    Slow set can definitely get more benefit from Musculature but if you want more damage potential, you can combine several damage procs + Musculature. It doesn't have to be damage procs. You can put chance to hold or chance to heal self without losing much +damage %.

    The thing with damage proc is that some enemies you need to use 4 powers to finish off but when the damage proc happens, you may only need to use 3 powers. For example, my Earth Assault Dominator needs to use two attacks to finish off a +1 minion (like CoT Mage). But when Mako proc happens in Seismic Smash, I can one-shot the minion.

    But like I said, to get the most out of Musculature, you need a much different build because most people don't fully slot Slow set in Ice Blast. Now with Musculature, you can make up the loss of +damage from alpha while enhancing the slow effect in each ice blasts. The reason is that a full range set like Thunder Strike already pushes damage % so high already. You don't get that much +damage from alpha unless with high level tier.

    I find spamming Bolt so annoying. I tried in Radiation Blast on Corruptor and I still find the damage too low.

    AH proc can definitely improve your DPS but I would put it in several human attacks so you don't have to keep spamming Bolt just to wait for it to proc. Changing from 1.5s recharge to 3s isn't going to be that different. You at least get better base damage from spamming Bolt and Gleaming Bolt.

    I can't afford Apocalypse damage proc so I won't even go into it.

    My favorite attack in human form is actually Radian Strike. It's fast and does decent damage.

    Back when they first introduced AH procs, I tested it with Corruptor Trapper. I vaguely remember AH procs from two Acid Mortars stack. Acid Mortar is interesting because two acid mortars count as two "different sources". So potentially you could have two Acid Mortar debuffs + two AH procs debuff. I can't remember if I did the test thoroughly enough or not. I actually only have experience with AH procs in Acid Mortar and Merc MM. I know for a fact that AH procs do not stack between you and your pets.
  4. I am currently leveling a Gravity/Fiery. My goal is to make an all-range Dom because I just level an Elec/Earth (all melee) to level 47 but I am not happy with his performance at high level.

    My attack chain is Lift (6s), Fire Blast (8s) and Blaze (12s). All 3 attacks are fast!

    I can't decide if I want Fire or Ice Mastery. Fire seems to have better synergies but Sleet is just too good to pass on.

    I've been playing Fortunata for a long time. In fact she is the first one I got 2nd tier alpha. Dominator's damage potential is definitely higher but since I am not perma-dom, I still have mez protection problem. Fortunata is just built so tough.
  5. I would only use ST immb on Dominator mostly for immb purpose. Ring of Fire takes like 8s to complete the damage?

    The main thing you need to consider is that Ring of Fire has -kb so your knockdown from Rippers and kb from Thorn Barrage won't work but it can be good that you don't kb all the time.

  7. Yeah, Sleet is definitely one of the best debuff powers in the game. Large area, slow, knockdowns and debuffs greatly.

    The only reason I won't take Ice Mastery is because of Ice Armor. I am all ranged (Gravity/Fiery) and it's hard to stack positional defense with range sets.


    By the way, Rain of Fire is listed having only 60s recharge (surprising to me) and Ice Storm has 120s recharge (which makes sense because patron version is usually double the recharge timer). Interesting...
  8. My Fortunata went with Muscular at first and got to 2nd tier. The amount of damage increased is quite little because I am already using full Thunder Strike sets which push the damage so close to the cap already.

    I respec my build and took Tough and many other toggles (9 in total including Darkest Night from patron), I just couldn't afford the endurance cost so I switched to Cardiac. Man, I am telling you, Cardiac is amazing!!! It reduces so much end in every power literally.

    I think +recharge and -end are better off honestly because with a full set like Positron or Thunder Strike, your +recharge is not at 70% so the alpha bonus can push them closer to the cap. I think full positron set only gives 26% recharge?

    You need a different build to get the best out of Muscular IMO. You can put damage procs and use Muscular to fill that +damage %.

    I've tried Willpower many times and it is excellent on Stalker. Willpower is great because you have a mix of resistance and defense, a single heal and set bonuses make Willpower a whole lot better.

    I've heard a lot of complaints on Regen because Stalker's has low HP cap so you don't get as much "regen" effect as Scrapper and Regen has no psionic protection while Willpower is decent psionic resistance.

    You may need some break from this game. I've taken 3 breaks already and now I am still very addicted.

