Quote:Well, by using Venom Grenade, you are consistently debuffing resistance for the team (and more debuff if you put AH prcs in your attacks). And if you are running leaderships, you are consistently buffing the team with +defense, +damage and +tohit. Yes, Crab's Single Target damage is less unless the pets focus on the same target which could be hard when there's a lot of mobs and AV super jumping away.Hi all,
yesterday I had my first Lambda-Trial on my Crab Spider and I felt pretty useless during the second half.
The first part went quite nicely but as soon as we tried to secure the Weapon Crates I felt completely useless. I couldn't get past the mobs in the narrow corridors and whe we found a crate I drew to much aggro and died as soon as we went to get the next crate.
Against Marauder I also felt limited to cycling my single target attacks, summoning pets and throwing Venom Grenades.
I have a lot more fun on my Ill/Kin troller because I can buff/debuff, heal, cloak, use decoys to tank adds and deal damage.
I'd like to know what your tactics for the Lambda-Trial are. What do you do to survive, what do you do to make yourself useful? Should I try running the Lambda-Trial as a Bane Spider instead?
Thanks in advance!
As for the weapon crate, it is hard to solo one being -3 level. It gets a lot easier once you have second and third level shift. My Fortunata survives very well but it takes me a long time to kill a crate. I have to stand far and hopefully I don't aggro the big robots.
I say just stick with teammates during 2nd phase. Many squishies die when they run on their own.
Bane has a bit easier time but not by much because after you reveal yourself, you will get hit a lot and Crab survives better in that situation. What your Bane has over Crab is that after you shake off the aggro, you can hide and find another crate easier. -
Decent idea but I don't know if this game has the mechanism for it. I think if it's interrupted, then it means the power activation is cancelled (much like how snipe gets interrupted).

So I played more of my lvl 33 Dual-Form PB last night. I tried to use more human powers during or before battle so I feel like they are not being wasted, and I tried to change form from Dwarf to Nova to try to be "versatile".
Man, Peacebringer has some SERIOUS design flaws.
1. Not only when you change from Nova/Dwarf to Human you lose all the human toggles, you also suffer from what seems like 3-4s "delay" from each "change". This is HIGHLY annoying because it makes me not want to change from Dwarf to Nova to take advantage of the 'blaster' form to finish off runners. If it takes that long, I might as well chase the target.
2. Photon Seekers SUCKs! This is actually THE power that made me want to level a PB to 32. It sounds pretty good on paper and I was really curious how it works. Well, I really don't understand all the restrictions they set on this power. This is probably the most unique power in Peacebringer. First, it has very long recharge at 300s. Second, you can't cast it with a "white circle", so you can't really cast them to take alpha strike for the team like the Seekers in /Trap. Third, if you cast them and then you run into battle, they seem to hit the target(s) that are closest to them which can be very wasteful because they could be only hitting minions. T_T
So I tried to do this. I run in as Dwarf, kill all the minions/lieuts and once there's only one boss left, I get rid of Dwarf form and quickly use Seekers and then change back to Dwarf again. Well, let's just say I almost killed myself doing that because there is casting delay (about 5-6s by the time I get back to Dwarf) and human form is physically weak without any shields (since all the shield toggles are off when you change forms).
All in all, the design is just very awkward. All the delays and restrictions just make me not want to change forms and that defeats the purpose of the Form Design isn't it?
This is the first time that I actually care about Kheldians. I've been ignoring them for years because SoA's design is just so much better. I just can't understand all the restrictions they put on Forms. Why can't Nova/Dwarf use regular Power Tools like Hasten and Leadership? What's the big deal? Every AT can use Hasten. I seriously doubt that my Nova form is overpowered with Hasten considering it only has 4 limited attacks and changing form back and forth is so annoying especially during battle. I basically can only use Hasten before the fight to enjoy the benefit and I have to suffer from delays to change to human and then change back to Form again. Is it really that necessary to restrict the forms like that? All my other toons set Hasten on auto.
