Oh so aoe attacks will have less chance even if it has longer recharge.

Somebody should ask if they plan on adding more variety in purple sets like Fear? Defense?
  3. They just need to create more Target AoE sets so we have more variety to choose from.

I think Posi Blast set is great for "cone" attacks. The +range does help quite a bit.

I don't think Placate is useless too.

Take SJ for example, yes Asssassin Strike procs and you get put back in hidden and your CU gets critical. This just means you can use Placate and use Spinning Strike for 50% critical rate. (or vice versa)

    The options are still there.
  5. Itrials are getting a bit better for MMs. In MoM Trial, they made it so pets are not hurt by the purple patch on the ground.

If you've done Apex, you should know how awful that final fight is for MMs. Not only there are ambushes everywhere, if your pets run through the patch, they die almost instantly.

I think the dev do know that MMs are at disadvantage in a lot of high-end stages. They've increased tier 1 and tier 2 to match Master's level.

You are not the only one that feels MMs are worse as the content gets harder. When you include all the crazy set bonuses, pets don't get nearly as much because the most you can give them is two sets of pet uniques (and now one from ATO for aoe defense). And I disagree that the key to success is Bodyguard mode. I HATE Bodyguard mode. I never understand the concept behind it. I am a summoner and not a freaking Tanker that wants to draw aggro to myself. Being a summoner-type, the last thing I want is to draw aggro to myself. I know Bodyguard mode works sometimes but I really dislike the design behind it. Call me crazy. I rather babysit the pets than trying to draw aggro to myself and let my pets choose and chase their targets.

And then you have one or two MM set combos like Robot/Trap with taunt that can solo AVs/GM because of bodyguard mode and everyone thinks MM is superior. Sadly, I don't play Robot, Thug and Demon. I only play Ninja, Necro and Merc and my experience of them are never "superior". They require a lot of babysitting. Ninja dies too quick. Necro lacks aoe damage and dies quick too. And Merc just doesn't do enough damage.

At some point, the dev needs to decide if Mastermind's base-line performance is based on Robot and Thug. If so, they've got a lot of balancing to do. :P

Synapse replied to one of the private messages that Assassin strike is supposed to proc 100% chance. It sounds a bit high to me but then again, this is a new mechanism so I don't know.

There are other bugs associated with this new ATO. Some people reported that you get put back in hidden from time to time.

2% damage buff is pretty bad. 2% damage buff on mastermind is as good as debt protection or worse!

If it's only for Mastermind Henchman power, does it mean if you slot it in your pets, every time they attack, they have a chance to proc this AoE defense buff? Is that how it works?

But, because the sets you can slot do boost recharge, you can make use of a, perhaps, little bug in your favor.
Has this been tested? All pets are set to ignore any +recharge buff, not just MM pets. The +recharge in the set can only reduce the timer before you can resummon again.
  11. Energy Melee still probably does well in Siren Call PvP. I don't pvp with Stalker so I don't know which set does well but I have to guess it's going to be Energy, Spines, Electricity and maybe SJ.

As for changes on EM, there could be some possibilities in the future.. just don't know how far into the future.

Yeah, that's right, but you can only do it on a 50.
Oh, I didn't know that purple sets still give you the set bonuses if you get maled down lower than 3 levels. Good to know!

    Thanks for the info.

Oh... so if I want to enjoy ATO starting at lvl 10, I shouldn't convert it to "super" then.

If you slot it already in a power, you can covert it using catalyst right? You don't need to un-slot it and then convert it?
  14. What's this "catalysts" I keep reading about? I got Brute's Very Rare ATO. I can covert it into something better like the Superior version? How do I do that?
  15. Damn it!!!!

I just bought two packs and the very first one has Brute's ATO. ugh.. this is addicting and I hate it!
  16. Blah.. it's good but it could be better. I think Defense is probably the easiest thing to get.

I was hoping MM's unique can boost resistance-all instead of just defense because some pets like Ninja have like ZERO resistance. If they get hit, they can die in one hit from bosses.

I would rather take a mix of 10% resistance + 5% defense aoe.
  17. My SJ/Ice is level 50 now. He took Body for more endurance and I really don't have many slots left.

Sometimes I feel I should have taken a patron aoe. SJ's aoe is quite limited. High damage but the radius is just not that big.

I can't decide yet. With /Ice, I do have several ways to get endurance back. Maybe I'll respec.

Stalker still needs to go through more testings. :P Like Blasters, Stalker is a damage-first "class" but Stalker's damage is currently behind two other melee ATs that happen to survive better. Even with the new Assassin Strike, it is unclear that Stalker always beats Scrapper in single target damage department because Stalker doesn't get damage from secondary sets (minus caltrops).

Once Stalker's assassin strikes are normalized, the dev can work on Blaster. Blaster's melee modifier needs to be 1.125 as well.

What if MM's balance is based on the fact that some pets do go in and they are supposed to die or supposed to put more pressure on the master to babysit them?

Because let's be honest, it's a whole lot easier if all range pets stay at range. They take way less damage that way and they don't aggro by chasing runners as much. That's an easy mode (IE: Robot).

The hard mode is to babysit melee pets like Ninja and Beast. They tend to die way faster by aoe attacks or melee attacks from bosses/lts that can wipe them out in one hit.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a command like that but I have a feeling that's not how MMs are balanced.

The new changes already made it to beta? I logged on last weekend but I didn't notice the new resistance in wolves?

Exactly. Shield defense should work well with Stalker. They modified Willpower for Stalker too. They didn't give it to Stalker mainly because they don't want Shield to be the only secondary with a good aoe attack. I don't even think theme matters that much when it comes to /Shield.

I will kill to have Shield Charge on my martial arts stalker. :P

Can you imagine having several /shield Stalkers to start the fight? Grant Cover works even before the fight begins! Each Stalker gives each other good +defense. I don't understand how some people say /shield doesn't work with stalker??? It works extremely well if you ask me. They just need to modify one power the way they did for Willpower.

No because the dev already defined what an Assassin should be like. An assassin should not be using Shield and a Giant Weapon. :P

Scrapper is not an assassin because they have access to both. That's by their definition. Not mine.

I prefer we define what our theme is.

I guess some people would rather wait until Beast Mastery is fully developed with a different boss pet because a lot of people don't like another Wolf boss pet.

If a lot of people don't like it, it won't hurt to wait until it's ready.

With this game being F2P, time is the most critical factor. The dev already said that for the time they need to spend on creating a "bear" model and new animations, they can create 4 more new sets and then some other stuff. I would assume four more new sets generate more profits?

I do think it's a bit rushed but Dire Wolf doesn't look bad. It's just that people who are fans of Mastermind or Summoner Class in general REALLY want a natural Druid type of theme in Beast Mastery. I don't think people dislike Wolf pets. They just think the set is too "wolfy".

Ever since Scrapper gets /shield and titan weapon, they are not an "assassin" in my book because the dev already defined what an "assassin" should be like. I don't agree with it but they obviously don't think Scrapper is an assassin, like Stalker. A REAL Assassin in their definition does not get shield and titan weapon.

Scrapper is just the base-line performance for all four melee ATs.

And stop fantasizing that Stalker will get Titan Weapon. I know they said they'll look into it in the future but how far in the future? I don't think it'll come any time soon and if it's not any time soon, then it's not coming. If they want to "break" theme and give Stalker Titan Weapon, I rather have Shield. Shield has good team defense buff and an excellent aoe attack that doesn't break hide. If the dev finally decides to let us choose themes, then I want Shield way more than TW.
  25. The worst soloing set for Blaster is Assault Rifle IMO.

Sonic Blast is actually a good soloing set!
