Quote:I guess we will just keep enjoying our never-crashing-CoH experiences with lovely Digital Vibrance then.Yeah, I'm sure the company who released drivers that caused graphics cards to overheat and laptops to explode, as well as who deliberately lied about the physical build problems with their chips to every single ODM and OEM, is really the best company to be buying a new graphics card from.
...but seriously, I uploaded this old video a long time ago, and you might get a kick out of it. It is Nvidia making fun of themselves: http://youtu.be/EdExkuvGySE -
Quote:Keys to using Leadership:I have a quick question about the Leadership Power Pool and I can't find an answer anywhere else. Do the leadership bonuses affect yourself and, if so, do they work when you are not in a group?
Different archetypes get different bonuses from the powers. Defenders get the most out of them.
They are endurance hogs - slotting two end cost is good for regular builds while leveling before anything else. -
Yep, I know. What does that accomplish?

Quote:A melee cone should just use the definition of a cone in a melee set. Breath of Fire is very, very different from Fire Breath from a ranged blast set, for example.Congratulations, you named six powers and two of them are melee cones. Hint: if a power takes a taoe set, it is not a melee cone. If it takes a pbaoe set and is a cone, it is a melee cone.
Considering the target cap of golden dragonfly and head splitter is pretty funny seeing as the only way you're going to hit even five targets with those is against a huge horde of rikti monkeys or by model stacking with a corner or during an ambush farm. However, I do concede that shadow maul isn't as big as I was thinking, especially if you compare it to non-scrapper cones. It's still better than many melee cones in many ways, but size is not often among them.
I'm not saying I'd happily take and use shadow maul on a blaster, indeed I don't see myself using this set as it currently stands unless some of the powers have been reworked in ways we're not yet aware of. Saying it's a bad cone, or a bad secondary aoe, et cetera, is just wrong though.
As for your last point there, Strato, I think you could say the same of virtually all secondary aoes for blasters. None of them look good compared to primary aoes, even the crowd-favorite PSW and FSC. -

Ah ok, still, that seems like an odd choice - taking it away from people. I totally agree with getting on with forcing the new launcher, as it is superior, however taking away the Wisps aura seems... like a weird choice. What does that accomplish?
-
Hey wait a minute, that means all new characters I create after that date can no longer use Wisps unless I 'buy' them after issue 21 hits?
PLEASE CLARIFY -

Shadow Maul is a super tiny cone.

Quote:It certainly can be with decisions made during gameplay, yes!If anyone dies on a team that you're on, the death is your fault?
I'd love to see a tanker run around ignoring mobs and get to the end boss in a mission by himself with the rest of the team wiped because of his carelessness and garbage attitude, then blame all of them on their builds.
I hope you are kidding. -
Empathy>Pain in most situations, if you really want to know the honest truth.
-
No, see, he is playing in such a way that he is soloing and doesn't seem to care if he gets his teammates killed.
He blames their build instead of his thoughtlessness. -

Just making a /sonic team sounds fun and you could wait until Issue 21 so that mms can join in.
Heck I will join; what server? -
Quote:I have to agree with everyone else who disagrees with this statement. MM is a good secondary, on par with Energy in my opinion, and Fire is a pretty nice set too, even though it doesn't keep you alive in quite the same way. This 2ndary will be literally the only real alternative to Mental Manipulation. For those not in the KNOW MM is the only real blaster 2ndary worth having as it not only includes powerful attacks of the least resisted dmg type in the game, but powerful self healing/end recov along with very useful control effects to further mitigate aggression.
EDIT: the more I think about it, the more delicious it sounds to go dark/fire with those tentacles and burn. There is no fear in burn, but it seems there is an avoidance code still in there for the AI and tentacles will take care of that. Dark Manip so far does not look like something I would ever take on any build, even though I mourn the loss of dark pit. -
No, you are not - why are you playing in such a way that you can't keep your teammates alive?

...not at all, I've owned both (2nd time I've said that now) and I was attacked by fanboys, not the other way around.
My comment about OpenGL performance is true. Everyone can always point to instances and scenarios where it isn't - I am speaking in the general sense. AMD/ATI has beaten Nvidia in Direct X in the past plenty of times, as the rivalry bounces back and forth. Part of that in the past was due to how closely Nvidia has worked with John Carmack regarding engines that used OpenGL.
Personally I think the downsides to Nvidia absorbing 3DFX and AMD absorbing ATI has been overcome.
I really didn't come in the thread to make fun of ATI fans - my friend Bobbo8u has been having crashing issues since coming back to the game and has sworn off ATI cards in the future. -
I went from Seers to Phantoms but went radial on both all the way to tier 4. Granted, phantoms do a huge amount of damage compared to Seers (I think greater ice sword does a whopping 700+ damage) but my Seer buff pet has perma fortitude (weaker version) vs temporary adrenaline boost from Phantoms.
...also if I do a demon farm the phantom pet buffs their invincibility as he goes into melee range way more often than the seer boss and I play a scrapper. -
Quote:It WAS constructive. More people would be insulted if I assumed everyone couldn't afford it.Because throwing away a $100+ video card and buying another is an option for everybody. If you're not going to try to say anything constructive, just keep your mouth shut.
...also, $100 is usually a garbage card. I usually buy a $500+ card every 3 to 5 years.
Nvidia has been the king of OpenGL performance since the 3DFX days. I've had both and after constantly reading about the problems the drivers cause, I think jumping ship is pretty sound advice. No need to attack me or get defensive! -
Nope, my favorite character of all 7+ years is my fire/fire scrapper, noted in my sig. I destroy most enemies so fast that at least on two occasions I have been sent to the ads team on BAF trials simply because whatever team I am on during the last phase crushes the other. If I switched teams, I would overtake the old one I was on within seconds.
I am not bragging - my wife and I got a big kick out of it as she plays with me. Granted, he is purpled out at level 53 with all Incarnate slots at tier 4, so he is pretty ridiculous. I just hit the influence cap last week also at $2 billion on him, so you made that comment to the wrong guy haha. -

Note to self: never buy an AMD/ATI card, ever.

Now if they could just permanently fix stuck pets without having to enter a command and fix the team window problem...
