I tried to farm some tickets last night. I've done 3 Gold, 10-14 rolls so far and didn't get it.
I need over 200+ merits to get that one? Ugh... I haven't done SF much. I only have about 144 merits.
What's the best way to get merits? SF or finishing arcs?
Do you get merits from finishing old arcs through Oroboro? -
So all these missions require you to solo AVs?
I think I've tried Arcana when AE first came out. It was the one that you need to find a glowie before all the ambushes came. I wasn't sure if the goal was to just get the glowie or to clear everything because getting to the glowie was easy but the ambushes were too crazy. The last wave is like Energy Melee + Radiation + self rez?
And do you do them at relentless level? I did that one at relentless and the bosses were 54. -
My very first lvl 50 MM is Merc/Poison. Comparing him to Merc/Storm, it's like Night and Day. Merc/Storm is like light years better.
/Poison has some special debuffs, no doubt but the usage is limited. It is hard to put Noxious Gas on Commando when he uses range or when the target is running. I tried to goto him to start the fight. -
Just zombies or all the undead pets??
Zombie.. just 5 slots. A mix of acc/damage and some -end recipes to get close to 95% damage and over 50% acc.
Grave Knight: I went with 3 acc/dam, 1 damage/end and one slow proc and +tohit debuff.
Lich: Like Grave Knights. -
I put Deflated Ego in my Lich today and I wanted to see how it does against the foes. I was watching the Pet Combat log the whole time and the proc was never logged. At first I thought maybe it wasn't even working since the -endurance debuff is like non-existant against foes.
So my friend and I went to Warburg and I told him to pay attention to my proc debuffs. He said he's seen Deflated Ego procs on his screen so it is working but just not showing on my Pet's Combat. I have Dark Watcher's Slow Debuff proc in Lich and it is showing in the Pet Combat in "green text". I would assume that Deflated Ego proc not showing in the window is a bug?
By the way, this proc is completely useless. Don't even bother with it. My friend's Dom said he didn't notice any difference during the whole fight. If the proc produces no visible effect in 5mins, I consider it useless. -
Quote:Oh.. Knockback no longer suppresses?I have been crying those same tears since i13, to be honest a melee toon can rival a doms or trollers holds and do more damage in the process, sad but true. You don't even need breakfree's, this aspect of pvp is laughable, well all of it is atm but this more so to me. All the carebares who cried about holds were to lazy to just carry and manage breakfree's. Castle viewed holds as a overal problem instead of a few isolated tears, the biggest joke is alot of the carebears that put us here don't even pvp now, and second is alot of them actually used mezzers and are now crying with us to get things back, becareful what you wish for when crying. But anyway kb is king now and mind doms with their op'd levetate force you to take like 40kb protect or better builds to keep the levetate spam to a minimum. the are fatal in sirens and with stalker support fatal in rv, one good levitate and you wont get up, all you'll see is AS over your toon and the option to hospital or go to base.
Well, I used to pvp a lot in Guild Wars when it first came out and then a bit in WoW and quite a few in WAR Hammer Online. All the mez powers have long recharge.. like really long.
I guess I rather have a hold that works well once in 60s than a hold that only lasts 5-6s after I tried so hard to stack and not die from doing so. That's my problem with Dom's hold now.
And how about Gravity's Lift? Does it work as well as Mind's Levitate? This is getting annoying as Mind control becomes even more important now? I just went through some pvp changes on Mids and I find a disturbing trend... some sets that used to be very PvP-friendly become even more pvp-friendly. Mind Control for one, and then Energy Melee seems even more of a good choice for the burst damage and Super Strength too. Brute's Stone Melee's Seismic Smash does 126 damage while Total Focus is 198 (is this info even correct)?? Yes, I know Seismic activates faster but who cares if PvPing in CoX is all about kiting/hitting? When is the last time you see two people fighting face to face without moving? Activation time almost becomes a non-factor, not when your biggest hitter does even less damage than Hurl Boulder?
Oh my god?? Hurl does 139 base damage? Damn... what is happening??!! I guess this explains why my Fortunate went to RV and 3 Tankers threw rock at me and I am almost dead. They didn't even need to get close to me.
I thought the goal is to promote different sets for pvp?
PS: Counters to Defense is ridiculous in higher lvl pvp. -
Oh, I guess AC has already left because it's Aug 22?
