My hero main right now is a Inv/Dark. I've soled him to 31. I think I've been defeated once due to an AFK
I think it's a rare build as a tanker because the scrapper version has better overall payoff. -
I think merit rewards should be increased by a MINIMUM 200%.
The payoff now is ok and all. But merits were created to reward those who didn't have time to chain-run-farm task forces and such.
Good idea overall, but needs a huge boost to really accomplish its intent. -
interesting idea. You have actually described a space version of CoX.
It would be interesting if CoX2 was CoX in space...Galaxy of Heroes, Galaxy of Villains...Kinda has a nice ring to it.
Then to further awesome the idea. Combine the games so that either world (Space or Paragon) could be accessed with any toon if you have both CoX1 and CoX2.
Now that would be rather groovy indeed. -
Quote:I'd say that there is a bit of an illusion when it comes to casting traps powers. The "delivery" comes off clumsy and it makes people think it takes a long time to cast. You also are exposed a bit more as you are typically subject to both melee and ranged attacks during your delivery. I think this was the primary reason the FFG is built the way it is.Which traps powers specifically seem to take longer to execute than their cast times would suggest?
Traps is an odd one and doesn't blend well with some playstlyes. It's not direct, it's not stealthy and it's not defined by any one power in the set.
I do get a little bored though with running up to mobs and then kneeling down. Sorta breaks the immersion a bit. I think this is the reason that I don't use PT and AM very much when solo. -
I've seen a few low lever ARs. But I have never seen aother 30+ AR corruptor. I'm sure they are out there though.
"Un-Common" is tough to define. I think overall, except for 1 or 2 builds for every AT, all the others are pretty evenly represented. -
I'll chime in here since I have a level 50 AR/Traps that is about 50% purpleoutedness and uber procs.
When your built for recharge, and have a "tough fight" in front of you (Or a long fight) AND you have a brute that can gather the mobs, your trapper can be the absolute backbone of the team. In these situations I barely use my primary. That is you're shining spot where you have you're best chance of being worshipped, admired and thanked.
Your worst spot is running a team that is just steam rolling everything. But I belive that this is the case with just about any support toon. Here, you just use your primary to assist in damage. At least you're not doing defender level damage! This is the very reason I have the leadership pool. I can run assault to boost the teams damage and have my own damage to boot. Built for recharge I can just alternate flame thrower and full auto in these situations.
Solo is sort of defined by your primary here. I believe that there are fire/traps that have soloed AVs. I doubt my AR could do that. But I'm not softcapped or built for it either. Haven't even come close to trying. My guy is built to team and running his solo missions at the default setting is cake.
I could write a 300 page book about this build. -
There is no death in this game. You just get "knocked out really bad".
No MMO that am aware of has got the perfect formula for defining a defeated player.
Certainly one-time-perma-death is not the answer, but unlimited life with practically 0 penalty doesn't quite seem right either. The only real penalty for death(defeat) is a little more time sink--And sometimes not even that. -
Hi. Do you have any thoughts you can share about getting more players to join an a 6 year old MMO? Quite a challenge there.
I was thinking we could rig up a laser to engrave the CoX web addy on the moon. -
Quote:You're biggest problem will be the brutes splitting up and going different directions. As a trapper, you do very well when the mobs are gathered. My cousin, wife and i are making a team on red. We normally play on blue so im new at the strengths of red.
I know brutes build up power as they fight. In Mids, the base values are considerably lower than scrappers.
My question is, how fast does the Fury build up to reach maximum damage? Is it good enough to have such lower base values? They are both making Fire/SD brutes and im running a Fire/Traps Corruptor. Thanks for any info.
With two brutes you will feel a little worthless here and there. But against tough mobs you'll the backbone.
Recomend you pick up assalt to boost the damage of your brutes early on and let them (preferably just one of them) lead the way. -
Maybe a 3rd party manufacturer just had a really bad product mix up.