    You can try other games and I bet eventually you'll come back to this game (again and again!).

    By the way, why is Mind Troller or Dom "boring"? lol

    That's why you increase recharge so the "slow firing" blasts hit harder each time since PB already has quite a few attacks already. This is not a nerf on PB. You hit harder but recharge a bit slower. If you've played old Energy Assault on Dominator, you would know what I mean.

    Oh, I have no experience on Nova form at all. It was only a question, not a statement that Human may deal more damage than Nova form. If I remember correctly, some experienced PB player said Human can deal more damage than Nova form?

    I've made second Gravity Dominator now. One is lvl 43 Grav/Icy and one is lvl 40 Grav/Fiery (all ranged damage using Lift, Fire Blast and Blaze).

    Wormhole is a very interesting power and it can be quite satisfying if you can wormhole a group to a corner and unleash all your aoe on them.

    The problem wit WH is that you don't always have that special corner to teleport the foes to and if you don't use it out of sight, you can get hurt a lot before the mobs even get teleported.


    I basically only enjoy my Gravity dom when I am the leader and with a few friends. This way they can wait for me to tp foes to a corner. WH is not very team-friendly if you have brute/tanker that run in first to herd/group mobs closely together.


    Gravity also has two very badly designed powers: Propel (for Dominator) and Dimension Shift. 9/10 times DS is just counter-productive because teammates are so confused by why mobs are "unaffected" and you spend more time trying to find targets that are not phased. Another problem with DS is that the mobs actually "GAIN" something during phase shift. They still regenerate health/endurance! The net gain is not in your favor.


    It would be so nice if they can redesign Dimension Shift and make it like Ice Patch but instead of knocking down, it knocks up! Mobs walking through the Gravity Patch has a chance to get knocked up/lifted up. That will make Gravity set so much more interesting. Or if they really don't want to change the phase shift part, they should put huge -regen in DS so the mobs that get phased can't regenerate health.
  18. I would rank Siphon Life as one of the Top 3 best ST melee attacks in the game for everything is does. All negative damage, tohit debuff, healing and only 10s recharge.
  19. My semi- Blood Widow does have mental training and mind link. I just don't have Mask stealth and I don't use any psi attacks. Not taking Mask is not gimping at all. Its defense is lower than Bane's Cloaking. I save that spot for either Tough/Weave. :P I don't need stealth because 1. I don't have Build Up (I use follow up) so the burst damage isn't going to be that great from hidden 2. To replace Mask's defense, I take one more maneuver or tough/weave. It's hardly gimping myself. Mind link is too good to pass, that I agree.

    Huntsman takes Survelliance and Build Up which are from Bane soldier or Aim + Crab shields.

  21. I level my Dark/Energy Brute to 40 before alpha came out and haven't really played until last night.

    I just made an alpha build with him. I used three damage procs so my +damage is only at about 40%. I am using Muscular with him for sure to get +damage higher.

    I can't wait to get my first real aoe from patron.

  23. My PB finally hit lvl 27.

    I made myself a promise to level PB higher than lvl 14 this time and I did it!

    PB is actually "ok" at lower level because you get a very good melee attack in radiant strike (this melee attack is probably one of the best at 10s recharge with only 1.07 act) and you get a heavy hitter at lvl 18.

    The problem with PB is that after lvl 26, PB's potential just seems to drop quite a bit. Human form PB feels like a high Regen with a mix of range/melee and one healing power. It is actually not a bad idea IMO.

    What's not good is the following powers:

    1. Glinting Eye: 4s attack with 1.67 recharge. I would move it to 6s recharge and maybe Gleaming Blast to 10s and Bolt to 3s. Maybe they can do what they did for Energy Assault for Dominator. The problem is human form could be (or it already is?) doing more damage than the Squid form? Squid form is supposed to do the most damage?

    2. I can live with Detonation doing aoe knockback (just like M3 Grenade) but why is Solar Flare aoe knockback? I really think PB human can be a lot more effective if Solar Flare is aoe knockdown.


    I haven't tried Seekers yet. I am currently too busy with alphaing. It will be a while before I touch PB again.

    Can you believe Spec-Op's Stealth gives 2% defense? I just checked it recently in game because I can't figure out the design behind Stealth on Spec-Ops when the stealth level is so low (they get attacked before even get close enough to use Riflebutt) and stealth slows them down a bit and Stealth doesn't give them stealth strike.
