The Phants decoy has healback too and I think its a much higher %
[/ QUOTE ]
All the damage of SW, PA and the phants decoy heals back 100%, but on the power you can enhance for Damage the bonus from the enhancement doesn't heal back.
So SW and PA only have a small % of healback, while the phantasm decoys has a 100% healback because his damage can't be enhanced. -

Ok. Said the confused giant. But if anything goes wrong then Ill blame you for it.

LOLOLOL!!!
Poor Aero, even the last one that arrives wants to blame him!
Very well done, as always D -
Don't listen to what they say, just try for yourself because there's some people (like me) wich still enjoy tankers a lot and there's people that enjoyed tanking only when tankers where uberly overpowered and they could take on 200 +5 mobs without a scratch and that now are clearly [censored] off that this can't be done anymore.
Anyway, to the questions:
Taunt now only works on 5 foes(as do any other form of Taunting, like Provoke and Khelds Antagonize).
Imo Burn is not useful anymore unless you team for sure with controllers that can at least immobilize the mobs or you're fire/ice and lay down the Ice Patch before the burn, otherwise the mobs will just flee from the Burn patch and take little damage.
You should be aware of the agrro cap, that now is set to 17: you can't aggro more than 17 mobs at once, if you are at the cap and try to Taunt more, they will just ignore you, however if you attack them, they'll be aggroed, but you'll lose aggro from some other that were aggroing you before the attack.
Now Blazing Aura can be slotted for Taunt Duration, because every tanker primary have an auto-taunt aura to help them keep aggro since the Taunt nerf.
Another important thing to know is that ED (Enhancement Diversification) kicked in and it makes so that after the 3rd SO of the same type you put in a power, you get very little bonus(so no more 6 slotted shield for dmg resistance, 6 slotted stamina, 6 slotted burn for dmg and so on)making any SO more than 3 almost useless.
If you want some advice on tanker's build in I6 you can check the Tanker forum aswell -
From what I know the Devoured are former human corrupted by Hamidon, I read aswell in a previous post or maybe in the US post that he was once human, I don't know that for sure tho.

I so hope that there is a 'clever' way to take Hami down. I can't see why the Devs would put those doors in there other than for content that was never added.
What about clicking all 9 doors at once?
Edit:
My first thought was the walls were there to contain water and that the doors might release the water into the bowl. I can't think why that would hurt Hami though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Those aren't actual WALLS, are lines of GM that don't wander around like ALL the other GMs in the Hive, they just stand there, blockin the ground path to Hami.

Use time travel to get back to the point where Hami first began. Maybe take him on in human form. Bowl would form the portal itself.??

[/ QUOTE ]
I was thinking along the same lines, maybe take him down just as he turned into a blob. I doubt it'd need 27 or more if he was a 'human'.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe 27 people are needed to solve the riddle tho..
And as an end-game challenge they cud've made him so that those 27 ppl are needed to take him down, even if in human form or half-human. -
Ok, I may add my long forgotten Healer in here, i rolled him just to reserve the name, so that makes 2 of em, but not my priority atm, they are
Artist of Shredding, ice/EM tanker
Medicine Man, Empathy/Dark defender -
I think that there MUST be another way to take him down, because otherwise they would look far too much silly by talking of balance between ATs but making an end-game challenge doable only with massive amount of only 1 AT(controller to hold him), they must've thought of something where every AT is involved, plus, the Hive is far too big and there's too many suspicious things about it..
But then again, it might be just my overextended imagination -
I'm sorry for the short advice but I can't come at this respec because I don't know if i'll be home from work in time :\

Anyone thought of asking the Dev's if you are barking up the right tree? They may just tell you that the brute force way is the only way...or they may hint around something else...