Quote:But maybe they are making a profit by opening up a slot for something better to go in. I've done this alot. Or maybe they want to open a slot up so they can bid on something.I'm talking to the person who's treating this like a poorly paid job, who's churning off cheap IOs like they're in a sweat-shop. I'm not telling you that manufacturing IOs to make influence is a bad thing. I'm just suggesting that you might want to make a reasonable profit out of it.
Study Game Theory and you'll have a better understanding of why "players" of a "game" will make irrational choices. -
Quote:I don't really mean to offend, but this paragraph is wrong on so many levels it's not even funny.
PS. If your intention is to undercut everyone else trying to make a reasonable profit, to drive us out of the market so you can then raise your prices and still have the whole market... then you can forget it, because I'm not going anywhere (and I very much doubt I'm the only one). I'm going to keep checking the prices in Wentworth, forcing you to grind away your time as that's the only way you're going to keep me from making a reasonable profit from my time. You want to work at this like it's a real job? Be my guest. It's your time to waste. When I'm not checking the market I'll be the one doing TFs and making your rate of return look pathetic. -
Cool that everyone is pointing to concept and not sqrt(max/(min)+DPS^2=ftw)

Quote:This. By now everyone knows that it's coming. You have to focus on appreciating the creativity that was inv...ahhh nevermind. It made me giggle a bit. And, as Sam say, they did put some good thought into it. I'm sufficiently amused
Just keep complaining. You'll fit right in with everyone else in society. -
Quote:To each their own. But I see common salvage (Luck Charms for example) sell for 300K+. While seeing some rare salvage sell for <1000. The recipe situation is similar.Personally, white and yellow salvage isn't worth my time. I usually delete the white/yellow and post the rare for sale. Sometimes I post all the white/yellow for 1. If I was starting out I'd drop every salvage on the market and before posting it for sale, hit "more" real quick and check the last 5 and confirm that the item frequently sells above vendor prices. Any salvage that does not sell above vendor I'd simply get back from the market and cart to the vendor to sell. I'd post the remaining items for sale around 10% below the going rate to get a decent balance of profit and patience.
I have no idea what is "hot" or not. I, personally, don't care.
When my salvage fills up, I just go sell it for the most part. Typically, I go with the Median price to make sure it turns over.
If you feel so inclined, just start writing down the quotes you see along with the day of the week. You'll proably finde that the weekends prices tend to be cheaper with a peak hitting Thursday/Friday...Thats my impression of how price moves anyway.
It'd be interesting to datamine salvage prices. -
i want a levl 50 sidekick how do i pl?

Getting a little tired of the "darkity dark mystery death ultimate killer of darkness with darky awesomeness" stuff.
I bet no one has that as a name. -
[QUOTE=Westley;2732404]I suspect an inherent damage increase when solo to boost us to pre-Defiant Blaster damage... and when we're teamed will enhance all of our buff/debuff numbers somehow.[/QUOT
I agree here. I had the same thought about tankers. Damage buff while solo but scales down as team members are added. In turn, Def numbers would be discounted solo while scaling up as team members are added. -
I've gotten the impression that it's more about when someone uses an exploit for the purpose of levling someone else stupid fast.
Keep in mind that it's not the players fault that the exploit exists. -
Quote:So your thinking 15 minutes. The reason I started this is that I began pondering on the % of "truly active" forum users vs game players.A "Currently Active User" is someone who has logged into the forums and has requested a page from the server within a certain time frame (I would guess it's something like 15minutes). A "guest" is someone who has not logged in and has requested a page within the same time-frame with unique individuals being determined by IP address.
I'd like to define "truely active" as someone who refrences the forums on a regular basis for the purpose of improving their game knowledge.
So I'm wondering if there is a way for us to determine what % of the game-playing population is a "truely acive' user.
Based on this, it would seem the % would be relativly small. -
As it relates to the forum...What is a "Currently Active User" Is that like, today users? And what really is a "guest"?
Currently Active Users: 6221 (1972 members and 4249 guests) -
You think that's bad...Obamas health care plan does not say one thing about super powered beings at all. Talk about bogus.
-
Tankers use to be able to gather alot more agro. But I think the cap was placed in to prevent scenarios of "map gathering"
My memory may be off here, but I seem to remember there being a fuss made about tankers grouping together likke 50+ mobs or something, and then pulling them into a trap where a bunch of blaster nukes were waiting for them.
Then there was that thing...what'd they call it? Dumpster diving was it? Again fuzzy memory, but I think this was pupular with fire tankers...gather a bunch of mobs and then jump in a dumpster and go AFK. -
Quote:Time will tell. And yes tanks are tougher. But don't forget that damage is a great form of mitagation. Just my opinion, but if a tank is needed in a given scenario, 95% of the time a Brute will be accepable or preferred. Not even the Brute forums think Brutes are as tough as Tankers. Brutes don't even come close to replacing Tankers.
Scrappers have far more to worry about from Brutes than Tankers do.
However, it will obviously depend on the make-up of the team. A team that is "blaster/dominator" heavy will prefer the tank. A team that is heavy on defender/controller/epicAT/corruptor will prefer that Brute.
Brutes over Scrappers? Maybe a bit. I think in general, teams will see them as equivelent.
