  1. You know what, I have to say Radiation blaster is probably the best on Blaster than on Corr/Def.

I have a lvl 42 Radiation/Sonic Corruptor. Radiation has good aoe but the ST attack chain is really awkward. I hate spamming Bolt for little damage and X-ray being a 4s attack has 1.67s casting time (making it one of the worst range attacks). I only use Bolt to debuff the target's defense so my remaining powers hit easier.

And I've heard nothing but complaints about Radiation Blast on Defender like super low damage...blah blah blah. And the -defense debuffs are really overkill on Defender. Do they need to stack that much -def?

The reason I say Radiation Blast looks very good on Blaster is that 1. Bolt recharges at 4s making it a decent attack and X-ray recharges at 8s. 2. Cosmic Blast is a mag 3 100% stun which helps Blaster solos very well.

I have a SG mate that made a Radiation/Energy Blaster. He said he will only play Radiation on blaster and he deleted his /Rad Defender. As far as I can tell, his Rad damage is really high but he does draw a lot of aggro when he goes in for pbaoe.

If your goal is to blapper, you can just focus on using Cosmic and one pbaoe and one target aoe. You can ignore the cone. Start with Cosmic at range and once you are in melee range, use Energy attacks to stack stuns on bosses. Oh and you are right that use rad attacks first and then use your two Vet Reward attacks. The -def helps big time.

Night widows has no redraw because their skill tree has both mental AND claw skills in it.

and a bane is not a widow, the widows and spider soldiers aren't really....related much, skill-wise.
This still doesn't explain why Bane needs to redraw by using Surveillance which belongs to his branch.

And duh, I know Bane isn't Widow.
  3. What is the most powerful "regular" boss in your opinion?

Super Stunner is extremely annoying IMO because he drains TWICE (the rez drain is the worst) and if he casts Static Field, it's also slowing you down and putting squishies to sleep.

However, I think my vote still goes to Master Illusionist. She is like the !@#$ of all. She is very hard to kill with that high regen and phase out and she casts so many annoying pets including Dark Servant and 3 Illusionists.
  4. What's up with all these Power Pool discussions? Are they really going to introduce more or it's just pure "wish list"? I guess if we talk about it more, it's more likely that it would happen? :P
  5. This could be off-topic but I took out my lvl 50 Blood Widow build (follow up, double Assault, and no mental powers) tonight to run some +4 x 6 mission against Longbows (Villain tip). Longbows at +4 and with warden can be very very hard. Those sonic grenades can end you life so fast after all the debuffs.

Anyway, I brought up Blood Widow because she makes my Stalker looks so weak that's all. I know I haven't really IOed my stalkers but I forgot how strong night widows are.

Not sure if Night Widow should be the base-line for Stalker's performance on a team but yeah, Stalker still needs more help IMO.

I couldn't make up my mind if Stalker REALLY needs help. Well, I've been playing mostly my Kin/Dark Stalker and while Burst is good (broken), Stalker's damage is really not that high. Or is Night Widow's damage too high and too fast? Lunge and Slash have crazy high Damage Per activation.

Ugh.. not sure what I am talking about here. It's late 1:17am. I just finished that +4 x 6 Longbow mish with NW and she makes my stalker feel so small.... maybe a well invested Stalker is a lot different but I know my NW also brings good buffs for the team. Conclusion, I think Stalker still comes up a bit short and I think mostly in damage department. I've teamed with some Tankers and man, can they survive crazy well. I just can't say the same for my Stalker "man, my damage is so crazy high!". I feel my damage is good but not crazy good. This AT should have the highest melee damage IMO either during short or long fights.

    IIRC
    Bu-AS-Placate is Empower
    Bu-AS-Ablating is Sweep

both of which should be available in the earlier levels.
Oh, now I remember.. I skipped Ablating when I level my db because I didn't want to have too many attacks in the end. I think I've only tried Sweep combo twice. I didn't like the damage. The knockdown is good but then I fell in love with BU + 1K Cut to start the battle which also offers knockdowns.

I really only use Empower when I solo.

Holy cow.. 50% lethal resist? Can't they reduce some? That's a bit outrageous. And Longbows also have the most resistance against lethal if I remember correct. Crey Tankers have huge resistance against lethal/smashing too.

Damn, some Doms can solo an ITF??? You can put those nictus to "sleep"? And solo Stateman TF?? Mind control?

I would like to see the proof of this.

Well, dominator has Drained Psyche which is a major key in soloing AVs. The -regen makes a huge difference in long fights.
  9. Stalker dual blade is what I call a very good mix of ST and AoE damage. It has better ST damage than Spines for sure and two high damage cones.

It offers some versatility but two of the combos are tied with BU, AS, Placate which means you can only choose one at the beginning of the battle.

Attack Vital is definitely ST and it's a very good source of ST damage. The problem with DB is that you have to wait until lvl 18 to get the first combo I think.

Yeah.. I can see Fire doing good damage on Malta. Well, I just know most my characters with lethal damage hates Malta. I think Malta's lethal resistance is as high as 30% in general? Those robots?

Well, you are only bringing up melee toons with defensive sets. I think most squishies will hate fighting Carnies/Malta way more than high level CoT. I am only bringing up CoT being weaker past lvl 40 because CoT starts out very strong in comparison to other enemy group.

    Bubbles please

I can care less if Corruptor gets force field.