Let Nova and Dwarf use Seekers. It already has very long recharge. I can't imagine them being overpowered considering we have WS capping defense/resistance and summoning pets that deal way more damage than the seekers. -
Quote:Yeah I thought about giving auto aura buff to Dwarf forms too but I have more problem with Nova form, well, PB Nova to be exact.I really like this line of thought, although I don't quite agree with the exact bonuses you've suggested.
In my opinion, both forms should get some sort of auto power team buff. If balance is an issue, then like Grant Cover, the buff can only be to teammates.
I think the buffs should be different depending on form and kheldian species. My idea ties in closely with the inherent.
For example: Bright Nova is an offensive creature and grants this offense to its team in the form of added recovery and a damage bonus. 10% and 20% respectively.
White Dwarf excels at protecting its team. Not only is the dwarf itself very resilient, but its aura protects the team, granting regeneration and resistance bonuses. 25% and 12.5% respectively.
For a warshade, these bonuses are reversed in position. Dark Nova grants the protection to its teammates while Black Dwarf increases their offensive capabilities.
The way this works, I think PBs get the better end of the bargain, especially if the bonus will apply to the PB himself. That's ok, because I think they need the buff more anyway.
I can't decide on the specific buff % but I want the buff to be "interesting" and "unique". I prefer buffing Energy-based attacks with some minor Tohit Buff but if the game mechanism doesn't allow that (or it's too complicated), I rather have Bright Nova buff the team offensively with Tohit and Damage (or +recovery like what you suggested). I feel Brightness allows the team to see better so the team has better tohit, damage potential and resistance to placate (blindness).
I like how the Dwarf brings defensive aura to the team.
I just think the forms are just too limited. They can provide some "interesting" buffs that others don't have.
Edited: I've been thinking... it may be better for Dwarf form to provide +recovery because if you already have a tank tanking, you want your teammates to unleash offense nonstop so the +recovery makes more sense. White Dwarf provides Energy fuel to surrounding teammates while giving them resistance to Endurance Drain effect.
I don't know what % should be good but something like 10% Recovery + 15% Resistance to Endurance Drain. The Dwarf form already has +recovery buff so naturally it can provide aura to others. -
Oh hell, I have something even simpler!
The presence of Bright Nova brings more Light to the surrounding. Teammates that are within the light receives a small bonus to Tohit buff, Damage Buff and provides resistance to Placate effect (reducing Smoke Grenade duration, for example).
5% Tohit Buff
10% Damage Buff to all type
Sources from different Novas DO stack as they bring even more Light to the team.
I don't think 10% damage buff is going to break the game considering you can't really use other powers effectively in Nova form.
Presence of Dark Nova brings small Tohit Debuff Resistance while adding small buff to Defense Debuff Resistance to the team.
5% Tohit Debuff Resistance
10% Defense Debuff Resistance

Quote:You are right that Dark Nova will love even more.I don't hate it. Were such a change to be made, it would likely be implemented as an auto power that nova form itself grants, similar to the self damage buff that nova already grants. I'm not sure if it's possible to directly buff certain damage types, however, and so can't say one way or another if it's a realistic request.
As an AOE buff though, pets would also be affected, and so Dark Novas would absolutely LOVE the extra damage their extracted essences would do. Peacebringers? Not so much benefit for them.
But I love hearing creative ideas like this.Well, can they distinguish buffs for Teammates only and not for other"pets"? I know Stalker's team critical buff only counts "teammates". There is lack of study on whether or not MM's pets are counted but let's just assume they don't. hehe I once tested MM's pets with Stalker but I only tested it with 50 critters killed which isn't large enough pools.
Well, I just want to add more dps to Nova form because Bright Nova really doesn't stand out enough. WS human can buff himself to out damage Dark Nova and so is PB human.
I did think it may be hard to just buff Energy or Negative Energy. The only other way is to debuff Damage Type which I know it exists because Venom Grenade can debuff Toxic Type more, which means the game has mechanism to debuff certain type. Technically they can add Energy debuffs in each of Nova attack. They don't stack but just refresh the duration. 12.5% energy-type resistance debuff. But other Nova debuffs can stack. :P
I guess they can add Energy-resistance debuffs in Nova form so other energy-type enjoys more. The dev don't have to give this to WS if they don't want to since WS is very self-efficient already.