Adapting an inactive character ( perhaps because they are lvl 50 ) to new rules ( ie nerfs or buffs ) is probably more of a pain than adapting an active character, like my tanker Golden Golem who was in his early 40s when I6 hit. It took me a good 2 weeks to actually want to adapt and when I finally did use it I was pretty happy with it. I like my tanker still, despite the fact that I perhaps only play him once a week.
[/ QUOTE ]I adapted my troller 2 times, had to relern how to play him twice, he's not uber as it was used to be but still I play him, maybe there's some people that only want to play overpowered toons, like the current MM(soloing AVs, facing team sized spawns, taking on +6 foes, all things I've seen with my eyes)but they will cry yet again when they'll get tuned down, scream, yell and whine when they'll get 'nerfed' (not brought in line, mind, always NERFED)..Pah..
@Cuddles, my post isn't just for you, it's a general question to all those that keep saying that tankers are gimped, unplayable, useless and the such; but if you try and play him a bit it's not true!
If for you being non-gimped means making the work of a whole team all alone while facing +6 enemy, then you ARE gimped, but in any other way, there's no gimped toons(not as gimped as whiners keep saying anyway)why you don't see any defender(at lvl 50 now they can heal, buff or debuff less than they were lvl 30-35 before ED, but they don't cry), controller(our control has been so weakened that's just ridiculos now), scrapper(SR anyone? But still i see loads of people playing SR scrappers) or blaster whine and reply to every post always with the same reasons('We're nerfed, we're useless!')?
Maybe because everyone had to adapt, but there's people willing to and people that just want their life easy, because there's hell loads of lvl 50 out there that instead of complaining just made some work and brought their toons up and running...
When tankers were the uber herding and unkillable god-like machine you could've found loads of them online, everyone and their brothers playing tank for the easy route to 50, now that they are a normal AT you barely see 10-15 of them online server-wise, lol! -
[ QUOTE ]
maybe but its so depressing seeing what he has become since all the nerfs
add me as global friend mate id love to play with you even if its just with my alts or in cov
@mr cuddles I think or maybe @mr_cuddles can't remember.
[/ QUOTE ]Pah, for sure you can't herd full maps of +6 anymore but tankers are still very viable, you just need to adapt, all these people crying their eyes out because they are nerfed and gimped and 'Ah, those were the days..' are just too lazy to try and adapt!!
We all had to adapt, I lost 3 pets with I5, I had my AoE holds severly gimped but STILL you see loads of people playing controllers..They've been tuned down to the other ATs, maybe for tankers have been more dramatic because they were SO OVEPOWERED that it was ridiculous, so they suffered more for the loss, but ANY AT HAD TO ADAPT, WHAT'S WRONG WITH TANKERS THAT THEY CAN'T ADAPT BUT JUST CRY?!?! -
If i should roll a tanker now I think I would start it as a scranker because without SOs your def/res are really poor, once hitting 24 for the first respec I would drop a few attacks and get more on the defensive..
For all the Invulnerability advice you may want you look look either HERE or HERE.
For the Battle Axe I can give no tips because i never tried it, but the blog of my Invulnerability tanker is in the thread I started and all the playing experience I found out! -
WOuld like to try this but since I'm unable of properly alting I may bring only one maybe 2 more alts(if I'll be still here).
Signing up Artist of Shredding ice/EM tanker, for sure tho! -
Just a quick question, wouldn't be more hold-silly a grav/rad with Choking Cloud and EMP Shockwave?
Or at least a Grav/TA with Ice Arrow? -
Now all that I need is a full team of people not afraid of dying and with some spare time, my plan is to try and clear those woods, see if something can be found around there as they are the only 'hidden' spots in the whole map, the rest has no trees at all, I may have an empath, I may supply the tanking, so we need maybe another empath or some sort of damage dealing, say 3-4 blasters and a couple of trollers.
If I manage to put up only one team this may be very slow, but this may be faster if we arrange a couple of teams, no need to specialize, respec or anything, just some PvE vs GMs in the hive.... -
Well....
Actually the Devoured are former Heroes twisted by the DEs to join their ranks and iirc Hamidon himself was once a human.... -
After some hours of exploration in the Hive there's some stuff I found at least weird, I'll use THIS image to explain some of my thoughts..
The red lines are GMs walls, they're all lined up in tight formation and they don't wander around like everything else in the Hive.
Near those walls there's ALWAYS at least 4-5 Devouring Earth's Lieut, of lvl 42-45 that are found nowhere else in the hive.
the point marked 1, 2 and 3 are areas with loads of trees, with inside some monsters(that caused me some debt)wich I(with a proper team)would like to check out.
The area highlighted in yellow is an area where there are NO GM walls and the only way trough wich you can reach Hami via sprint(or while escorting someone, avoiding the walls).
The N° 4 is the abandoned Portal Corps factory, the only place where there are no GM spawn.
Now I can think of those 3 small woods as something similar to the Sewer Trial's Shield Generator and those lvl 42-45 DEs as some possible help(maybe they'll go back to their original heroic self if something is made in the right way..).
Any other opinion? -
The strats currently used in the US is as follow:
[ QUOTE ]
You have two groups: a kin cell and the attack/hold group.
The kin cell is made up a several kinetics, a full team of tanks and a couple of empaths. At the very beginning, the kin cell teams run into the bowl and surround the nucleus with the kins and emps on one side and the tanks on the other. The tanks start to auto-taunt the nucleus and the kinetics use the nucleus as a never-ending battery to recharge the tank's health. The emps are there to rez anyone that falls by accident and to supplement healing as necessary. Also, the tanks should have their self heals optimized. Dullpain/earth's embrace/hoarfrost should be 3 heal and 3 recharge slotwise. Healing Flames should be the same along with hasten if possible.
The main group is made up of everyone else and all other AT's. Once the kin cell is setup and the healing has a steady rythym, the main group enters in perpendicular to the kin cell. This makes sure that only the tanks are feeling the attacks of the nucleus. You could also have a PA drop team that helps to grab the aggro of nearby mitos. The main group should have a healing blanket as normal.
Once the main group is in the bowl and the healing is steady, the hold phase starts. Once the nucleus is held, unload and take him down as normal.
NOTE: the same optimal number of controllers/holders is required for this strat. The only bonus is that with this strat you bypass the mitos and can take the Hami down in as little as 5 to 10 min. That's right you heard me. The first time we used this on Champion we took him down in 36 min without mitos, and other servers have taken him down in 20 minutes.
The only problem you'll have is lag. With many, many heroes in the bowl you will see bad lag. Also since everyone is involved in the bowl from start to finish, you'll find that more people could be receptive since they're not sitting on the sidelines. If you have too many people and the lag is too bad, then you can have two main groups one on each side perpendicular to the kin cell. Have the group stay at max range for the holders/blasters, etc.
If the lag is still too bad, have melee get their hits while in there and then tell them to get out. If you don't have enough holds, then have blasters hold only with the trollers and defenders and have all the rads in the bowl spam AM as often as possible. You can use scrappers as an alternative to take the hami out. We did it with 12 scrappers one time.
Anyways, I hope this did the strat justice and I hope it helps you guys out.

