so much control... so much MAYHEM!
and the carrion creepers + seeds of confusion combo just never gets old

made this video this morning
anyone else loving this combo?

The coolest thing about Plant Control is Fly Trap!!! Spider Plant. -
Plant control has always been very good.
I've tried my very old Fire/Thorn 50 on test server and /thorny assault has become very good!
I hated Impale because it was a low damage, long activation attack but I think they've increased Impale's damage a lot to make it worth it! -
Judging from what I've seen, it's definitely MA. You may see a few MA at low levels but I rarely see a high lvl MA.
And there is a good reason for it.. MA doesn't stand out at all besides its cool moves. -
Favorite: Carnies (I love their screaming when they die and can be hard if you don't have mez protection)
Toughest: Night Widow (hate her Smoke Grenade!!!)
Annoying: Malta (1-min stun, endurance drain and all ranged, high lethal resistance and Gun Drone doesn't give exp!) -

Let me just end the poison debate by saying this. Its a great debuffing set but only for avs/ebs. Its not great for teams. Teams is where this set falls short. If the final power was a toggle or easily perma and had a bigger range it would fix all the problems, if they allowed the power to placed on allies too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup. /Poison has its place due to its unique debuffs but that's about it. I think everything else is pretty under-performing. /Poison is good in pvp and against AVs.
I would take /storm over /poison any day except for some AV fights but I don't fight real AVs in every mish. -
Oh yeah, MM/FF is definitely a PAIN.. a CHORE.. however you want to call it.
Ninja/FF is a very strong combo but since I am a "good" team-player, I also want to bubble all the teammates. That's a lot of bubbling! It drives me mad so when I take my Ninja/FF out, I usually solo or duo. I hate big teams with my Ninja/FF.
/FF can be strong but is the most tiresome set.
PS: The Upgrades on all the pets at once has REALLY helped my Ninja/FF!!!!!!!!! -

Poison: is pretty bad for mms in general.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you serious? Do you know how strong Poison is as a debuffer? I mean seriously.
[/ QUOTE ]
Strong yes. Single Target, yes.
/Poison is by far the weakest secondary for MM. Believe me, I've tried A LOT of combos. I think Thug/Poison is a bit better because it is easier to put Noxious Gas on Bruiser but even that is weaker than other secondaries that can provide team supports. I've tried Thug/Trap that actually put me to sleep a bit (so strong).
Poison's debuffs are a bit over-rated anyway. Freezing Rain puts /Poison to shame most of the time.
PS: mmm, I am not sure which one is suckier.. Poison or Trick Arrow. I think I'll take Poison just because I can't imagine playing Necro or Ninja with Trick Arrow.
[/ QUOTE ]
Do you know what makes /poison so freaking nasty? Spammable -heal, -regen, and -special. I've seen EB's that love stun, holds, and knock backs never pulling them off due to -73% strength and duration to their effects. That -special for instance is the difference between a malta stun grenade disorienting you for a minute, or for 15 seconds.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't find that -special so great. It is unique in /poison for sure.
Elite Bosses? They go down so quick now with any secondary besides /FF.
Against Malta, I would take /Trap over /Poison any day. The stun lasts forever and if you team, you are more than likely to face at least 2-3 lieuts with those stun grenades.
And besides, if you are /poison, you always start by holding the lieut first. I rather hold him than trying to reduce his stun duration 'cause 15s is good enough to kill me.
I do think /poison could be good in the newest SF. -

So basically, Oni is the only one that is stuck with different "modes". He either cycles only Ring of Fire + Char or two Fire Swords and then randomly throw out BoF and Rain of Fire.
Is Oni too powerful if he cycles all range attacks? Fire Blast + Ring of Fire + Char? Maybe...
[/ QUOTE ]
I noticed the oni spams ring of fire and char (with the odd fire bolt) at long range. At medium to close range he uses all of his powers.
[/ QUOTE ]
At mid-range, he is mostly stuck with just Ring of Fire and Char and Breath of Fire and Rain of Fire with 60s recharge. He rarely uses Fire Blast.
At close range, he uses the same thing but if he draws out his sword, he only cycles 2 attacks.
I am happy if Oni just cycles Fire Blast, Ring of Fire and Char and occassionally BoF/Rain of Fire. -

