  1. The title says it all. With two recharges slotted in the level 47 Mako power, Summon Coralax, exactly how much more recharge will I need to achieve perma or near-perma status on said pet? Keep in mind I do have hasten 3-slotted for recharge at 50.
  2. I was grouped with a fire blaster last night on my Warshade. I told him:

"You bring the fire and I'll bring the squid. Together, we will be... TEAM CALAMARI!!!"

Ok, so it's not that funny...
  3. Is there an editor for working on your missions offline then uploading them later? I'd like to be able to work on them on my lunch break at work or on a laptop with no internet connection.

    Best Solo SoA

My crab solos without breaking a sweat, but I DID spend 500m on her IO's...
  5. And you can use chemical weapons or nukes to make combat more efficient. The Universe (i.e. the game server for life) won't stop you. But, the population of Earth (i.e. the 'players') might do something about it... :P

  7. My problem with his dissertation is that he refers to Twixt's behavior in the third person, as if Twixt were a separate entity. It was his behavior and his choice of actions which caused his unpopularity in the community as a whole.

Whenever we see a singular entity ostracized by a community at large, it is not proper to assume that the actions of the majority are the actions of antagonists. Clearly, the antagonist in this situation is the man behind Twixt, and he is deserving of the behavior of the community. In the end, it is most likely quite irrelevant, as his social consciousness seems a bit callous, and I suspect, that he, like me, was a bit of an outcast when he was a teenager and this "self-centric" view of the world around him has cascaded into his adult life.

While his behavior was not against the "physics" of the game, it was against the social order defined by the populace, and any and all social actions taken against him that are within the rules, are just as acceptable as his own.

The practice of "droning" people was established by the community on every server individually to be socially unacceptable. There was no collusion involved. When the behavior of over nine different servers falls in line with each other over a particular tactic, it is safe to assume that following such a ground rule is a prudent choice.

He brought social leprosy upon himself. No one else is to blame. Unless you want to blame just about everyone else---

I really dont understand how you could have an SoA or Widow switch sides. SoA's are supplied by arachnos, (Omega Maneuver, archnobots etc) So I would imagine switching would cut you off.

Besides, then you wouldnt be a Soldier of Arachnos, you'd be a Soldier Formerly Known as of Arachnos, and that just doesnt have the same ring to it.

So honestly, I dont really wanna see the possibility to switch sides with the SoA/widows... but on the other hand, I REALLY want an evil warshade. All Lovecraftian and such. And while I dont think it would make much sense story-wise, it is probably a neccesity to have both able to switch sides.

    EVIL WARSHADES FTW!!!

I am going evil with my Warshade as soon as I can. That is gonna be SWEET!
  10. I just want to get my Warshade to 50 (from 24.) What basic build advice do you suggest to make her able to play on the highest difficulty setting all the way to 50? Any and all advice would be most appreciated!
  11. Are any of you considering 'going blue' with your SoA when the expansion comes out? I think it'll will be fun to take my epic AT's over to the other side...
  12. I think of everything power-wise as benefit vs. endurance cost. I guess that's why I see CT: O more effective vs. the Leadership Pools power, especially in a solo build, because the cost vs. benefit is infinity.

Yes, this analysis doesn't hold up when the benefit is trivial, but CT: O is far from trivial, especially when 3-slotted with ACC IOs.

CT: D on the other hand, is a joke. It provides only benefits against ranged attacks, and as far as I recall (if I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will point out I'm an idiot) it doesn't stack with any other defense besides other ranged defense.
  13. Speaking as a man who has (for now) beaten kidney cancer, it is sad to hear this kind of news. I am sorry for your loss. If you need assistance in your task, please call upon me.

Toggle Cloaking Device off? Banes have low enough Defense already, you don't want to make it even lower (and waste time toggling/detoggling). When CD suppresses, you still get about 2.9% Defense from it. That's significant mitigation when stacked on top of your other sources of Defense. Turning this off is ill-advised. The Endurance saved by turning it off is tiny and nowhere near worth the trouble of toggling and lost Defense.

CT:O is a wasted power pick. Banes are tight builds, you need to separate the wheat from the chaff. CT:O is chaff all the way. Skip it, have 1 ACC common IO and the TT:Leadership toggle and you'll do fine. Once you slot IO sets, CT:O becomes even more pointless because you have all the accuracy you'll ever need at that point. You need the power pick more than you need CT:O. Remember, CT:O gives Accuracy, not ToHit. That's why it's junk.

This is the build I use. It mixes up Melee and Range, single target and AOE. You'll have an answer for virtually every situation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, Cloaking Device off! .23/sec is a lot of blue to be using for the meager defense it gives you. Unless you're dipping into pool powers for defense, the 2.9% is, as you would put it, chaff.

Combat Training: Offense, 3-slotted for ACC, is almost 20% ACC to ALL of your powers. That is IMMENSE! How can you call that chaff?

All of your other suggestions? Sound advice for the most part. I have no argument with them.
  15. Sargeant Suffer, my Soldiers/Traps Mastermind's theme is Mars, the Bringer of War by Gustav Holst.
  16. I'm definitely not saying this is the only way, but this is the way I went:

Slot with level 30 IO's at 27. Don't use sets, and don't buy the recipes from the Black Market if they are priced anywhere near the IO terminal price + the build price. Use AE tickets to get the Uncommon salvage that is overpriced as well, as tickets are cheaper to come by at that level than 500k inf.

