Why not just run it as a scaling system?
Level 6 keeps your name safe for 90 inactive days, and just make it 15 more days per level from there.
6 = 90
7 = 105
8 = 120
...
50 = 750 (a little over 2 years)

Why go with an overly complicated system? -

They needed a break. As the weeks have gone by the Scoop has had less and less of interest for me to read. I don't care to read half a dozen interviews with players I never heard of each week.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've never read it that much. Perhaps the next one will interest me. -
A great, great read.

I didn't notice if anyone else posted on this yet but does THIS mean that we are not getting names freed up until 90 days after 8/5?
[/ QUOTE ]
See the post above yours.
They have to subscribe to be sure the names are saved. See Lighthouse's follow up ost. However, they could log in over the weekend and level to 6 to save the name - as posted above.
I doubt many people will know about the name policy reactivation yet, and take advantage of this, though. -

Compared to all the other MMOs and their inactive account policies out there, inactive accounts here are practically pampered to.
[/ QUOTE ]
Back that up.
What are the inactive name policies of WoW, DAOC, EQ and EQ2? -
Mmm...complimentary pizza....
-
Not without my complimentary ******.

That was just an example.
Sorry you hate people. Can't fix that for you.
And your post only serves to prove my point.
[/ QUOTE ]
This, like the "sorry you hate people." post, would be a troll post.
/point
/laugh
That's a troll post. -
Throw out a troll label all you want.
It's true.
Sorry you couldn't get a name. Once. Gotta fix that! -

We admit, the previous name purge was too high a level. I had a lot of people tell me that they wanted to come back to the game, but were turned off when they found that their character's name had been taken during the last name purge. We wanted the most amount of names freed up, with the least amount of impact on players who might want to return to the City of games.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm glad you get it, Posi.
I'll actually back this policy, though I honestly don't think one is needed. -
[ QUOTE ]
I don't think the policy is unreasonable. I do think that anybody that thinks names are scarce is just being unimaginative.

Lvl 6?
I can live with this.
Lvl 35 was idiotic before. The non-powerlevelers may not get that, but 6 I can live with. -
I don't even want to think about how long this took you to design.
Nice work. -

sad, but it'd be real funny to find some Co* players down in a privare spot in the sewers doing the same, then again even though its puny by WoW standards I'm willing to bet real money that some heros or villians have gotten intimate...

People are always talking about "Mature" roleplayers on Virtue... -
I disagree with the view of Bitter Ice Blast, but suit to taste.
Nice work. -

Hmm....I have to admit, I am a bit concerned about a poll now about new powersets.
So, when would we see these new powersets? I12? 13? -
Heh, I would live an update for now!

Amazing stuff. I can't wait to see more of your guides. When you've covered all power types, you GOTSTA compile them into some sort of uber-guide.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, yes!
