Is there a specific reason why certain recipe "weighs" more than others? Like IO Impervious Skin.png Impervious Skin: End/Rech/Res weighs 5x the weight. By having higher weight, it means you are more likely to get that recipe right?

I thought all recipes are "random", equal chance. lol Maybe unique weights more?
  2. bummer..I just tried. I set my slider to lvl 30 but still got lvl 38 recipes. I chose random between 30-34.
  3. wow..really? I thought you can only buy at your character's level!! Oh my god.

So is level 30 the best choice?
  4. Oh thanks. I am just unlucky then.

But how do you buy "lower level" sets if your character is higher level?
  5. I've been doing villain tips and using the purple merit to get 5 random "rare" recipes. Can we get "unique" with these random drops? I've done twice already and I haven't really got anything good. I am wondering if I should just save the points.

Can you get unique like Miracle and Numina +recovery?

Yeah, that's the reason why I thought about it. I originally wanted to go with psionic mastery for resistance especially psi but I am not sure if the "damage self" is tough for Dom or not.

E/E/Fire Gives you fireball and RoF and a res based shield, and i thnk a self rez and ST blast?

eitherway, I would (and did) look at adding to my Defence and survivability utility on my Elec/Earth, so I went Elec/Earth/Cold, and am very happy with what my final build will be, PermaDom and Softcapped smash/lethal defence.
Mmmmm... how do you get perma dom and also soft cap type defense? I find it that I need to choose either perma dom or high defense.

Yeah, Sleet is an excellent team power, no doubt. I didn't want Sleet at first because I am afraid of the dot damage that wakes up them mobs from static field.
  8. Ugh, I just took Shuriken. It cannot critical from Hidden, Placate and natural critical. Sux. T_T

I already sent a bug report.
  9. I hope the dev can fix this soon. I just got Shuriken from Weapon Master and it cannot critical. It cannot critical from Hidden, not from Placate and it has no natural critical.
  10. I read that there is a minor change on ET for Dom. It has reduced "damage self"?

Is the Damage Self penalty very obvious? I have never tried Energy Melee except for Energy Assault.

I am planning my Elec/Earth Dom and so far, I am leaning towards Psonic Mastery for Psionic defense/resistance and use the shield to stack with Tough. Yes, I am taking Tough because my Dom is 90% all melee.

Then I saw Energy Transfer which looks interesting as the recharge is only 20s? I thought most patron or epic attacks have double the recharge. Having both Seismic Smash and ET can be interesting but Primal set's shield sucks and I really don't need Conserve energy or any more knockbacks. Psionic set has team buff and even mez protection.

Any advise? I am not going for perma-dom. I am going for more +defense. How did you build your Earth Assault Dom? I know Sleet is a super awesome debuff but Frozen Armor doesn't stack too well or does it? Type Defense set bonuses are so expensive to get. I am only planning on getting Mako. That is the most affordable "good" melee set.
  11. I thought Levitate activates longer....

Lift is one of the better Damage Per Activation range attacks for Dominator. The only downside is damage comes 2s later. Other than that, it is a very respectable range attack. I don't find the knockup distance matters that much. It is a good place for both knockback protection and 7.5 Recharge.
  12. I think Power Boost does increase endurance drain in Static Field. Last night I was doing a tip mission with a boss and after I dropped static and ran in to hold, after 5s, she was almost dried! It was scary quick. Not that it really matters 'cause she was held already but I think PB increases +end drain in Static Field. I know it affects Condutive Aura.

Exaggerated much?? There is no way you can line up Seeds of Confusion for every mob and at low level, it's not going to be perma-confused.

I've made many many dominators and I can't imagine not having ST Hold. I just can't. I don't know how I can survive without one. Mind Dom may be able to get away with it but it is still exaggerating. The ST Hold on Dominator is like defensive shields on any melee toons. Dom's defense = control.

When Stalker was introduced, was there PvP?
  16. Have you guys seen Dominators without single holds? I saw one at lvl 42. I wonder how he made it that far without that single hold....

I've seen a few SoA without Maneuvers but not 90%.