I like this idea because it sort of matches Bright Nova's design. A big Bright Squid brings Light to the team. -
So last night I completely respec my Human-only PB to mostly Dual Forms in Nova and Dwarf. I am not satisfied with human form (yet) because I don't like all the massive knockbacks and I figure if I am playing Kheldian, I might as well enjoy the forms.
Anyway, I tested out my dual form last night and I have to say I am pretty happy with Dwarf form (even though I still think Black Dwarf is a lot better!!). Dwarf form can jump at least. lol Dwarf survives well enough and while damage is lacking, Solar Flare recharges a bit quicker than human form and it does knockdowns which actually brings quite a bit soft-controls to the team. So I basically see my White Dwarf as Tank-troller with very limited abilities and to fight against Void/Quantum.
Now, I have a problem with Bright Nova. I think its use is very limited and it's dps is lacking later on. AoE damage is decent but ST damage is very weak IMO. And human form with enough set bonuses can easily out damage Nova form. So what is the point of Nova? Human form also gets Combat Hover and Fly so it's not like Nova form is the only aerial combat stance. Nova has better endurance efficiency but it has more to do with the fact that Nova just only has 4 attacks and nothing else.
I have one strange buff idea. Comparing to their counter-part SoA, Kheldian doesn't bring any good team buff to the team. It's more like the team buffs them. Nova form, as I see it, is for DPS purpose. You lose shields and defense for more damage. Giving Nova form Build Up is a good start but what about giving Nova form a buff Aura that only buffs certain type of Damage?
Bright Nova brings Light to the environment. Its presence buffs Energy damage around it, while Dark Nova buffs Negative Damage for teammates. The radius can be as large as 30'. Basically, when you are in Bright Nova form, you have an aura around you that buffs teammate's Energy damage by 25%.
Now, there are more Energy-based attacks than Negative-energy, which is fine because I truly believe Peacebringer is weaker so it makes sense that PB brings damage to a more commonly-used Type. Dark Nova brings negative-damage buff so it can help sets like Dark Blast and Dark Melee more. This means Bright Nova brings Cosmic Balance to the team so sets like Energy Melee, Energy Blast, Radiation Blast and Electricity Blast can get a nice damage-type buff with a Bright Squid on the team. It sort of gives people a reason to invite PB/WS.
What do you think? They can make a new toggle for team buff or make it a Clicky. It's not like Nova uses a lot of endurance anyway. I rather not make it a toggle because changing forms means you need to re-toggle. ugh Making a clicky is fine so your Nova form feels like it has more things to do than using just 4 powers. -
LOL sorry. I just want to post in a thread about Dual Form after I tried Dual Form last night. I have a bad habit of not creating new thread. It's more of an observation than a comment on the OP's build.
I figure a lot of people (including me) focus more on human form on PB so I've decided to just try the two other forms. -
So I totally respec my Human PB build at lvl 32. I don't like how human pb works because there's just too many knockbacks.
I went with 95% Nova and Dwarf forms. I'll change these two forms depending on what the team wants. I am only lvl 32 but I tested a bit tonight and I like the results. I may get boring soon since there's only like 3 attacks for tanker form and 4 attacks for nova and you can't use anything else. T_T
What I don't like about tri-form is that 1. slotting becomes really tricky and I end up not being a good tanker, not a decent blaster...basically neither. 2. changing forms take time (why does it take so long to change from Nova to Tanker?
I figure if the strength of Kheldian is to change forms, then I might as well give them a try. I see Human form as a more versatile of the three but I find human PB very weak. After playing incarnate/alpha Fortunata, Bane and Soldier, I can't stand how weak pb human is. The lack of mez protection and damage and team buffs is just annoying and I absolutely hate solar flare's knockback. If they change it to knockdown or hell, even get rid of any knockback, then I'll like it 100% more. There's already enough knockbacks from other attacks.
I basically fully slot all Nova and Dwarf forms and take all human shields and put +psionic resistance stuff to help Tanker form. That's about it. It's really awkward because I can't use most of the powers in either forms. T_T -
Quote:Then go with Ninja!Besides demons, what would you say is a good build? I'm looking for something cool rather then good lol..
