  1. I was thinking of going ice/ice. The thought of arctic air + chilling embrace gives me chills! It just made me wonder about the max you could slow mobs? I want to be able to stack both of those powers, but will they stack and to a degree that matters and it noticeable? TYVM!

    PS: This question also kinda concerns the new MM I want to make Demon/Storm. I am also hoping to mix the demon princes chilling embrace with snow storm!

    Plant/Rad?

    Thanks for all the replies. I think the trouble with my plant/storm is what you were saying, my approach. I am not 100% confident on what to open with most of the time. The mezzes are also troublesome lol. I was doing CoS since they die so quickly to my thorn/pet damage, but the master illusionist/illusionist always get me mezzed with normally gets me killed after while. I tried council also, but warwolves are problematic with their slow resist and their KO blows lol.

    I started carrying a full load of break free which helps a lot, but I am still not sure how I should open to take less alpha. I use CC a lot and I think that might be the best, but I was also thinking about snow storm and how that might be better to keep them all in place for seeds. I have also thought about dropping aid self, and doing a respec to get spore burst and put call of the sandman chance for self heal in that with my hibernate and that might end up being of more use to me solo. There are so many choices lol.

    Dark Brute

    My dark/dark brute does a ton of damage and the only brute I have had so far that I feel very safe almost all of the time soloing +1/+8 and it is fairly easy so I know I could go higher and be fine. I just have an IO build with some expensive unique added in. The only thing I would change is I would drop OG now for soul transfer. I took OG just to try some procs and I only ever use it for fun atm. Once I get the AoE Immobile I can see it having a lot more uses in groups. (I did not show to 50 since I am not 50 yet lol) I also think tough for a dark/dark brute is not needed at all. I just don't think the end consumption is worth what you get personally, I tried it with and without and I do just as good without and save a lot of end and I don't have to take the useless punch. OH and I also suggest for most DM builds that they do not take shadow maul, just imo it slows down my damage and honestly gets me killed sometimes.

    The only mobs that give me major trouble atm would be CoH and there huge accuracy/to hit de-buffs since all my stuff needs a check, so they kick the crap out of me most of the time and make me want to add more accuracy to my attacks and soul drain/dark consumption which normally are fine with nothing. When I add in more sets I should be fine with them though. This is just my leveling build atm basically.

    Plant/Rad?

    I am wondering why I do not see any guides or post about plant/rad? It seems like a nice combo. My plant/storm is 46 now and I do like him, but even with hibernate and aid self it seems like he dies fairly easily and that can be quite annoying (on +0/+8 or +1/+8). I REALLY like my L50 fire/rad and the self heal is always awesome and INSTANT which is great. I am thinking about making plant/rad next and wondering if anyone has tried it and if anyone has any thoughts on it? I am sure local man will make some comments also which are always welcome! TYVM!

    PS: I make all my controllers to solo +0/+8 or +1/+8 so any comments on doing that is welcome also. I know pretty much any combo will be fine in groups, I was looking for mainly solo comments or suggestions, but all are welcome.
  5. Well, I love brutes and scrappers both and I know that /Shield is much better on a scrapper because of the higher base damage, but how big is the difference? I am leaning towards scrapper BS/Shield since it is so simple to soft cap, but brutes also have Super Strength and I like thinking about rage+SC+FS. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated! TYVM!

  7. Hello, I have a few questions about some things I can't figure out!

    #1 How do I put "Monsters" in my missions? They are giant like GMs, but they are just "Monsters" not Giant Monsters. The one I did they were all Level 1 "monsters". (Maybe I am not high enough to purchase it yet?)

    #2 I wanted to make a mission with longbow where they have the powers I pick. I can't figure out how to take a standard longbow and edit his powers? Is this even possible? I know it let's me create my own minions etc, but those don't look like longbow and I have to go through and make them all costumes. When I pick edit standard it only seems to let me edit the costume.

  9. Well, I tried fire/electric and although it was great damage, the mitigation from fire is obviously zero. I do have a fire/wp though which seems to do great ... no surprise really lol.

    Anyway, I want electric and I was thinking that either stone or super strength would provide excellent mitigation with the knockdowns. I also wanted to place some chance for recharges in them to help recharge my heal faster etc. I know most people are huge super strength fans, but would stone be better paired with electric or is it worth the horrible wait to 32 for foot stomp? I really like the early aoe KD from fault though, so it would be a nice to have something like that so early. What do you guys think?
  10. I am sure anything /dark would be awesome, but end will still be an issue. I have a dark/dark and I STILL have end issues sometimes. I have +end in dark regen, chance for end proc in stamina, miracle, numina in heal, like 5 +end recovery sets and 1 end red in each of my attacks. It is not bad normally, but I would not tell anyone to make dark armor unless you have the money to get those expensive end porcs and enhancements. I love dark armor though, it is by far my favorite and imo the best brute set. It is never boring either with cloak of fear and Oppressive Gloom and the rez. I only use OG sometimes when I solo, it is mostly useless though, so very skip-able imo. I also have ZERO problems building aggro, just make sure to take the damage shield before 30 imo.
  11. I am playing fire melee and I was wondering if there is a way to make set1 and set2 be the same cool "fire" that it is in original. I love the normal fire, but I want to use the big swords like greater fire sword when I use normal fire sword. Is this possible?