Any new update on Mids Hero Builder yet? I spent like 40 mins to respec my Gra/Icy last night and I was totally frustrated for some reasons.
So Power Bolt is 6s attack now? And Power Blast is 8s? And Power Burst is 10s attack?
Man, now I want to make a Gravity/Energy for pure range attack.
[/ QUOTE ]
bolt = 4
push = 8
blast = 10
burst = 14
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, Power Push is a ranged attack?!!! I've tried Blaster's /Energy for a bit and I thought Power Push is a melee attack? I've never tried Enegy Blast or Energy Melee.
Oh man, /Energy is packed with heavy heavy hitters than. You can easily make an all-ranged Dom without gimping too much. -

There are two folds in AE's success. One is it gives people more reasons to play the game. I know some of my friends like AE because they can find a team so easily now! They just log on and go to Cap and can get on a team within 5-10mins. Unlike before, I've seen people advertising LFT for an hour in Grandville.
A lot of people play online games to TEAM, not to Solo. They like the interaction. In this respect, I think AE is good for the game.
The bad side is less people are doing story content and people are still leveling too fast.
One of my friends think leveling fast means she'll need to purchase extra slots. Hey, business is business! -

By the way, one thing I don't like about Thunderstrike on Dominator is knockback. How come Brute/Stalker get knockdowns? Is it because Dominator has higher modifier for control values which make Thunderstrike a knockback?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because Elec Assault Thunderstrike was ported over from Blaster Elec Manipulation which does have knockback.
Elec Melee's Thunderstrike was specifically changed to have knockdown instead because it'd be too much of a hindrance to the melee ATs otherwise.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh ok. I've never played an /Elec Blaster. -

Hello all
Last night I came up the wholly unoriginal idea to create a character that uses only general power pool abilities. I came to the forumns here this morning just to read to see what experiences others had with this amazingly original idea (/cough). Is there a slang term for this? You know, other then lame.....hehehe
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey, with AE, you can easily lvl a MAN to 50 now. Just find a big team and start leeching...
Just remember to keep the Fortune buff on your teammates if you bought the pack. -
Dominator's Lift is a GOOD power now. It does decent damage and it's a great knockup. It's like a must-take power in Gravity Set.
Propel on the other hand.... T_T -

Okay, so Energy is now a rather good single-target damage set, and people are still debating Psionic assault... and probably will be ad nauseum.
So... how are the OTHER Secondaries? Electricity, Fire, Ice and Thorns? I know all of them were tweaked a bit, and would like to hear opinions about them...
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, before, if you want Power Boost, Icy was a much superior set than Energy Assault but now I think Energy Assault has better ST damage than Icy. Icy Assault has two aoe to play with.
Psionic Assault is still unique due to Drained Psyche. DP's regen debuff is very high, probably the highest in the game?
I am not so sure about Electricity Assault now to be honest. It sort of loses its charm after the changes because other sets have long-recharge attacks now. -
Speaking about WH, how does it behave when I put full set of stun set that has knockback proc?? I want the +range bonuse defense but would the kb proc knocks them even further?
My Fortunata has full stun set with kb proc and it kbs as soon as the stun power hits. Does this mean that when kb proc happens, they get kb BEFORE they get ported? If that's the case, it may actually help reducing the alpha damage you take right before the foes get teleported (unless you do it out-of-sight).
Has anyone tried the full stun set in WH? -
I tried to respec my Grav/Icy last night and Lift has become a MUST-TAKE power now for Gravity user! Its damage is the same as Ice Blast, even of Damage per Activation. That's amazing for a control power.
Propel's Damage per Activation is beyond pathetic. Lift has 100% knockup so why would you need Propel?? -
Right now, Ninja seems to be doing fine because Genins are doing a lot of damage as Tier 1 pets. If I lose Genins, I lose out a lot of damage output. Ninja puts too much emphasis on tier 1 pets IMO.