I recognize him the most from Stalker discussions!
Well, one advice I can give to you is while education is important, you should try to socialize with people with connections/power (not super power of course!).
I realize that by associating myself with people who are smart (or smarter) and hard-working, I better myself that way. Associate yourself with those that constantly talk about how to earn money and you'll learn to think that way. Yup, $$$!!! $_$ Without money, you can't afford buying/paying games! So technically $$$ can buy Happiness!
And don't think hard-working always gets what you think you are deserved. Life is not FAIR. Set your expectation at a more reasonable level. Don't take too many courses at once to over-load yourself with stress.
Good luck. -
Quote:I've seen way more Fire/Storm than Elec/Storm even though concept-wise, Elec/Storm fits.Anyone have any thoughts. To me Electric / Storm would FEEL more right and wouldn't it be easier on your end. i see how FR and RoF would be wicked combo.
Fire Blast on Corruptor is really strong because RoF scourges and it's based on pet damage, which means Blaster's RoF does the same damage as Corr's minus Scourge bonus.
I kinda like Electricity Blast, at least more than Energy Blast. -
Energy Aura is not that bad.
My friend used to have a Dual Blade / EA that he likes the most. Partly because /EA Brute doesn't attract as much aggro so he had (he quit the game) more fun with his Brute. It's a bit like sneaky Brute with un-suppressed stealth. You can literally fight from one group to another without being seen. I've seen a Fiery/EA in action that just jumps from one big group to another regardless of patrols.
I have a lvl 50 Spines/EA Stalker and I survive quite well. In fact, Energy Aura is a lot better than Dark Armor on stalker.
Your Brute can't handle 4 even-level minions?? That's your problem, not Energy Aura. I hate to say it.
PS: Oh and stop power leveling your Brute. That's one thing I find the most annoying with AE fast leveling is that I see so many players that just don't really understand their powersets. You level way too fast! -
Bane - needs an overall activation time reduction or at least reduce the # of weapon redraw. Surveillence should not cause re-draw. And also, Pulverize should be available at lvl 4 (switch places with Mace Beam Blast). It is annoying to take Mace Beam Blast or Mace Beam if you only want melee attacks (unless you take all the utilities first to bypass those range attacks).
Night Widow - Swipe needs to be a tiny bit better. Its damage is lower than Poison Dart. I know it's faster but the base damage is way too low and melee attack should always do better damage than range IMO.
Fortunata - Yeah, Total Domination is kinda meh. Actually TD is meh on anybody without Domination IMO. Fortunata is near perfect in her design. If I really want to nitpick, I would increase TK Blast's damage a bit because it's on 6s recharge. It does the same damage as Mind Blast which is at 4s.
Crab - I would put Slice on 6s scale because at 4s, it does the same damage as Channelgun with the same debuff value. I know Slice activates .33s faster but the melee vs range risk reward is not balanced for Slice IMO. If I want to melee, I want to do more damage than range. Slice is hurt because Crab's melee and range damage scale are the same at 1.00. Slice suffers from being only lethal while Channelgun does energy. It's really to the point of "why bother taking slice" unless you want a cool Slice animation? You can use Channelgun at melee range anyway! -
Quote:No offense but your Dominator can't solo better than Corruptor? I think your Dom may be doing something wrong....That's not what Mid's says. It seems to indicate that while the inherent is active it can increase a Corruptor's damage up to double the normal amount. Anyway the point was that Corrs are just better at doing damage than Doms which is why they have attacks as their primary power set. I've found playing a Dom to maximize damage output very ineffective while teaming or soloing.
When Scourge happens, it can double the damage but most of the time it's way over-kill. The point is not Corruptor just being "better" at doing damage than Doms. I am not trying to be mean but Dominator's raw damage potential is way ahead of Corruptor in most cases. What Corruptors win is all the stacking buffs/debuffs. -
I am just surprised by how expensive this recipe is. I can understand Achille's Heel being expensive but who would need this proc besides Dark Blast users? Dark Melee users have access to lethal proc and if it's brute, you have psionic proc from taunt (or smashing proc from any knockback attack). Who would pay 70mils for this negative proc is beyond me.