  13. I am wanting to try fire melee since it is incredibly damaging, and I would like to go with willpower also. Does WP need something with KD in it to stay alive? It seems everyone goes with SS or sometimes DM. I don't think I have ever seen fire/wp? Will I be losing a lot going fire melee?

    edit: Oh, well, now that I think about it, claws/wp seems VERY popular and claws has no KD, so I suppose fire would not be much different! (Well, besides SW which is a cone and would probably get you killed if not used properly lol)
  14. I am just wondering if people still pay and take money(in game money, not real money lol) for power leveling in GV or even AE I suppose, even though I hate AE. I know it used to be great in GV before AE, but I have not played on Freedom in a long time. I am looking to get some masterminds PL to 26.   16. I am looking for a key bind to quickly select my pet and heal them without having to use the mouse to select and then heal.

    If it is possible I would like a macro to select the pet with the lowest health and I can of course press the heal myself. Is this possible? If not can anyone recommend any useful macro that would help and be faster than having to use the mouse. I know I heard of a macro to select each team mate 1-8, so even if it just selected each demon by name or something I could memorize the keys and just press the key for which pet was damaged. TYVM!
  17. I am actually playing ice/fire right now and I really like it so far! The main reason I finally decided against plant is because I have a ton of controllers and one is L50 plant. I just don't like feeling kinda useless when I face confuse res mobs. I do not have an ice controller so I think something new will be nice. I really like artic air also.

    (I have no worries about money or buying sets. I just make a lot of alts and I know I am not getting them all to 50, so sets dont really matter to me most of the time) I always buy sets for the bonus to some degree and I know prices. I just don't want to base my toon on sets.
  18. OK, thanks. I am going to give plant/fire and earth/fire a try. I just got fire/fire to 20 and it is VERY damaging and I do like it, but I think with SoC it would be even better overall. I also think with the awesome control of earth I would not get hit as much. I got ice/ice to 20 and it was alright, but I was not really "happy" with it for whatever reason. I also tried plant/stone until level 10 and the stone attacks just seemed so boring that I had to stop lol.
  19. I am just wondering what the best Dom would be for solo +0/+8 or maybe +1/+8? I have been thinking it is probably Plant/Psi for SoC and DP? I was also thinking Mind/Psi. I know all the primaries can be good enough to keep things locked down, but I am just wondering which would be the best overall on common Ios.
  20. Cool, tyvm for the post. I finally just decided on plant/stone, but I am seriously NOT liking stone at all. I am really getting bored with it. I do really like the attacks in ice though. I have a L50 plant controller and I love SoC and CC. I have never been mind before, so honestly maybe I should try something new. The pets never seemed all THAT amazing to me besides fire imps, so I definitely would NOT miss plants stupid pet at all lol. I admit that Doms are way different than my controllers and I am having a rougher time than I expected "Living" lol. My ice/ice lives much longer and easier than my plant/stone. I know once I get SoC though my survivability will go way up. I am taking stone melee because I want to put a few chance for recharges in my Knockdown aoe attacks.
  21. When you group you should have speed boost imo. I most likely would group with you once, but then honestly think you were a selfish player and not group with you again. The game is about working with your group and helping them. Yes, I know a kin has other stuff to help, but if people don't like to buff then don't play buffing sets.

    I also think all buffs should be one click and buff the entire group and not expire until that buffer leaves the team. It is ridiculous that buffs need to be constantly reapplied every few minutes. I quit my demons/thermal because I could not even handle to buff my own pets constantly. They need to do something to make buffing easier for people, but until they do then people need to just deal with it the way it is or quit playing those sets.

    This reminds me of the tanker I grouped with for a task force and he did not have "Roots" and we all asked why he did not take it and he said it slowed him down to much and he was not going to take "Roots" or "Granite armor". It is needless to say he was mezzed or dead most of the task force and eventually quit our team. In the end we all play our toons the way we want and that is the way it should be, but you should still consider your group and expect them to be upset.
  22. I am just wondering which one of these is better overall. I was thinking of slotting both with the Coercive Persuasion set including Contagious Confusion proc. When I look at mids it seems that confuse wise SoC annihilates AA, but from my experience with SoC they can miss obviously and some things like nemesis seem VERY resistant to confuse. If I stay in melee would AA end up being better in the end? There is no Acc check is there? When slotted out it has a 6 second confuse which can probably overlap or almost instantly confuse again when it wears off? The only other thing I notice is that domination seems to have NO effect on AA at all which sucks, but doubles the mag on SoC. Does anyone have any experience with both of these powers at high levels? I have a L50 plant controller, but obviously that won't tell me the whole story of plant as a dom with domination active. TYVM for any comments.

  24. I have a stealth IO slotted in sprint and it says it gives "stealth", but when I get around a mob I am instantly seen it seems and attacked. I tried with the actual pool power stealth and I was not attacked. So was it just weird luck or is the stealth IO a lot worse than the actual power pool stealth?

    Second question is if I stack stealth and the sprint IO stealth is that invis? I forgot to try that and see, but would it act like superior invis?
  25. I am going to start a dom and see how I like it. I have not played one since the changes and they seem much improved.

    I am stuck between what to pick though. I like mind it looks nice, but thinking about ice/ice and stacking those Toggle cold auras sounds awesome! I would probably cripple enemies big time movement and recharge wise. I also love the confuse in the ice primary toggle. I know mind has confuse and mass confuse, but no pet which I think is always fun. Does anyone have any experience with these sets? Mind/ice or ice/ice?

    (I am trying earth/stone right now to see if I like that also!)(edit: I do like earth, but I don't know if I like stone melee with it, so maybe earth/ice might be cool)

    (edit: I am playing ice/ice now and it seems very cool, I just hope the damage of ice is decent later on)

    (Edit: Well, nobody has made any comments, so after trying a few I decided on Plant/Stone mostly because I have a L50 plant controller and he is great and I see great potential with the chance for recharge proc in the aoe KD powers of stone)
