You know what... maybe I should do the same. I mean I've played this game enough to have more than 15 50's if I want to but I don't see the point of making it to 50 if I get bored with them. I end up having so many lvl 40+ toons.
I still need a lvl 50 Brute on villain side. I have two 50 Doms, two 50 Stalkers, two 50 Corrs, two 50 MMs (both are Merc) and 50 Crab and Widow. Some of my older toons are like 45-47.
With AE, you can lvl to 50 so easily. -
Quote:Well, I tried some of the early-level procs like Deflated Ego's Chance to debuff Recovery. This recipe is beyond garbage.. no offense to the dev. I've tried it in pve (no obvious result) and I've tried it in pvp (again, no obvious result). I don't know what this recipe is good for. Yeah, I can see why this low lvl recipe is dirt cheap because it is useless.Out of curiosity I took a quick survey (blueside) of the 33 recipes that are available in the 10-14 range. I doubt that the results will surprise anyone who follows the market but basically the 12 that were added in Issue 13 were all going for quite high prices (between 10mil and 60mil) while the others were basically worthless. There were three pre-I13 recipes that had very high demand relative to their supply (i.e. up to 40 demand and 0-2 supply) but the price history for them didn't reflect that (the sales pices were sub-5mil for all of them).
Proc damage, on the other hand, produces obvious results. That I like! -
Quote:My other complaint is that I've been using my Fortunata for SF to build up my merit points but I kinda get tired of using the same toon over and over again in ITF. I want to use Crab but it is pointless to re-build merit with another toon. You might be able to "Buy the merits" by asking in this forum if anyone is willing to build you one in a level range for a specified price. I don't know what it would cost; I got mine for about 75 million each but that was before the latest round of price inflation. (thanks to MadamePistachio and RagmanX for selling me stuff I need... and I may be forgetting someone. My inbox got munched in the board swap. Thank you to the Unknown Benefactor!)
I wish I could transfer merits somewhere between my own characters. That way I don't get sick of using the same toon over and over again. -
Quote:Yeah totally.. I will never bring my Dominator to this kind of "madness" ambushes where they've got mez protection and crazy debuffs. Those bosses on Extreme have mez protection too.AE challenge missions are probably power set biased. Some people may mistake choosing options at the power set select screen as skill. I think these things could be worth doing with your best character then working to it with your weakest. From seeing it before you know what is coming and that might make up for the fact that powerset wise your at odds.

Quote:Isn't it nice to have Army that doesn't die and take aggro for ya?I ran it, comment from @Krukut. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who plans to give it a go, but stay on your toes folks!
Oh, my ill/rad doesn't lose :P
My Army (Merc) seems to be made of paper (even with 4 Pet Unique!). Any serious aoe kills them and it's even worse if I use bodyguard as they take even more damage.
I am going to change some strategies tonight. I forgot to use tornado.. that could be a good situation to cause some chaos to buy me more time to kill them slowly one by one. lol -
It's me! I died. lol I got held/stunned... and I think one of the radiation uses either Nuke or Neutron Bomb. The ambush is too much for my soldiers to handle and my hurrican debuffs are nothing. lol