Ninja is playable but if you are frustrated with them later, don't say we never warn you.
All MM primaries are playable. Some just have an easier time because they are more like "point and click". Ninja requires a lot more babysitting because they die a lot faster. Technically they die faster because they 'melee' more. Most pets die just as quick if they go in (hint Medic, tier 1 Thugs).
Ninja/Storm is actually a decent combo especially if you solo. I say especially because some people hate hurrican on a team if you use it all the time but when you solo, you have no such problem. Just run in with hurrican and let your ninjas do the dirty work. The amount of -tohit debuff stacks nicely with your Ninja's defense. Just make sure you slot Steamy for some +defense and take Maneuver for more defense. The knockbacks will make ninjas run wild but it's better than resummoning all the time.
The only combo I will not advise is Ninja/Trick. You are just asking for headaches unless you use Taunt + Bodyguard combo but if I want to taunt, I'll play Tankers. That's just my belief and I will not change it. I don't care if that's how the game balances MM's survival. Well, it's no secret that I haven't played MM for a long time. MM used to be my most favorite. I start every game as some sort of summoner class. -
Well, their inability to improve pet's AI has made me dislike Mastermind ATs a lot. Funny I enjoy making new MMs but as soon as my pets start to die very fast, I don't enjoy them anymore.
During low levels, my pets actually feel like my real weapons. They can take some hits and they deal good damage. At high level (especially during tough boss fights), I feel I am better off just babysitting my teammates. I get sick of resummoning and re-upgrading. (I am mostly talking about Ninja by the way. I don't play Robot and I certainly hope Robot isn't the answer to all MM's problems)
If a pet cannot survive even one aoe hit from an AV, then they have no business running in. Simple as that.
Quite frankly, it's not just about wanting the pets to Stay at Range. It's more about the fact that most pets can't survive one aoe hit from an AV and certainly not from a super AV like Siege/Night. I don't mind my Genins running in, but they gotta survive better. Yes, buffs/debuffs help but only to certain extend. Other games have AoE protection for pets so they don't die that quick. In CoV, we have 6 pets! Other games may only have one or two. -
Quote:That's because Ninja sucks in general.ive been looking for a good build for a Ninja/dark ive looked all over there forums and haven't found a single one. if anyone could help that would be awesome just need a good solid build for Tf's, trials and all that jazz.
But /Dark is quite good especially after the buff on healing radius.
Ninja pets need a lot of babysitting because they don't have resistance (except for Oni's fire resistance). Genin's innate defense is too low to matter against higher level mobs.
Ninjas do "good" damage. On paper, they are supposed to do "great" damage but if they die, they deal ZERO damage. I think Ninja/Dark is a good Ninja combo to start. You just need to use your secondary more to help your very squishy pets.
If anyone wants you to be on TFs, it has more to do with your /Dark secondary than your Ninja but I am sure most leaders are just happy to form a large team regardless of AT and sets. -

Yeah I find Empowered Combo a bit weak too and that's why I rarely used it. I basically just do BU + 1K Cut.
I guess they can increase the duration. I can't remember exactly but I think it's 20s?
And yes, Typhoon Edge looks very cool.
One buff they can do is to increase Sweep Combo's radius and damage to make up the loss of Typhoon Edge and make Empowered buff even better since we can only choose one of them at the start of the battle. -
Thanks. Yeah oops, I meant Synaptic Overload. I don't know why somebody told me only the first one can trigger because each jump triggers Confuse.
-
At this point, I say any buff is a buff. Giving Build Up to Nova and Dwarf makes sense to me.
-
Quote:Forms are "over-powered"? Explain. Sure, fitness affects them. My PB is only 32 but when I tried Nova, I didn't think endurance was that big of an issue for it because it really only has 4 attacks and two being short-recharge.Unsigned. Forms are already too op now that Fitness affects them.
And fitness affects everyone so it's not like Kheldian is the only AT benefiting from it. -
Quote:Oh I meant a melee-oriented AT with a "heal other". Well, it's really not that great of a power but at least it's different for human PB and you can't use it in other forms. So far, the only real issue I have with my human only PB is the knockback. It's abundant and obnoxious. That, and the fact that it isn't my warshade.. A Kheldian foot stomp is very cool indeed though. I wish it worked with combat flight, but otherwise, I support that fully.
