I've been looking around the past few days since pre sales went live for any run down on the new Duel Pistols powers and haven't seen any. Probably because it's still so new (and not everyone has pre ordered). One thing I was surprised about is I haven't seen one from the beta. Did DP change that much that it negated any beta guides or have none been written thus far? Just curious cause all lot of the powers in the list seem to look better then what they play thus far (all though I haven't raised any DP'ers to far yet.)

I was looking around for a electric stalker guide and havn't found one yet. Proabably because it was added last issue I think? Or just that I can chalk it up to my horriable searching abilites one..lol. I have a question about their secondary damage, the descriptions say that each of the primary attacks has a chance to sleep the enemy, but thus far I haven't seen that happen yet. is that my bad luck or is the sleep broken, or does it work but I'm just not seeing it? Thanks!
-
Thanks TBA. Yeah i'm not holding my breath on it, I actually don't think there will be a build on Mid's until after Rogue goes live. I know how player made apps go (Still waiting five years plus for the KotR 2 patch to go live..someday...lol)
Hey what does WIP mean? -
hello all
I have the pre purchase access to the new Duel Pistols and I'm enjoying my first taste of the powers. I have a question about the staple power "Switch Ammo". I don't think it would be usable like this but is it possible to stack effects from the ammo switch? I was thinking in terms of using one shot as cryo for the slow, switch to toxic for the damage on the second shot and then the third shot being fire for the DoT effect. In my initial test last night I couldn't tell if this was working or not (animations didn't seem to be firing, which leads me to believe that they cancel out when you try this tactic.) Anyone comment on if this can work? Thanks! -
Hello
Just pre purchased and have the new duel pistols, which rocks imo. I'm not one of those that was aware of it until just a week or so ago (just came back to the game recently). I have what I think is the most up to date Mids designer and was just wondering if anyone knew if they would update the planner for DP? I don't anticipate it, but would be nice to be able to plan out my build on my new corrupterThanks all!
-
Ahh ok! Thats good to know. I'm fully intending to pre purchase. Want to try those duel pistols out. Saw the beta thread and they look great. Guess I'll keep my eye on the main site this week for the pre purchase announcment. Humm...come to think of it, I wonder if that Duel pistols is what the 2.5 gb download was this morning I had.../excited...
-
Ahh that makes it clear thanks for the help on that. If that's true then pre purchase must be very soon, if they intend to do DP for this month. Any word yet on this "special items pack"? I've seen that floating around in the forums but does anyone know what it will be? Special powers, costume items, emotes?

Hello
I wanted to make sure I understood the way this pre-order works for GR. The way that I understand it is that at some future date (to be announced yet..but very soon) Pre oreders will start and anyone who does so will immediately get to use Duel Pistols/Demons on their account (kind of like a booster pack). And then in July when the expansion goes live there will be another as of yet announced bonus content you can buy with it? I think I'm off base on this, but I just need to clarify when I can pre order and if/when the DP/Demons bonus content will be available if I do. Thanks for the help! -
Hello all
Looked around and didn't see any direct tech forums for help so apologies for posting here. I'm having some graphic glitches that can only be described as strange. Nothing that is really game ending, but CoH/V is the only game I've ever played that does it. I don't think it's the game, but I cant' seem to find any other answers to it. The first of these is fairly minor, but it's just has always bugged me. Anytime I have a character near, in or over the water I get this huge reflection of my toon as if I were looking at a mirror. Not really a big deal but I would love to fix it. The second of these is a strange screen shot image I get during game play. For some reason I keep finding random non-saved screen shots of my game play that appear when I log out of the game, or at times will show when I minimize to the desktop, or at times they randomly interrupt my game when I make a mouse click in a dialog box (choosing "Ask about available missions"). The image always seems to be of game play about three to five minutes prior.
Anyone out there ever seen this or now where I can go to fix? Thanks much for the help! -

Hello all
I'm playing a Rad/Sonic corruptor and just hit level 12 with him. I could use some opinions on what to take at twelve as my power if you would please? I'm trying to decide between one of the three attacks available to me. Here is a quick paste of my build thus far (slots may be wrong, but doing it from memory.)