Quote:Have you seen Dominator without Single Hold? I have played with two so far... T_T How do they even solo? That's just so sad. I generally try not to tell people what they should or shouldn't take, but there are instances when I just can't help myself and I have to say something to them. There have been times when its been a so-called veteran.
I have been fortunate to only have teamed with experienced players that have epics, but I am sure my day is coming with I will run into someone without it and I won't be able to bite my tongue. -
I haven't tested it but I am pretty certain Power Boost only affects powers that come from you and not from the pet. Triage and FFG are pets.
Power Boost would affect things like when you heal, debuffs and some buffs (PB doesn't increase damage buff I think) and mez duration and knockback magnitude. -
Quote:I've noticed a funny trend...Currently there's a bug where if someone gets mezzed, their toggle knockback protection will suppress and they'll get KB'd (to test this, just have someone hit you with KO Blow when you're running your melee toggle mez protection). I've filed numerous bug reports on this and have sent PMs to the appropriate rednames, so we can only hope it's been fixed in I16.
Side effect of that is Acrobatics suppresses as well, so even if you get 40 points of KB protection, Acro will still be making up about 10 of that - if someone mezzes you and then hits you with Levitate, you'll still get KB'd even though you should have enough KB protection to stop that.
Knockback used to be like so useless in PvP due to Acrobatic. It basically negates any knockback.
And after years of complaining, knockbacks have become so important while a Dominated hold gets nerfed to 5-7s?
Can't we have an in-between remedy? -
Quote:This. There are few reasons to take DS for pve. Many times your team mates will not know what the hell you just did anyway. It's sort of like wormhole in that team mates either get it or they don't get it. The time it takes to explain the use of either power pretty much negates eithers effectiveness on a team that JUST doesn't get it. Keep it copacetic . You can use both and out maneuver your dumb team which is basically you soloing whatever is going down or use neither and try to explain what you might want to do the next mob and see how it goes. If you only pve I wouldn't bother with DS.
DS is actually worse than before now because the mobs will still attack you even after Shifted. They just don't deal damage. It is extremely confusing. I am done explaining to teammates about what DS is doing.
If I need a real good "oh !@#$#" button, I just run away.
If you solo a lot, then DS is ok, at least you can control who you want to shift.
Here is the problem I have with this power. 8/10 people don't like it so that 2/10 people think it's "user's fault" for not being creative. The fact that you are trying to be creative about it proves that this power is pretty ... garbage. A power is created to have a clear purpose and DS's purpose seems to annoy more than contribute. If I create something and 8/10 people complain about it, then I'll improve the design rather than blaming on the users.
Have you seen a Stalker with Repluse? Yup.. that's my /Energy Stalker! I took it for a while and try to make myself feel good about taking this power. I eventually stop "justifying" my action once I have access to patron powers. It is a very "questionable" power on Stalker. I do feel it may have a purpose in PvP but I don't pvp much and Defense set is joke in pvp now anyway. -
Quote:Ninja also dies the easiest... believe me. It doesn't matter how much damage you do if you die in seconds. Genins are extremely squishy. You need a good defensive secondary to babysit them or a good combination of healing/buffs.No one has said any thing about Ninjas they may be the best all rounded [range vs melee] out there the teir 1s / have I think 4 melee and 3 range teir 2s / well a little less equal 5-6 melee and 2 range and teir 1 / 2 melee and 5-6 range so they seem closer.
I like Genins a lot actually. I love their throwing stars. I am not a big fan of Crane Kick on them as they have buggy AI when a foe is knocked back.
Ninja's biggest problem is Jounins IMO. I can live with squishiness but Jounin's AI is the worst of all.
If Jounins only use Poison Dart once and then go in for melee like Jack Frost and Stone pet, then Ninja's total dps can be impressive. I am sick of goto Jounins and then they get stuck on using Caltrops... -
Quote:Well, I wouldn't go THAT far...Mercs with procs don't become "on par" with other sets in single-target damage, they frickin' destroy. I wouldn't mind seeing them buffed, but from what I've seen, they honestly don't *need* it.
I have two lvl 50 Merc/Poison and Merc/Storm and both have AH and Lady procs. They are NICE. It's extra damage that they didn't have before. I think their damage is decent now.
Come to think about it, Merc's damage is indeed quite low before the procs. It's low because they spend like 2-4s on each attack. Activation time is very important to factor in dps.
Spec-Ops' controls need some buffs. -
I've seen quite a few VEAT without TT: Maneuver or Mind Link. I really want to say something to them but....
Do they even know how good TT: Maneuver is?? -
Quote:I tried to get Shield Breaker proc for my Fly Trap last night and it's even worse! The most recent ones were sold between 90-100mils???!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous! Unique Miracle and LoTG +recharge don't even cost over 60mil.So you don't want to do 10 Strike Forces yourself... and you don't want to pay someone else to do 10 Strike Forces. That's a problem.
I looked at the levels available, and the dates sold and, you're right. They suck and there aren't any out there. All the "1 to 10 million" sales seem to be from before double-XP, sometimes months before... but you could put 10-million-inf bids on level 19-22 and 25, and get most of that inf back.
Did dev increase the drop-rate of the new sets when they first came out? I hope so....
I mean I want to try the recipe on my Lich but I don't think it's worth over 90mils just to "try it". ugh!!! -
Quote:I know of all the characters I've made, my Stalker gets the least "invite". I have to literally ask people to take me and if his team already has a Stalker, that means "no thanks" to me.QR
I'm not too interested in AT actual popularity other than due to the possibility of the devs caring. IF the devs actually buffed stalkers and dominators due to their low population, then I'd care to see because it could mean that less popular ATs are next on the buff line.
That being told, the only popularity I truly care about is the demand. I don't care if stalkers, dominators or tanks are popular, I care if they are desirable on teams and if there is a low limit of desirability. Would you consider a 2nd dominator a waste? how about a second stalker? second tank?
That's the kind of popularity i think truly matters in the end, and sometimes I think that's the type of popularity the devs talk about when they say an AT is not popular enough.
But I can equally say people don't want to invite more than one MM to the team due to lag issue but that's another story.
I think one Tanker is good for a large team but having two Tankers or one Tanker and then another Brute would be too much IMO. If I have a choice, I rather not invite two Tankers but a lot of times I don't have choice. I would be lucky to have a full ITF or LGSF team! -
Quote:Mmmm, I guess I won't bring Dominator then. LOL I remember those bosses can't be held for like one full minute. They used god-mode or something. Yeah, good luck for my dom to kill one, let alone there are 3 of them.yes, to kill each wave. It is very challenging to say the least. Mine is designed to debuff the daylights out of anyone in range. And lets just say people at the def cap will be seeing a lot more numbers than they are used to. My SD/Fire tank (not quite soft cap but 40% until he gets all of his sets) got debuffed to the point of -95 def which iirc is the defense debuff floor. Anyone have any numbers on -def floor?
I am going to try yours tonight before True Blood. I'll use my Merc/Storm or Necro/Pain. -
Quote:To kill each wave? Did you do it? How did you kill those 54 bosses that can't be held? I was using my Fortunata? I couldn't hold any of them for some reasons. The goal of Arcana's challenge is not to find the glowie. Read the instructions
I remember the 54 bosses were using energy attacks, please green clouds around them (I assume that's Radiation's Choking Cloud) and even defensive secondary which I have to assume it's Willpower because I think I heard "Strength of Will sound.
I tried it when it first came out. Haven't done any recently. -
Quote:That really depends. SFs offer much better merits/time than story arcs. The downside is that you need to put together a team for them. If you get on your server's global channels you can often find teams being put together (or better yet start one yourself). If all else fails head to Cimerora and find an ITF team, there's normally someone trying to form one.
I have to do over 8-10 SFs just for one lvl 30 Recipe... I begin to wonder why do I even bother? lol -
-
So when you use Ablating attack, it procs all the foes around you? Wow.. this is cool!

