I really think it depends on play style.

Large groups...I can get the feeling that they wouldn't be useful.

Solo or duo- I love my pet on my Bane, and know my wife feels the same about her Brute. Often we are surprised by what the pets survive.

Wife needs to replace hers as she sometimes looses the ability to move with the current one.

66 is nice, what I would expect of a Vet Reward. Handy, but nowhere near unbalancing.

As I think about it, the OP may have already played my mission. I'm not sure, but it's triggering something in my old brain.

Feel free to try 13986 - Save the Spiderlings.

It's only one mission and designed for low levels. Lowest level that I know of that did it was lvl 2. It's best with one person, but a duo can certainly do it. Just a bit more chaotic.

Edit - I15 added a bug that makes your "friends' act a bit wonky. Don't worry about that too much.

I disagreed with most of this thread.

Then I did an AE team this morning. Lot of bad players there with no Vet badges who didn't care what nonsense they spouted. Thankfully, there were a couple of Vets.