    I only want /Poison!
  12. I've been playing my Kin/Dark Stalker a lot lately.

I am currently in love with BU + Burst and since I run teams all the time on freedom, I rarely use BU + AS. The only time I use AS is after the alpha is over and I see a lonely boss.

They can really cut down AS's activation time IMO for pve purpose.

In fact, after I fully slot my Concentrated Strike, I use Assassin even less.
  13. Yeah, all the -damage is probably better than 100% chance to stun. I just don't notice the -damage that much. Maybe the targets die too quick. I need to find a Hero/AV to test the -damage.

Do most AVs/Heroes have high resistance to -damage debuff?
  14. By the way, I was a bit surprised that the stun chance isn't 100%. CS seems like a typical Total Focus type but doesn't have the same stun chance and costs the same endurance. The activation is a tiny bit faster even though all Kin attacks look "slower" because the actual damage comes at the end of activation; whereas some attacks may deal damage earlier and then you are stuck in that activation (example Midnight Grasp does damage very fast and then you are stuck there for a bit).
  15. Speaking about enemy difficulty, Circle of Thorn is the weakest past lvl 40 for some reasons. CoT starts out strong (probably the strongest) and it's nasty with whole bunch of ghosts and a Mage with force field and earth control powers. The Earth mage era is also very nasty but after earth mage, the whole CoT group becomes the easiest to maul through. Maybe it's because both Carnies and Malta are harder which makes CoT easier..it seems.

Does it critical out of Hide like all other Widow melee attacks? Anyone have any info on this power?
I have it on my Bane build. In fact, I went through a respec to fit Shatter Armor and made my Bane all melee.

I would start BU + Shatter, Shatter Armor. I save placate for another Shatter or Crowd.

It fits nicely on Bane for ST damage. Shatter Armor's smashing damage is about the same Shatter's total damage after Toxic DoT.
  17. Oh oops.. lol It's Super Stunner. ugh

He stacks arctic breath (patron pool cone) on top of venom grenade for a 35% AE resistance debuff (55% for toxic damage) and can add 20% resistance debuff to a hard target with surveillance. My huntsman also has enough status effect protection that I don't think he has ever been mezzed - although he sometimes gets KB'ed since I only slotted one -KB IO. If you want more defenses you could go with a crab huntsman instead of a bane huntsman - trading the extra def in cloaking device for some fairly nice resistances and tank level status protection in fortification, although you would also lose the extra debuff in surveillance.
Geeze..you even took Arctic Breath. That's a lot of aoe!!!

And I agree that Huntsman brings more to the table than Blaster. I don't think there's any AT that can compare with Blaster's range damage but that damage comes with a pretty heavy price = lack of mez protection and almost no defense.
  19. When did they add Super Freak to Freakshows?

That dude has made Freakshows so much more annoying to deal with. I hate him but I am glad the dev made it harder as freakshows were farmed so much.

That auto-rez's radius is so large that it's almost impossible to get away and the worst is when he casts static field. He doesn't do a whole lot of damage but he just keeps draining and puts people to sleep.

I hate him but I enjoy him. Nice challenge to the freakshow mob.

    Claws or NB?

I would say at higher level, Ninja Blade's ST damage is better but Claw should be quite close after Eviscerate change.

Shockwave is a very decent aoe power but I always tell myself that I should be happy that my stalker even has aoe to begin with. Hell, I am even happy with NB's flashing steel.

Claw and Ninja Blade's gameplay are quite different. As a Claw, you have two range and you should try to knockback the mobs to an obstacle. As Ninja Blade, you may need to use the defense attack and try to find a good spot for Golden and Flashing Steel.

Meaning that there is a 20% chance to recharge buildup anytime you use CS after placate or from hidden, and then a 20% chance to recharge buildup on any 10% chance to crit out of hide/placate.

So from hide/placate 1 out of 5 CS's should recharge buildup. If scrapping it out you have a 1 out of 10 chance to have a 1 out of 5 chance to recharge buildup.

So teamates have an impact on how many chances chances you have to have a 20% chance to recharge build up.

(If that makes sense, not the mechanic but what I said)
It makes sense to me but I normally only reserve one Build Up per spawn. I don't like using build up just for one last boss because that means I have no build up initially for the next spawn.

I usually run teams myself and I already need to wait for 8s to get ready for the next spawn. 8s is fine with me but I enjoy Build Up + Burst so much that I would hate not having build up ready for next spawn. This means I don't really rely on CS's build up instant recharge. If it happens great (not that I really pay attention to), and if it doesn't, then I just hit hard.

The only time I think this feature matters at all is during very very hard battle. Other than that, this feature is almost like a "non factor" to me.

I did placate + cs to test the feature. In reality, it would benefit way more if I do placate + burst to a group or placate + assassin on a boss. There is really no need for placate + cs.
  22. Funny I don't like caltrops much especially on stalker.

Exaggerated much? lol I like villain-style but I am not so sure if my corr can reliably solo +2 x8 at lvl 22.

But yeah I agree there is a bit of difference for each side. I do see more people putting on "auto healing" on blue side. Those annoy me.

I like to compare Demon Prince VS Oni. Both of them are kinda similar except Price actually uses all his powers and Oni has different "modes". Prince makes Oni looks really bad IMO.

When Oni draws sword, he won't cycle any other powers (most of the time).