Quote:But don't defensive sets have knockback protection higher than 100pt? How do you knock them?Lift and Levitate are about mag 35 slotted, Power Push is around 45, and Force Bolt is I think 54. There's still a 10-second suppression on knockback but that's largely irrelevant when someone KBs you and mezzes you as soon as you get back up, because if that person's leading off a damage spike you'll be dead before that hold wears off.

Quote:Mmmmm, I am looking at Mid's right now and Stalker's Energy Punch (4s attack) does 61.2 damage. Both Stalker and SoA have 1.00 damage scale. Widow's Swipe at 4s only does 44.5 dmg but with a chance to tic toxic damage up to 3 times.Swipe is fine the way it is. Compared to other tier 1 melee attacks its actually ahead of the curve DPA wise. Looking at fire, dark, and stone tier ones. It does more damage and has a faster activation time then stone fists. It has the same activation and damage as shadow punch but has the dot component. It does slightly less damage then scorch, but has a faster activation time that makes up for it. In addition swipe has the -20% recharge/speed, I'd say its an excellent attack.
Stone Fist 1/1.188 = .84
Shadow Punch - .84/1.056 = 0.80
Scorch 0.84 fire + 3*.1 fire/1.32 = 0.86
Swipe - .8 Lethal + 3x.08 toxic = 1.04/1.056 = 0.985
Poison Dart's base damage is 55.6 which is already much higher than Swipe's 44.5. That's where I have problem. A range attack shouldn't have higher base damage than melee at the same recharge rate. Yes, I know Swipe has 20% slow debuff but Poison Dart has -25% regen debuff. Putting secondary effect aside, I think Swipe is under-performing and I won't take Swipe because of this.
The same reason why Channelgun > Slice.
This is just nitpicking because the easiest way to do is just to avoid taking those powers which I did. Between Swipe VS Poison Dart, Dart is an easy winner. Between Slice VS Channelgun, Slice is an easy winner. Both Poison Dart and Channelgun are long range attacks too! -

Quote:While you may not see Stalkers, I rarely see a Stalker killing Tankers in RV. If the Stalker has defensive secondary, then it will be totally destroyed by your Focused Accuracy or Rage.I've been hanging around in RV a lot recently..and I have come to realize, all that I see there are stalkers..and by see, I mean their broadcasts. I have tried a lot of things to take them down, and so far, my tank can only deal with the occasional ninja. So i ask you experienced PvP'ers out there, what is the ideal build to take these guys down? Thanks in advance