I'm going to be taking Swift (14), Health (16), and Sirens Song (18) then Stamina at 20. The decision I have right now is between my available three attacks in Sonic to round out my attack cycle. I can take Howl, Shockwave, or Shout. All three look good to me for different reasons. I like the AoE of Howl, the pure damage of Shout and the soft CC of Shockwave. (I solo storyline missions alot.) Right now I'm leaning towards Shout, but the endurance concerns me. I'm already running low on End after each fight so not sure about a 11 endurance attack. Does anyone have a suggestion or comment on which of them to take? Thanks in advance! -
Hello all
I recently came back to the game and want to level the right way this time. I know that at some level contacts and gangs have specific types of enhancments and rewards they hand out or drop, but I'm not sure of which ones give out which. I also know that you have to path some contacts by taking jobs from other ones that will eventually introduce you to them. Can anyone link me a good "cheat sheet" for this? I would really appreciate itthanks in advance

Hello all
I recently started a Rad/Sonic Corrupter and I could use some help with using my anchors. I looked around and found one thread about understanding anchors but it seemed to me to be more about how groups can benefit from understanding them then what I needed to know. Like most people I'm sure I'm having the common issue of understanding who and where to anchor. I'm doing storyline quest at low levels and the same issue comes up each time I toss out RI/EF. If there is a group of three or four let's say, then either (1) my anchor rushes up to me and the others stay behind and range me (2) The anchor stays and the others melee, or three (and this one is the worst) they all run in four different directions and range me. Can anyone recommend a good read on using anchors properly for someone who needs basic help with them? thank you in advance -
Thanks for all the help on this guys
I have a preliminary build for you to look at. Remember I did say I stink at builds. I feel like I'm trying to do a Rad Offender build, and took Radiation as my secondary as well probably more because I've never tried Radiation blast, but also it looked as though the initial two attacks were low endurance, and I've always tried to be endurance mindful until after stamina (I know newbie thinking.)
I tried to stagger taking the holy trinity so that I wasn't overloading endurance cost until DO's and later. My play style is more solo missions at the moment, which isn't to say I don't want to group with this toon ( or any of my toons) I just haven't met anyone yet so most of my online time is done doing storyline missions. I don't think I did a reasonable job with this build but again my primary goal with it was to do a Rad emissions that had hasten and AM three slotted by the time I got DO's. Also, I wanted to mention that I have the ninja run power so travel powers isn't that important to me, so between swift, ninja run and sprint I can move fairly fast anyway. The fourth Power pool I'm thinking of taking stealth. Please feel free to flame me all you want. I really would like to get this toon right. Again, I really appreciate the feedback on this!

Greetings all
I was looking at starting a new character and thought the Radiation Emissions looked like a good challenge to try. However I'm very intimidated by it, in how many of the toggles are necessary, and particularly the slotting..I'm lost with that in particular. As I really (*really*) stink at making builds I was hoping some kind hearted vet would throw me a bone on this one. I know I want to try to have a build that has Accelerate Metabolism and hasten both three slotted for recharge and stamina at 20, but I think I'm over reaching though. I'm not tied to any secondary really, if anyone has a suggestion I'm more then happy to listen to it. If anyone could post a "cookie cutter" rad build up to like 24, so I can see how you would do it I would really appreciate it! Thank you in advance!
P.S. I realize this is discussed to death, I really did try to shuffle through FAQs and pages but I didn't really see any answers that seemed to be recent (faqs I saw were issue 11 or so at the latest.) So my apologies for posting on a discussed thread -
Sorry, I should have done this to begin with. This is a rough copy of my current build. some of the enhancement slots are wrong, but doing it from memory atm. I know I took several powers that most would advise me not to have, but for the time being please disregard my idiocy.