So pool C/D means I need to do Gold roll below lvl 30 then? -
Quote:I didn't know control was that good in PvP. Fortunata's control isn't even that good. It's only mag 3 or 4? Dominator with Domination can produce mag 8. What made Fort good is a combination of defense and damage and I took Fortunata to RV two days ago and that was beyond laughable. lol I used two purples and mind link and I still got hit like 90% of the time.. at least it felt like it. Every Tanker is running with FA (or maybe Tactics) and Rage. Defense?? WHAT DEFENSE?!Well this is the devs attempt to fix permadoms and other mezzers that could easily become OPd in pvp like fortunatas. The problem is they did to well and now mezzes are total jokes in pvp they are minor nuisances at best but can be deadly when combined with knockback.
I never know control was that big of a deal. Most people carry break-frees anyway. What's big deal is Blaster running towards you with Build Up and Aim and +range (buffed by Controller/Defender) and you are dead in 10s before any of your control even works... at least this my experience anyway.
I post here because I thought it was funny that Dom's dominated hold only last 6sish. lol My Necro/Pain could have owned my friend's Dom so hard if I wanted to. He and I were joking about it. -
I was testing my Necro/Pain in Warburg with my friend's lvl 47 Gravity Dom. He put a Dominated Hold on me and it only last about 5-6 seconds? It was a joke! I didn't even have any set bonus to reduce hold duration.
What happened to PvP??? How can Doms fight in pvp without TK if the hold duration is THAT short? I know Doms' damage is higher but still... you deal zero damage if you die in like 5s.
I haven't pvped with dom for so long... -
If you have a Pain Domination friend, one Painbringer with some +endurance enhancement will give you positive Recovery after nuking. I've tested this with my bro's Corruptor. It's pretty neat.

Quote:Radiation on Corruptor is a lot better because you get Cosmic Blast at lvl 18.I searched through the guides and couldn't find one for a Rad/Traps corruptor. Maybe my search-fu was failing, since I know I've heard these guys are viable. So...anyone have either a guide or suggestions/pitfalls/encouragements for a new, fledgling rad/traps corruptor? I'd greatly appreciate it.
I love the concept of the guy. He's basically your typical merc for hire, only he's adept at understanding how things optimally work (tools, patterns, etc) and putting "pieces" together. Imagine Sherlock Holmes only with "things" rather than "events". As such, he's basically skilled at aquiring technology and magical tools to use for the right occasion. His body is tatooed with mystic Tsoo protection spells, he has magical (rad) attacks infused with all of the technological gadgets necessary to make sure he is standing when his enemies fall. Not super powered, himself, just good at using the tools he finds to his advantage. The thing is...I really WANT him to survive and still do moderate damage. So...help me out?
It SEEMS like Rad is weak on damage, light on end, and with the -def and some procs, able to compensate for the weak damage at higher levels. Is that right? I have ZERO experienced with either of these sets, so as much advice on what powers to take, skip, how to use, slot, etc. would be helpful.
My friend used to have a Radiation/Trap. Radiation is a good aoe set. Since you are a trapper, you are more likely to be in melee range to drop Poison Trap and a natural combo after Poison Trap is : Irradiate and Neutron Bomb. I probably won't take Electron Haze but it does have good cone damage.
Cosmic Burst will give you a reliable stun (mag 3) so that will help you survive when you solo.
Just slot FFG and Acid Mortar well. Use Seekers to take alpha for you and your team. They really help. -
I tried to buy one today but man, oh man, 33 bidding with ZERO for sale and the last one sold is 70mil??? Are you kidding me?? This is only up to lvl 30 recipe.
Is this a SF drop only or rare drop?
Why would that many people need it anyway on villain side?
For 70mils, I can buy Miracle or Numina unique! -
I assume you only play Hero?
If you want to try Villain, give Merc/Storm or Necro/Pain a try!
And of course Fortunata. -

I think it is equally important to figure out why certain AT only gets few hours of play while other ATs get way more hours of gameplay.
If Player X picks Stalker to start the game, this means he must like the Assassin theme/style a lot. This also means that if a lot of new players are abandoning Stalkers sooner than other ATs, then:
1. Something is wrong with Stalker's design.
2. They may get bored with the game sooner as their most favorite AT fails to deliver = less potential money. Sure, they can switch to another AT but I usually trust the initial instinct.
Can dev tell what the new players choose when they first bought the game?
