  1. In order to consolidate things a bit, I would like to gather thoughts about this set in the General Discussion thread here, if you would indulge me. I would like our stalker experts to provide their thoughts regarding the set so I can provide feedback appropriately.

My initial thoughts were regarding the main complaint about the set, which has always been endurance cost, which is truly due to the Heal/End ratio of Dark Regeneration. Please provide your insight to the thread linked instead of here - I realize we are not supposed to cross-post but many people skip the general section and I want to get honest opinion on the set.

    Thanks!

  5. The psi and toxic ones do half the damage than the energy/negative/fire DoTs.

That would be my suggestion (and has been FOOOOOREEEVVVVERRRRR)
Interesting, but wouldn't you need endurance the most when in a crowd?
  7. That sucks, and hope you are able to get things under control. Later on down the line I hope to see the Red Tomax area updated - some of us still really enjoy using that.
  8. I still don't know if it is worth slotting anything beyond recharge in Chrono Shift - what do you guys think?

    What alpha?

Yeah but Musculature grants end recovery if you are looking at Cardiac. The thing is with Nerve vs Musculature, you can't argue about ED limits since most people slot for max damage in their attacks anyway - so it just depends which way you want to go - do you want the little bit of defense from nerve or the little bit of damage from musculature... No doubt they are both at ED limits already on most builds for FF toons.

That and Dark Pit - really no need to have lower accuracy than almost every power in the game, I agree.
  11. I think if the heal was cut in half you would still get plenty out of it in most situations. We need to consider SO builds due to freebies and not everyone can/will grab physical perfection and superior conditioning; some are arguing that it needs to be fantastic against the few times in the game you encounter AVs/GMs but I still find those situations to be too rare to balance a set around.
  12. Personally, I think one change and one change only would make Dark Armor a far more viable set, even for tankers - and don't point me to that one video of a Dark Armor tank that is listed in the owner's sig because we all know he is defense softcapped...

Cut the heal and end cost of Dark Regeneration in half. That's it. Oppressive Gloom can cause a person to use Dark Regen more often in certain situations and builds dependent on level and slotting if you think about it.

Leave the end cost of Cloak of Fear alone - everything in the whole set is balanced outside of dark regen. The heal is TOO HIGH and unnecessary which is the whole argument against the gigantic end burn, not even considering the tohit check requirement.

REMEMBER that we need the set to be viable to Freebies that only have access to SOs, and you need to weigh the cost of Acrobatics on top of everything else.

Remember that the Cloak of Fear issues and Dark Regen's values are not the only hurdles people need to make up for. Knockback protection is another big hole (yes, easily fixed, but still, we need to remember Freebies with their SOs.) The number one complaint even after the revamps years ago has always been end cost - always. The toggles are fine, even with Cloak of Fear, considering how useful that power is. Dark Regen is the true endurance destroyer, considering how often you need to use it with the low resistance values of the set. Cloak of Fear and Opressive Gloom are the tools that make up for those low resist numbers - and running them all, at all times, should be the main goal in my eyes, like every single other set in the game. It's Dark Regeneration, even fully slotted with level 50 vanilla IOs for end cost, STILL takes a big bite out of your end.

    Thoughts?

I could go on, but yay to having an endgame after all these years, where the instant you hit 50 you don't magically roll an alt.

I am well and truly in love with Paragon City, the storylines are immersive and absorbing, the missions never seem dull when you have a good team, the virtually infinite costume customisation combinations (alliteration FTW) and the costume creator itself are absolutely amazing.
CoH is graphically stunning, too (I play on fully maxed ultra mode) and I still wonder just how much time went in to those cape physics.
Another thing I adore about CoH is the villains, because they are people you can truly hate. The Circle of Thorns with their evil sacrificial rituals, the Vazhilok with their experiments on the dead, I hate them all so much I always feel pleased whenever I beat them down.
Almost important as the game itself are the people running it, and I have to say after having a GM come in to the game and talk me through issues on several occasions, seeing the brilliant level of community interaction and enjoying the events run by the GM's has made me a devout NC Soft fanboy.
The community itself (except for a select few on the forums >.> ) is brilliant, friendly, helpful and one of the best MMO communities I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of.

All in all, I regret not a single moment of my time spent here and I am proud to be a hero of Paragon City

Thought I'd make this one short and sweet rather than longer like my original.
This is one of the most refreshing posts I've seen in a long time.
  15. I agreed to your suggestion, but I don't think it will happen.
  16. During the final part, she wouldn't follow me and she was halfway dead in seconds. I have the pack with the Self Destruct but not everyone does.

Totally agree. The info on the set made it seem like it has quite a number of aoes.
  18. Ran it with my wife tonight for the 1st time ever. We went very slow as the leader explained everything to us and apparently the leader was trying for a badge. We were successful and the environment was beautiful but...

...I was somehow stuck with Desdemona and I am a scrapper, and was ordered to stay back to keep her alive during the entire trial. The end result is that I got stuck with Threads or Super Inspirations as a choice.

I was told it was due to a bug but I doubt it. Initially I was beating up everything and at some point I think she was following someone that died and I got her glued to me.

In any case, the trial took longer than the one and only Keyes trial I was lucky enough to be a part of, and I hardly got to do anything, because I was told if I didn't I could be the cause of the entire league failing, and when I did what I was told, I was stuck with Threads.

...at any case, yes it is nice to get 2 Empyreans for my trouble but it was not a good first impression. I loved the ending movie though, that was pretty cool.

...so do I. PVP is REALLY REALLY FUN... in other game genres entirely.

It's not Paragon's fault - MMO PVP takes very little skill - it really boils down to how little of a life you have to dedicate to a PVP build that determines who wins in MMO PVP, since all you can do is move and try for high rolls on the dice.

    ...no really, think about it.
  20. I didn't read the thread, but the only thing I could come up with for a new Interface power is an end cost drain/end recovery power. What else could there be?

...also, any guesses on what they could add to Alpha?
  21. Can Evenom and/or Weaken's special fx from the Poison set be made into something like a recolored Melt Armor?

As it stands now, I think it is very difficult to tell which mobs have been affected unless you are looking for the defense and resistance debuff graphics.
  22. DS9>all other Treks.

    ...and Garak rocks.
  23. It's unfortunate that you are placing a limitation on characters, because 2 aoe brutes and 2 kinetic corruptors would be a glorious thing. You guys would tear through this game probably faster than 4 fire/rads.

...I know, because I was part of a superteam supergroup called Brutal Speed several years ago. Everyone was either a fire or elec brute, or a kinetic corruptor, having double speed boost and stacked fulcrum shifts, all running maneuvers and assault, etc.

I would love to see your build.