Hello all,
I recently came back to CoH after a break and started playing my dark/regen scrapper again and I'm loving it once again. However I just reached level thirty and am having a hard time deciding on what power to take. I respeced him already and made a few mistakes here and there (to much regens to little attacks or defense.) Now at thirty I have two basic attacks shadow maul and smite (didn't read forums first). I'm finding I can really use a third attack, but I would also like to have the ability to close distance on flying foes as well. This leaves me with the options of taking shadow punch for a quick +to hit and six slotting it asap, taking Air Superiority for a -flight attack or even taking flurry for the damage (Mids has this as the highest damage of the three..71.6 smashing to 62.6 smashing from air superiority or 57.8 mixed shadow/smashing from shadow punch..which is wierd cause I've always thought flurry was supposed to be inferior..was it changed I guess?). The other option I was thinking of was taking the Confront skill from Dark Melee for the -ranged. Could anyone give me a some advice on which of these to take please?
Thanks in advance for the help! -
Hello
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for a rundown on statistic information on powers. I'm looking for dumbed down info on things like damage info (damage per activation and such) and an explination of Magnitude and double entry specs that appear in the power windows. Thanks! -
Ok so I've been thinking about this pretty much for the last few days, and I think I'm going to try something and see how it works. Tell me what you think. I want to create a Static GenMan team with some rules to follow. First, the team wouldn't be about joke characters (as much fun as it sounds to do a AR/Dev controller
) But rather really trying to push the envelope as far as it can with the general powers. Players would meet 2-3 times weekly for 2-3 hours at a time and only level/exp together. One side goal would be to use Ventrillo to assist grouping. Each participant would abide by a few build rules:
(1) Players can choose any Class, Primary or secondary pool they wish, granted they must choose Heroes.
(2) Each person would declare at onset a Focus pool from the General power pools. Players can not choose a pool already chosen from another participant (unless all pools have been taken already.) Players would then take those powers from their focus pool as soon as they are able (level 6, 8, 14,20).
(3) Players may choose powers from their primary or secondary pools. However you must take a minimum of three general pool powers for every one Primary pool power and six general pool powers per secondary.
(4) Players can only choose from their Primary power or secondary pools until level 6, not both.
(5) Enhancements - You may only slot Primary or secondary powers on a scale of 1/5. In other words, you must place five enhancement slots into general pools before you can place one slot into a primary or secondary until level 22, at which time, players may place enhancement slots as they wish.
(6) Players can create their own look (Female, male/small, normal, large). and their own costumes. It is recommended however that they use as generic a look as possible. Remember this is the Gen(eric) man group.Names should contain the word "Man or Woman" as appropriate and a single diget number (I.e. HeroMan 1 or HeroWoman 1 or any version of that) The only costume requirement after that is to use your charecter number as your chest emblem (HeroMan1 would use a number "1" on his chest, HeroWoman3 would use a number 3.)
What do you guys/ladies think? -
Thanks for the help you all.
Just to make sure I'm understanding you correctly here are the steps I'm seeing I need to take.
(1) Customize my keybinds as normal in the options menu
(2) type /bindsavefile "file path to CoH root folder"
(3) from then on in type /bindload "filename" to load those keybinds.
Does that look correct?
thanks again for the help -
Hello all,
Ever since I started playing CoH/V a few months ago, i've been bothered by the same problem, up till now i've been ok just letting it slide, but more and more it urks me having to reconfiqure everything each time I create a new charecter. Under the options there is a key binding menu. When I finished custimizing the keys I want to use I use the save to file option, which if I'm correct in assuming means that anytime I want to go and use that key binding setup It will automatically load that way for a new toon. However, the odd bit is that while it does that, it loads a very old file everytime. For instance, one of my keys on the old file is mapped to the tithe (`) button. The new keymappings have that one to the left control button. Several other keys are the same. The end result is even after I've hit the "Load from file" button (which changes nothing) I have to re-enter my key bindings every time. I've traced the problem down to an issue I believe with the Valve/Steam application. (As most know, Steam is a outside program that will allow you to load games from another location..or so it's supposed to.) I originally downloaded the client of CoH/V as the free demo and then bought the game via Steam. However I still load the program through the icon on my desktop, not through Steam (For some reason steam will not load CoH/V proporly.) The point of all of this is that the keybinding file that is loading is in the Steam program folder NOT the Game folder (I am unable to locate the keybinding file in the game folder.) Can anyone offer any suggestions please? Would really like to get this to work the way it's meant to. Getting really tired of having to always go into the options and rearranging everything. thanks in advance! -
I had an AR/Dev Blaster that played Controller using only Trops, Web, Taser and Beanbag, but never used any attack abilities because "I'm a Controller, not a Damager."

I am not worthy! -
Hello all
Last night I came up the wholly unoriginal idea to create a character that uses only general power pool abilities. I came to the forumns here this morning just to read to see what experiences others had with this amazingly original idea (/cough). Is there a slang term for this? You know, other then lame.....hehehe -
Hello all,
I just started a new dominator today and am trying to learn my way around their special Domination power. I had a few questions that are incredibly simple but I'm unable to find answers to specifically about the power.
(1) I've been trying to find a way to use the monitor window (powers -> combat attributes) to monitor the Domination bar, but I'm unable to locate the attribute in the monitor window. Is it not possible to do so?
(2) I assume yes, but before I make plans to take the power pool I just need to verify. Does the Hasten power under the Speed power pool affect the global cooldown of the Domination power, and does if so, is it a recommended?
(3) Once Domination is activated when you reach 50% on the domination bar, is there any further benifit to having a full domination bar or is it just window dressing at that point?
Thank you in advance for your answers and help! -
A few questions I had for anyone kind enough to answer please: The other day I was doing a mission on on of my charecters and on the flashscreen as I was loading into the instance I had just a second to read the message. I thought I saw something to the effect that players can "trade" outfit/uniform files with another? Is this true? And if it is, are there any sites to download/upload to?
(2) Not pertaining to the above question, but just as a matter of curiosity, has anyone ever seen a good uniform that matches the look of the Raptor Pack jet pack you get from the Atlas Park Bank robbery/protection mission? Was thinking earlier it would be really kool to have a second outfit ready that could be keyed to switch when I use the Raptor pack.