    Mainly in the durability aspect.
Which type is GENERALLY the best in the defensive part of being a Stalker?
    Danke in advance!
Having lvl 50 Ninjitsu and Willpower without much set bonus, I would say Willpower survives better only because Stalker has somewhat low HP and if I do get hit, I get hit hard. Willpower, while not having as high defense, has resistance and more HP to backup and it has psionic resistance. If "durability" is what you want in Stalker (which is kinda strange but hey, it's your game!), then I would go with Willpower and maybe combo it with Dark Melee for more healing and tohit debuffs. :P

PS: I try to give opinions based on a toon without set bonuses because not everyone wants to invest that much.

If the dev have no problem giving a power that can boost the team's damage to almost max with only 60s base recharge (yes, I am looking at you Fulcrum Shift), then I am sure they have no problem reducing Assassin Strike's activation time or at least get rid of the interrupt. :P

So Fire and Ice are two good choices to go with it (Fire being the strongest damage wise by a considerable amount).

Earth Assault is possibly one of the best pairings with Elec. You can be knocking things down whilest draining them, and PB (unlike Domination) will apparently work with most of the powers, most notably Conductive Aura. I've just asked the Power Boost question myself and apparently it will also carry over to your chained confuse and Static Field, as well as Paralyzing Blast. Just make sure you fire PB off first and then the AOE mez. Then stand in amongst the mezzed enemies clobbering away and watch the blue bars drain away.
Oh, Power Boost works with Static Field? I thought SF is a "pet" and PB won't affect it.

And I agree, Elec/Earth is awesome! Conductive Aura seems like it's made for a melee-dom and Earth can cost a lot of endurance once you start chaining Seismic.

    Best Dom pet?

Mmmmm... I've experienced with all of them. I think I would rank:

    1. Gremlins
    2. Stoney
    3. Jack Frost
    4. Singy (damage is just too low)
    5. Fly Trap
    6. Imps

I must be the only person here who likes Gremlins the best and I think it has a lot to do with electricity set as a whole and that I am /Earth so having two pets that are aggressive with some controls and having more base HP than I have is a good thing!

I find Fly Trap the coolest looking pet but it is very fragile.

Stoney is a good mix of "durability" and "damage". Jack Frost has good damage but I find him quite slow sometimes and he melts fast if he gets hit anything other than ice damage.

This is true too. I played a lot of Warhammer Online PvP and people were bit!@#$ about Witch Elves pwning because she can stealth and does tons of damage in a short amount of time. Well, that is the ONLY thing she is good for. Once she reveals herself, she is just as easy to kill as any "mage-type" of class.

The only stealth class that I've experienced with that does pretty good in both PvE and PvP is Burglar from Lord of the Ring Online. Burglar can trigger Maneuvership Team attack/heal once in 5mins. If you are on a big team, that Team Attack does amazingly amount of damage so it's not a bad idea to bring a Burg along in a Raid. I have limited experience in LoTR though. And I got pwzned so bad in PvP by Burg but I was low level.. their stun lock is nasty.

Well, one thing I can think of is Assassin Strike animation. I think the dev won't reduce the activation time is because pvp balance? I am guessing.

This game has some serious pvp issues that I can't explain! lol I don't like pvp fights that last only 10s. Whenever I see a "buffed" Blaster charging me, I know I am pretty much dead.

Blaster > Stalker in PvP by a pretty large amount IMO. Stalker is still mostly melee.

High level Tanker is almost un-killable.

But hey, I don't pvp much in this game and my builds are not really pvp-specific (in other games I do). I've only used some toons like Necro/Trap (which does ok in Siren Call as long as I don't get Teleported), Fortunata in RV (she totally sucks in that zone, defense means nothing) and Claw Stalker in RV (I can't kill s@#$).

Last time I brought my Fort to RV, I see Tanks doing more range damage than I do with Hurl and my hold lasts like 3s.... LOL

I don't know what they did in PvP but I think there's nothing they can do to make it fun for me. This game's mechanism is just not very pvp friendly. I love/hate tp foe. When my mastermind gets tped, I know it's game over. There's only so many Orange I can eat.

I've always thought that killing your Boss in one hit is more Demoralizing than not finishing him off in one hit.

You are rewarded for "not finishing" off the target immediately. weird..