That being said-
Healing Flames
You can concentrate for a few moments to heal yourself. The power of the flames can also protect you from Toxic Damage for a while.
Recharge Long
Minimum Level 4 (Brute)
4 (Scrapper)
2 (Tanker)
Effects Self Heal, +Resistance(Toxic)
And the Black Dwarf has a self heal also. Warshades are superior, end of story. -
Another very annoying issue is after you change to a form from Human, you have to click all the toggles back again.
Peacebringer just has the worst design IMO. It's like whichever path you go, there's always something that don't add up. Comparing it to SoA, you really can't make a bad SoA because every power is similarily "good" (well, maybe except for Bane's mace beams) and you can still use Soldier/Blood Widow powers in higher branches.
I don't think PB is not "fun". Fun is subjective but it has some serious design flaws. I went with a human form because I think its where PB's strength is. You've got good resistance, +HP and you can heal. There is no melee AT that can heal so it gives PB some uniqueness but then human form has so many knockbacks with Solar Flare being the most annoying one and even the Seekers knockback too. Knockback effects don't stack. There is really no point in keeping kb, kb,and kb. I really wish they could change Solar Flare to knock down.
And I don't see the point in Nova except for early levels. PB's Nova doesn't stand out at all. You can at least argue PB's Tanker form is different from Warshade with a clicky instant heal and a good footstomp. They really need to improve PB Nova form or else why would anyone choose Nova form? PB human also gets Combat Hover so it's not like Nova form is the only aerial combat stance.
My PB is only lvl 32 (and probably will be for a long time) but I believe once you take all the Shields and have set bonuses, you probably can reach Tank Form level resistance and survival (especially with cosmic buffs from melee ATs and Troller/Doms). The only thing you don't have is an auto-hit Taunt and mez protection.
So all in all, I don't think people just want all-human. I think they want all-human PB because it makes sense. Maybe dual form in Nova and Tanker is good enough but when I plan that build in Mids, I feel like I have to take many powers and skip them because the Forms can't use those. Ugh! -
If you want to preserve Build Up duration, isn't it better to do BU + AS, Body/Smashing, then Placate + CS to get another Build Up and then Body/Smashing?
I've used BU + CS + Body, Smashing, Focused/Body, and then BU + Body/Smashing/Focused + Placate + CS and then another BU + Body/Smashing/Focused. I use this during trial because the ambushes shoot "fire dot" on the ground sometimes that interrupts my AS and I have no patience for AS.
I feel Focused Burst hurts my dps but it's a long range and I really don't want to drop it for Quick Strike. -
I took out my 50 Kin/Dark for two BAF runs to test Concentrated Strike.
It is a very nice buff especially that Build Up red text.
During long fight, I do BU + CS and then Body, Smashing and then use Placate + CS to get another Build Up and then do other attacks again. It's funny when you see double Build Up text. I didn't test but I doubt we get double Build Up buffs.
This makes me want to drop one slot from Build Up. Between hidden, placate and natural critical, I think 3-slotted Build Up is over kill. I can save one or even two slots somewhere else.
Now Kinetic Melee doesn't seem to do bad damage at all. You just need to click Build Up frequently which takes a bit time to get used to since I am used to "saving it" when I feel the time is right. Now I just press Build Up whenever it's up because I know I get another one with critical. -
Quick question. I see you can put Chance for Stun in Nova power. What happens when you do that? You stun yourself? lol
-
Don't feel like creating a new thread for it but I have a question related to Contagious Confusion.
What happens when I use it in Jolting Chain? Some say only the first target can trigger the proc? I know damage proc is triggered by each jump so why doesn't each jump trigger CC proc? Or does it? -
Peacebringer Human form should have some sort of mez protection (at least for stun and hold).
And what's sad is that PB Nova form isn't even the most damaging form. The human form is. So what's the point of PB Nova form besides limiting you from using useful powers like healing, build up and others?
Peacebringer has the worst design in the game and I hate to say it. Warshade is well designed.