Toggle cloaking device off after the initial strike and toggle it back on when that particular battle is over... that way you'll never have to slot it for endurance.

Take Combat Training: Offensive and 3 slot it with Accuracy IOs. It will give all your to-hit powers a considerable bonus.

Take Tactical Training: Assault and Assault from the Leadership Pool and slot them for END reduction - 2-3 IOs for the former and 3 for the latter. Combined, these two will add 30% to the damage output of you and any allies close to you. I know you said this is primarily for solo, but in a full group of 8, each with the same approximate DPS as you, that's the contribution of about 240% more damage than your base to the groups total damage FROM YOU ALONE.

Take Mental Training. It raises your individual damage by 20% on the top end. Recharge is the mega factor of DPS, but you have to watch your END...

Take Health and Stamina. I suggest 3 slotting them both.

Sturdy and Luck are the inspirations you want to keep for the big battles because there isn't much passive defense for the Bane Spider that is worth it. You need to either keep your targets away from you or keep them knocked down. In that vein, if you're interested in taking a travel power, I suggest the Flight Pool so that you can take Air Superiority.

I solo with this build and do fairly well. When I reach 50 (I'm 38 now) I'll start putting sets together, but for now, I play on the highest difficulty and only very rarely do I have problems with bosses. Everything else is cake.

    Personal thought on question.

Slower levels = Greater Value of the Goal

Faster Levels = Firecracker goal. Ooo, ahh at first then nothing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The solution? Double or Triple the number of levels and speed up the pace between levels.
  18. The way they did it was hopefully just a short term solution, because I don't want my custom Mobsters to be throwing bolts of electricity or ripping a rock out of the floor and throwing it. They should have a ranged third power choice that is mandatory for melee archetypes that includes a handgun, a thrown rock, and whatever else the "developer" mobs get to choose from.

Until then, my mobsters are SUPER-mobsters, and that's just dumb.
  19. If it was a power called 'Portals' which basically opened portals to create the effects listed, would that be more appropriate?

    Portals
    -----------------------------------------

Amoebic Muck - Minor Damage over time (poison), foe: Immobilize -Speed -Recharge

Taste of the Abyss - Ranged, Moderate Damage over Time (NE), Foe hold)

Slamhand - Ranged, Moderate Damage (Smashing), Foe Knockback

    Vortex - Summon Vortex: Knockback

Amoebic Plague - Targeted Area of Effect, Minor Damage over Time (Poison), foe: Immobilize -Speed -Recharge

Abominable Goo - Targeted Area of Effect, Foe Knockdown

The Abyss - Targeted Area of Effect, Moderate Damage over time (NE), Foe hold

Star Portal - Point Blank Area of Effect, Foe disorient -Perception Fear, special damage vs. undead

    Dimensional Warden - Summon Warden

    -----------------------------

Amoebic Muck: Summons billions of otherworldly amoeba underneath the feet of a single target, casing minor damage over time, and slowing his actions. Recharge: Fast

Taste of the Abyss: Opens a portal to a dimension of horrors, which reach through and hold fast a single target, squeezing it for Moderate Lethal damage over time. Recharge: Moderate

Slamhand: A giant hand from another dimension knocks a target down and causes moderate smashing damage. Recharge: Moderate

Vortex: Summons a vortex on top of of the target, knocking it away. The vortex remains in place, knocking all away for 10 seconds or until another vortex is summoned. Recharge: Moderate

Amoebic Plague: Like Amoebic Muck, but over a wide area of effect., Recharge: Slow

Abominable Goo: Materializes a slippery pool of unmentionable green matter. All within the effect may slip and fall repeatedly until the pool evaporates. Recharge: Slow

The Abyss - Like Taste of the Abyss, but it affects all opponents within a targeted area of effect. Recharge: Slow.

Star Portal: Very briefly opens a portal near a star, releasing a brilliant light, blinding all within its radius and disorienting them as well. Some opponents might even flee in terror. Undead within the light take Extreme Damage. Recharge: Slow

Dimensional Warden: Summons a Dimensional Warden, a creature highly resistant to Energy, Smashing, Lethal, and Negative Energy damage. Powers: Bone Smasher, Star Portal, Amoebic Muck, Slamhand. When defeated, Dimensional Warden explodes outward, inflicting Extreme Energy damage. Recharge: Very Slow
  20. Nah, I'd rather make it 3 small insps chosen at random from your pile to have a 50% chance to make one medium random insp and a 50% chance to make nothing, or 3 medium insps chosen at random from your pile to have a 50% chance to make one large random insp and a 50% chance to make nothing.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I'll use your well worded suggestions to flesh out the problems with the powerset... oh wait a sec, it ALL sucks?

    nevermind.
  22. Oops. I forgot to edit my first entry pointing to the less magical revamp in a reply further down.

    Fixed.
  23. OK. I moved the vortex, and had it summon on top of the target.

    This is much better! =-3

Though I think it would be better to make the Vortex a ground target AOE KB power rather than 'appears behind the enemy'. I'd also move it back in the set, above Fastchain and Force Sphere.

Other than that I like it!

Question for you: I created the Vortex power to "pull" someone back toward the hero/villain, and I didn't want to 'teleport' them. That's why I had it place itself on the other side of the mob and cause knockback. Can you think of another way, sans teleportation, that I could do that?