Got my debt cap explorin the Hive right now, I've seen the GMs in formation, seen the lvl 42-45 DE liuets guarded by those formations and looked around the hive a lot....
Found really nothing useful out of them, but it seems that those GMs are guarding the spots that lead to Hami via Sprint, while we all rely on travel power to go there... -

Oeps jiaozy, you got ur ill troller all gimped according to what you're sayin in this thread...
Never told you i like the name though
[/ QUOTE ]
If people likes rubbish PvP and makes build for that I don't need their tips, my troller does an excellent job in PvE and that's what matter..
A troller skipping his AoE Hold?!?!? In wich other dimension!?!?
A kinetics skipping Syphon Power? GOOD GOD! Debuffing a foe(ok, a single one) and buffing your team?
That's ridiculos to skip!!
Same goes for Group Invis(wich is better in pvp aswell IMO as it uses no end while active and it's perma with just 3 rec red)
Awww.....I am gimped because I can't slow my foe down in pvp while i go at SS speed....
Shame...
I think i'll delete the toon.....
You just make me laugh, in missions I DON'T need to run at SS, I DON'T need to Deceive that mob(I may have to have some nice show, but that's all)while i NEED to help my team as much as I can(group invis and syphon power) and achieve the best control possible(flash), so if you're looking for someone not GIMPED for PvP don't look at me as my build is pure PvE build, where instead than Deceive I'll pick ANY OTHER Illusion control power...
I even have the Leadership pool wich loads of people doin pvp don't pick(or they used not to pick it till Stalkers)..
I'll stand on my points: Deceive sux and Syphon speed is useless unless you're using it as travel power.
Tried them both for loads of times and that's all i can say about them.
If other people like those powers they're free to pick them, it's not my toon, but I'll just say my opinion because I was asked it and you'll never call anyone gimped because other people shows how great is Syphon Speed 'wow you can quad stack it' and link some maths to show that Deceive doesn't suck as badly as I'm describing it.. -
