I'm questioning his automatic rejection of sets that cap at lower than 50 by point out that one of the most powerful and in demand sets does not go up to 50.

Also, the main benefit isn't the scaling, it's not paying a half billion for 4 pieces.
I don't have a single Kinetic Combat enhancement on any character at all. I don't try to softcap toons unless they are using a defensive armor set and even then I play this game with others as often as possible instead of trying to maximize solo play. Yes, on teams it would just be that much more uber, but I think out of all my toons that I currently play, only my SR tanker is currently beyond the softcap.

That's correct. I don't softcap every toon I come up with.

This. I was surprised how much xp you get on those short little runs - I was getting several bars a run in the 40s this way.

...but yeah, regular run ITFs are great XP.

Only VIPs can post to the forums so... yeah, this doesn't affect him in any way.
  5. I grabbed purples where I could put purples - FSC is slotted that way since I wasn't sure I wanted to lose any regen at the time by losing the Scirrocco bonus.

I have about a billion inf on him right now.

Barrier is on auto since it is perma outside of activation. I am not sure if I explained it correctly: I never use Mids to build a character. I might use it to look at other's builds, but what I did here is recreate what I have made on live, which taught me how to use the tool in the first place. I wanted to see what the totals looked like and to get feedback.

The things that drove me crazy while leveling this toon was kb and the avoid behavior from burn. I took care of the kb as even with a mag 8 I was getting kb from the sparks created from warworks dying on trials, and I am very interested to see how effective the new Spectral Interface will be once it gets the new buff in an upcoming patch to immobilize foes for Burn.

HELL YES. I want those to be available to EVERY AT though.

    • When they say these can be e-mailed, does that mean that they are not bound to a character? For example, I do a respec at level 26 to unslot them, could I e-mail them to another character on the same account?
From some of the comments on this thread, I think the answers are yes and no respectively, but I would like to be certain without having to spend real money to find out.
    Sure sounds that way.

Lower the price more and make them a permanent addition to the store and I can see myself buying them. Under current conditions, I pass.
Yes, and only the Mako's set lasts until lev 50, which is the ONLY WAY I would ever consider buying a set.

Marketing: get the devs to make NEW sets that are only purchaseable through the store, are untradeable, and are attuned from 1-50. Make them have the values of a plain yellow set and have it be available to every character I make instead of a one-time character specific item. THAT would be very interesting. I could work off those until I gather in-game money for stuff that is on the market. If anything, this would make the market grow in availability:

Now, considering MARTy and the upcoming changes to AE farming, I expect the market to shrink considerably. Availability of recipes are already suffering - lately I have been noticing hundreds of people offering bids on items that do not exist on the market simply because there is a shortage. I don't know if it is just due to people vendoring recipes more often or what.
  10. Irish, what are your comments on this one: Link

He is not designed for defense, but he feels really good.

  13. I finally sat down and used Mids to recreate the character I love most in all 7 1/2 yrs I've been playing, and I was hoping our resident experts can provide constructive feedback for me.

I wasn't going for anything in particular while building him, but he feels really really good while playing. I am not looking to be defense softcapped but I was going for recharge/regen/proc damage mostly.

  14. My fire/fire scrapper.

Every attack has procs, plus purple sets, plus tier 4 everything for incarnate (love Reactive) plus accolades. He was fun the entire time leveling too. Made on day 1 of issue 12, when scrappers first could make fire/fire.

In all 7 1/2 years I have never had as much fun with a toon.
  15. The Scarlet Witch doesn't use any magic whatsoever.

  17. My comment wasn't about free players, but I thought that was obvious.
  18. I still doubt it - warworks and all that just don't seem to bow down to control effects much or for very long.
  19. Unfortunate that CoF and OG are useless in all end game raids.

Right now, I don't think there is any need for balance-related changes to Dark Armour - need in this case meaning 'if this is not done, the population of this armour set will fall significantly and permanently.' I don't think any armour set is significantly behind the others for the archetypes that get them.
That's true, but again, no one ever said or hinted at that.
  23. That's enough. All of you are now attacking each other - as I have stated multiple times, this is to gather responses to that possible change and nothing more.

I have played devil's advocate in this thread for spurring thoughtful responses and I have received the information. Please stop attacking each other.

I was asked to gauge responses to this possible change that addresses the largest complaint in all 7+ years of Dark Armor history, which has always been endurance cost. You can feel free to discuss it but let's be a bit more civil mmmkay?
  24. Yeah their problem is more about recharge.
  25. It's tough to come up with a balanced scenario since I doubt using dark regen less than once a minute is the norm for taking alpha strikes on teams.
