I am finally going to make a shield tanker and I am trying to decide between super strength, fire, axe, and mace I am looking for the most damage and the best and/or great AoE. I know fire has a great early AoE and of course SS has FS at 38. I know Axe and Mace have a few AoE as well, but the damage is Lethal for Axe correct and Smashing for Mace? How do all these compare damage/Aoe wise?
I was thinking Axe initially, but then I thought about Lethal damage and how it seems everything is resistant to it and how it might really lower my damage when I get higher. I am now leaning toward SS, but of course waiting until 38 for FS and technically 39-40 to make FS good will be torture lol. I get basically instant glory with fire with the very early AoE, but the lack of any secondary (Knockdown) might greatly hurt my survivability in the end. Any advice is always welcome. TYVM! -
I am playing with the idea of a DA tanker, but I am having trouble with what to pick with it. I made a Dark Melee and as much as I love the concept, I don't know if I can overcome the lack of AoE in the set. Will my AoE need be controlled when I get Dark Consumption and Midnight grasp or do those do pitiful damage? I was thinking Electric might be alright since it has a chance to give me end to help with DA end problems. Let me know what has worked for you. TYVM!

I know this is the tanker forums, but I am a granite brute and I am wondering if anyone could help me with a build to max my resist/Def or at least resist. What are good IO sets to use to max that stuff? (PSI is not important to me whatsoever) just the rest. I know to take Tough obviously that is a huge help, but I need IO sets to get everything else up to par with S/L. Thank you very much for any help! (I posted and have not got any help on brute forums, you don't see many stone brutes)

I am looking for a good Stone armor build to max my resist, except Psi, I don't care about Psi at all.
Please post here please if you have something decent. I would prefer no purple sets, it is granite, so I wouldn't think it would be that tough? Thanks for any help. -
I am thinking about making a SS/SA brute and I am wondering how much the damage penalty would effect me. I would obviously have fury and rage to raise my damage, so how much would that offset the penalties from granite? Would SS the best damage set to take with stone armor or would fire be better since I don't think the Dots from fire are affected from granite are they?
I am also looking into other armor sets that are comparable to granite, but nothing really seems to be as good as "granite" def/res wise. I do not want a willpower brute, I want something with a damage aura. I would like any advice on what might be good in comparison, coming from a granite tanker. -
I am looking for some people who want to farm the Unveiler badge. We can do it in PI sometime after Double XP is over perhaps. I am EST and I play normally around 9am until 4pm so if that time is good for you post here.

Well, I was just looking at Stone Armor and I just realized after making I don't know how many Stone Armor toons that the recharge/damage penalty is the same on both the tanker and the brute? This does not seem fair in my opinion since the resist for the brute are lower, so why should they suffer the same penalty? I think it should be slightly adjusted to compensate for the lower resist? I know on the tanker it is a primary and on brute it is secondary, but it still seems like lower resist should be lower penalty imo. Anyone else agree or disagree?

Hmm, OK I will try +2/+8 with no bosses and see how that works thanks! Yes, bosses definitely make things much tougher lol. I will just stop fighting them for now then! I am flying through +1/+8 with no bosses.

I am wondering which would be more XP between +0/+8 with bosses or +1/+8 without bosses?
I am L37 Thugs/Dark and I tried +1/+8 with bosses and they were a lot more trouble then I thought they would be, which obviously slows down the killing. The +0/+8 with bosses is rather simple, so it was strange it was such a change just going up a level. -
If anyone has a good build for elec/sd for farming and defense cap let me know.

Excellent, tyvm. I will go with elec/shield then. I have been wanting to try shields on something, so I suppose a scrapper will do fine! I will look for a build somewhere here to softcap or whatever I should do.

Do you guys think a Elec/Shield scrapper would be a better farmer than a Shield/Elec tanker?

For the spines/dark I know it is end heavy, but I have miracle recovery, numina recovery, shifter chance for + end to put in him also. I just know for /shields you need a very specific build don't you to soft cap defense? Or something like that? -
I am looking for a Scrapper farming build? I am wondering what people think? I am considering Spines, Claws or Electric for my primary and For secondary I am considering Fire, Dark and Shield. If you offer your opinion please explain why you think one set is better than another. Thank you.

Hello. I am playing Dark Armor and yes, with every power being a toggle it eats my end, but it is not really that bad. I am L18 and I have a miracle in heal now and at 20 I will get stamina and at 21 I will put in a chance for + end in that also. When I get to L27 I have a Numina recovery to also put in heal. With all this is PP still needed?
I also must say though that after playing Dark it is the most fun armor set I have ever played and I think it is highly downplayed only because of the end cost? Just imho. -

Well, most of the Cabal have various powers from different sets. They use:
Various powers from "Storm" including gale, hurricane, lightning storm. They also use lightning powers such as Lightning bolt and ball lightning. I know a few have charged brawl and storm strike melee attacks. One of the bosses uses all sonic attacks. All of them seem to be able to fly also.
As far as the Coven they seem to use limited dark powers such as Midnight Grasp, dark blast, gloom, Petrifying Gaze and Tenebrous Tentacles. -

No, I meant that sonic shield that makes the enemies res go down when I cast it on the brute. Is that noticeable?

So, I made a second account and I made a thugs/storm MM to go with my higher level Thugs/Dark MM. It is very cool how the Thug Buffs stack albeit not entirely "fair" imo? I think for instance Bots should FF other bots? They should make it where each same set interacts like this imho. It might not even be intentional? Maybe they just dont know how to stop it lol.