I did more testings last night. I think Jounins cycle attacks a bit more properly now but there are still many "pause" moments especially after the first Poison Dart. It's like they don't know if they should throw Caltrops first or just run in. Comparing to Grave Knight, Jounin's attack cycle is very "rough". Is it because Castle got rid of Grave Knight's "sword draw" so they use Dark Blast and Gloom easily at melee range? It would be nice if Jounin gets the same treatment.
The problem with Ninja's AI is when you set a target for them. If you don't set targets for them, they would choose their targets and cycle more powers. Like Jounins would actually change target and shoot Poison Dart and then go in. But if you set a target, one of the Jounins usually stands on the back especially if Genins are out.
But I think the bigger problem is actually in Oni. Oni has the weirdest AI in the game if you observe him carefully. I think his current AI is pretty messed up. It seems fine when you have all 6 ninjas out but when he is alone, he is pretty awful as a Boss pet.
To give you an example, if you don't upgrade Oni, he would only use Fire Blast at range and won't go him for melee. Ok, this makes sense to me.
If you give him the first upgrade, a lot of times he would only cycle Ring of Fire + Breath of Fire (he no longer opens the battle with BoF!!) and not Ring of Fire + Fire Blast + Breath of Fire. Oni seems to cycle more attacks when you don't set target for him because he might change target with different attacks, like Ring of fire the first target and then fire blast another target.
If you put two upgrades on Oni, he rarely uses Fire Blast. He would only use Ring of Fire and Char and if he draws out his sword, he won't use any other attacks unless the set target is dead.
In comparison to other Boss pets:
Lich: He cycles EVERYTHING when he is at close to mid range. He can't use TT if he is further away from the target which is understandable.
Commando: He also seems to cycle everything when he is at mid-range. At long range, he can't use Buckshot (lack of range).
Assault: I believe it cycles everything because all the attacks have the same range? Somebody may need to verify this since I don't have high lvl Robot.
Brusier: He used to be annoying when he only wanted to throw rock but I believe he goes in pretty easily now and when he is in, he cycles all the melee attacks.
Maybe... -
I was wondering why the dev chose to buff Lift and not Propel? Propel is really a cool power but its activation is just so darn long. Can't they just decrease the activation a bit or increase the dmg a bit more with a bit more recharge?
-
I sent a PM to Castle just one day before the new patch came out about possible bug with Jounin's AI. I've noticed that Jounin does not cycle Gambler or Sting after he uses Soaring Dragon. And if I put the first upgrade while he is fighting, he won't cycle Soaring Dragon and just use Gambler and Sting.
I have not played my Ninja after the new patch (too excited about Dominator buff!).
I will try him tonight to confirm if Jounin still has that bug. -

You would think that if something is bugged/broken 4-5 times, that should be the very first thing the dev tests for BEFORE the patch hits Live? I know if it's my company, I would!
[/ QUOTE ]
And you'd be right. They did test it. It broke in new ways each time. Sometimes it wasn't the Black Scorpion power itself that had something wrong with it, but the Unbreakable power it was supposed to work against that had changed. *end of patience*
[ QUOTE ]
Right now, I am not even sure if MM's temp is supposed to bring him out of Unaffected or supposed to cause a lot of -regen on him so he doesn't regen that much during that Unaffected period.
[/ QUOTE ]
Right now, it's broken. Get over it.
[ QUOTE ]
If he is Unaffected, can MM's power even "hit" him? So maybe MM's power is working as intended even though I don't know what MM's power actually does.
[/ QUOTE ]
Seriously, get over it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Seriously, you CALM DOWN. geeze.
You don't have to get annoyed with me because I didn't design the game. I admit I have a lot of questions/confusions because I don't like to participate in "beta". I am a paying customer and I don't want to get "spoiled" before the final product comes out. Just like if I want to see a new movie, I try not to watch too many previews. I get excited that way!
Don't blame me that I didn't know MM's temp power was broken. I didn't see any message about that in the game. Hell, I didn't even know about those temp powers because many of us were first-timers in that SF. Only one person did the SF (and he didn't finish) and he was the only MM on the team and he wasn't sure what his power was supposed to do.
I get a bit annoyed when the final product is this incomplete. That's all. In fact, the most important temp power is MM's, as far as I am concerned. We did not use any temp powers towards the end (many of us didn't even know we had). So the most important temp power is broken.. yes, I call that pretty "incomplete" final product.
Funny you quoted all the "complaints" I have but didn't quote how much I enjoy this "specific temp power" idea!
And even without reading that MM's temp power being "broken", I do think it's "possible" to beat the SF, which leads me to believe that the MM's power maybe wasn't that broken after all. My team's setup has ZERO -regen effect but we do have a lot of resistance debuffs.
I just don't know how a MM can hit a target that cannot be hit. Should MM use it before he turns into Unaffected or after. -
I think it is company's interest NOT to allow AT Respec because one of the things I enjoy the most is making new toons! It results in a lot more playing time = more profit for the company.
I think Sex Change, Body Size change or even Coloring the powers are good enough.
Side-changing actually promotes more game-play = more possible profit. I know I'll port my Archery Blaster to CoV and finally level a WS/PB to 50 in CoV!!! It'll probably take me another month or two = more profits for the company.
Hey, I am not complaining that the company earns profits from me because I do enjoy the game!
You can argue that by totally changing your powersets, you can play more but that won't last long. I mean you probably respec one powerset combo for a few days and then you try another combination for a few days and then respec again. Within a month, you've probably tried all Corruptor combos and get bored.
