Snow Globe, if there is one place I would put a page file, it would be on the SSD. I would suggest moving that immediately.
Not all SSDs are that fast, but given the option, if I had to chose, I would even rather put the OS on a regular 7200 or even 10k rpm drive than the page file. The page file should always, always be on the fastest drive in the system period. -
Yellow inspirations aren't rare for those instances.

Quote:1. No it isn't, it is far faster. It's not even close to the slow speed of the old version. Not. Even. Close.Actually, the NCsoft Launcher is:
- Slower.
- Still using Internet Explorer as it's basis on the Windows platform. I can actually prove this. The launcher uses IE's registry keys to identify itself.
- Because it is using Internet Explorer, it presents a gaping security hole to your user's computer(s). So much for valuing your client's security.
- It is much slower to launch the game.
- It actually has higher system requirements than the game itself. This boggles the mind.
- It uses the .NET framework.
2 & 3. I'm not sure how familiar you are with the security features in IE9, even though it is not my browser of choice, but your comment sounds like it came from the 90s.
4. Ehhh depends, it does one quick check prior to the Loading splash - I barely notice it, I think it takes about 1.5 seconds, so if 1.5 seconds is much slower for you, then you would be correct.
5. Gotta be an error.
6. So do tons of other programs. -
Quote:Yep, it is.I've found the NCSoft Launcher to be WAY faster than the old CoH updater.
I was worried initially that it was just a way for them to advertise their other games, but it is superior in every way to the old one as far as functionality, options, and speed - and only people who are insistent on keeping the 'hating M$ is cool' and 'Macs are for snobs' fad alive are going to have issues on Linux, a platform that has no official support anyway. -
Quote:Sure... there is nothing printed anywhere describing any support for Linux. They are going to take care of the customers they designed this game for instead.I do not think the subscribers playing on Linux operating subscriptions are interested in a F.A.Q.
We want to know why NCSoft feels like it can flip us a giant middle finger.
Care to answer on whether or not NCSoft is actually comfortable with ticking off existing subscribers? -

Trick Arrow needs some love, but FF and Sonic don't. I think Liquefy should be on a shorter timer and that's about it.
Too many people like the sets as they are - they get to use their secondary set more often or be able to grab pool powers that they might want more, and having skippable powers helps in that situation.
There are ALOT of skippable powers in FF, that is very true, and I agree it would be nice if it had additional effects that would make them worthwhile, but like I said there might be quite a few people that prefer FF so they can blast more often. -
Won't happen probably. They regret how much massive work it was to make just the 3 animations needed for the flame whip that Demon Summoners use (masterminds.)
-
...or how about just walking? I remember it would reset the Alpha when that was bugged.

Alkaloid is getting more potent in Issue 21.
No, there is several powers in the game designed to lower defense that require accuracy - why should Envenom be any different?
Both Envenom and Weaken are getting splash effects added to it in Issue 21, where it does half debuff to surrounding enemies.
Your breath changes would make it a 3rd hold for the set if you want people to puke. Poison Trap is getting changed into a hold in Issue 21.
Elixer already is a buff rez - no rezzes in the game work on pets so this will never happen. It buffs similar to the rez in Radiation, where you get weakened after a time of being buffed.
Yeah Antidote is not that useful IMO. I would have taken it if it got the aoe treatment that bubbles got, but clear mind type of powers have limited use, I agree.
Paralytic - seems most people are ok with this power.
Poison Trap is now fixed to go off properly and will now be a hold instead of sleep in Issue 21.
Not sure what is being done to Noxious - I am not sure if it is staying the same for MMs but for Corruptors and Controllers it is a different power. -
That's true - what is it, a 5 min cooldown? Takes longer than that to run a mission anyway.

For several months I have had all 5 incarnate slots at tier 4, and have been using Radial Seers. My main is a fire/fire scrapper and I started making Phantoms as they do a bunch of fire damage and I notice the boss does a ridiculous amount of damage compared to my Seer boss - one of the attacks does over 700 damage.
Problem I am having besides having to return to iTrials (soon to be owned by Apple?) is that if I ever chose to run around farming the demon map that I now have a melee pet buffing their invincibility, and that adrenaline boost isn't perma unlike fortitude from seers.
Help me chose!
I tend to prefer going with an invincible buff pet over two damage pets as I already do insane damage - technically one shouldn't be able to out-damage a fire/fire scrapper with any other scrapper combo as it is. -
Uh, we are getting Sonic. You might have missed the memo. It comes with the next issue.
-
Remember that +hp is not healed, it just raises their cap and they need to heal that up first before it is useful.
-
I haven't sat down and tested it but I would guess once during the initial burst after the changes were made. Ask Arcanaville.

Quote:Even though I agree with everyone, I want to be fair when responding to your post. Cold also has no heals, and sonic probably has the most -resist than any other set in the game, plus acc is usually not an issue later on.Cold Domination would own. Straight away it would be right up there with traps, dark, or thermal. Perhaps even better... Rad would also be bad to the bone.
I agree though, sonic looks like meh.... No heals. No Regen Debuff for AV stomping. Resistance < Def. Yea, I won't be rolling one... -
I shouldn't be surprised at this - Nvidia has always been the king of OpenGL since the 3DFX days...

Quote:Ditto. I have been asking for Poison to be proliferated for years, without exaggerating. I always thought it was ridiculous that it was a mastermind only set, designed for that AT, and it has always sucked since day one. I am very happy with the announcement."directing" is a harsh word. "asking" is more like it. :P
I am just very curious about /poison values on corr. -
The 30% resist debuff is nothing to sneeze at. I would use it if it even just had that alone, but it would need to have a shorter recharge.

Quote:...and yet, here I sit with a 50 psy/mental blaster who was a fun trip. Bots are a pain of course but boosting my range wouldn't have made it better.I have always said pvp would hurt this game alot due to them not being able to divorce the two when it first came out. The change in distance on psi blast really hurt the set to me in pve. Yeah true enough you have boost range and such but in instance missions how would this be over powered? To even be able to leverage this in pve you would have to have a map where it was outdoors with nothing blocking line of sight. Thats only a handful of maps. If using it from the air its not like mobs do not already out range us even with boost range.

Lol here we all are, directing each other if we get in the beta.

Anyone else? This is for a friend as I use a GTX 470.