Oh and don't get me wrong, I also tend to think OUR opinions (meaning those that have more than 500 posts here!!) aren't a good measurement of what the whole picture is because obviously we LOVE the game so much that we spend a lot of time here. Majority of gamers don't put this much effort. They create a Blaster, blast a few things for a few weeks and then probably quit. They can care less if Controller is a "late-bloomer" or not.
Just like us "veterans" know about Stalker and Dominator buffs but many new-players don't.. or don't care. -
I think the "fear" effect in AA is different from the actual Fear that causes the mob to stop attacking (basically a Sleep effect).
I am not really sure if you can enhance that "fear, run away" effect. I think the duration is 3-4s and that's it.
The Fear set in AA just means you can slot more proc damage. In fact, I don't think Controller can slot fear set in AA? Controller can only put Slow and Confuse sets.
Some of the sets allowed in some powers make no sense at all. I've been pointing out for a long time that Oni can take knockback set but Oni has ZERO knockback! Give Oni Immb or Hold set! -
Yeah, I think it's highly doable. You can make a Robot character that shoots laser beam!

Quote:Just AS anything that has full HP. That's what I do. I normally would pick a boss but I would only do it after somebody on the team takes alpha or after using a purple inspiration.First time with a new Stalker and getting used to these powers. One in particular is the Assassin's Strike. The first thing I noticed with this power was the major delay before it would kick in. Now, from what I gathered, the delay should be no big thing as you will normally be in "Hide" mode so no one can knock you out before it kicks in but for the times when you are seen, then it can be interrupted and becomes useless it seems.
So, with that being said, what is the best way to use this power?
Me thinks it could be used something like this:
When on team play and going up against a group with a Boss. Have the Stalker sneak up on the Boss in Hide mode and go to town with the AS. "Boom", then the rest of the team comes in to take out the group. When in solo play and going up against a Boss, rinse and repeat as same in team play. I cannot think of any other way to use this power because once you use it, you will be seen and thus it doesn't reactivate fast enough without getting interrupted. Any other suggestions out there would be helpful.
I see Stalkers trying to AS a target that is already dying.
I think most of the time, I only get to use BU + AS once in a fight. I just use Placate + heavy hitter on a minion to quickly finish off one more target.
I've been playing Spines Stalker and I haven't started with BU + AS for a while. -
Quote:Negative Energy is the 2nd least resisted damage in the game, just a bit behind Fire damage. It could be the mob you are fighting all the time. Most don't have much neg resist at all except for the obvious ghosts and Mu (Mu also has excellent resistance to Energy, Cold and Fire). Dark Melee has quite a bit smashing damage as well so it's not pure neg. It's not THAT bad doing lethal damage. It's similar (in my experience) to neg energy. Most of the time you won't really notice it, the resists aren't too bad. Sure it may take an extra hit, but it's not bad. Then you fight a robot (zombie for neg) and you realize you're doing half damage. As long as you can avoid the handful of enemies with stupid high res, you'll be fine.
And yes I know numerically Neg is better off then lethal, but as far as the feel goes it's been similar. -
Quote:Well, Lethal damage is still playable but you will encounter mobs that have huge lethal resistance. Some are just annoying like Longbows. All LBs have at least 14-15% lethal resistance.I've heard in passing, many times, that powersets that rely on lethal damage (and to a lesser extent, smashing) end up struggling in the later game.
I'm new to the game so I'm wondering if taking Nin/*, DB/*, MA/* or Claws/* is going to result in major frustration down the line.
Robots, Malta, Crey Tankers and Ritki bosses have extremely high lethal resistance. Oh, and Ghosts too. Of all the enemy group, Malta has the most lethal resistance.
Overall, Lethal is the most resisted in the game and it's a fact but I've made a lvl 50 Claw, 50 Dual Blade and 50 Spines and a 45 Ninja Blade.
My only complaint is that Longbow is one of the enemy groups that fight starting from level 1. LB is a huge part of story arc. If you mainly do story arcs, you are constantly at disadvantage. That's one difference between Hero and Villain because Hero faces Arachno and your lethal can really hurt Mu and Fortunata and Widows. Not that we don't face Arachno enemies but LB is just too common. I say if they lower LB's lethal resistance down to 7-8%, I'll feel a lot better.
