That brings up another proliferation: ice melee and ice armor for scrappers. In one of the recent live broadcasts they mentioned the possibility of brutes getting that stuff considering how the AT has changed since issue 6.
-
My wife's DB scrapper is a monster, that's all I have to say. I'm pretty sure she uses 3 combos - the build up one, the sweep, and the heavy hitter.

Quote:If I remember right, you also have complained for years that you can't make a Superman clone by having tankers do far more damage. We can't have everything we want. That is true and I do not care.
I want the option.
My story says that my Incarnate powers are so cool and Incarnate Charisma rolls so great that Longbow/Arachnos/Praetorians/Soldiers of Rularuu were impressed enough to follow me into battle.
Someone else's story may be that they broke into a Warworks warehouse, hacked their programming and hijacked some for themselves.
I'd rather powers give people the option to tell their own stories. More customization is always better than none.

Is Bill still around? I would love an update to this with Street Justice and Titan Weapons added in.

Quote:Yeah. I would be happy to help - I used to work Support for WeGame and I know the staff personally even though I live across the country from the company. As I posted in my sig from several years ago, I was the one that got CoH supported in WeGame in the first place.I use wegame.
The audio really that bad? I usually don't play with any sound on and I'm no good at video editing things like some of the pros here
The audio is overblown - adjusting your Stereo Mix will not affect anything else you do on your computer. Once adjusted, that's it - everything will automatically record everything just fine - no editing required. If you are using Vista/Win 7, just right click your speaker icon and go to Recording Devices. Go to Stereo Mix and hit Properties, then go to the Levels tab and turn it down. I don't know what kind of audio card/chip your machine uses so you will have to experiment by recording a little. -
See, this introduces a possible problem. If Fiery Melee doesn't do more damage in general than the other primaries, we may need to hit up the powers team for possible buffs/nerfs, simply because of the lack of any mitigation in that set.

The ghostly effect is part of the story - they are from the Well if I'm not mistaken.

Quote:Come to think of it, that seems a natural fit.I'm soooo happy that there are many more Lore powers to pick from, but some of the choices seem to be odd or cant imagine that they would ever get used.
If you could create a new Lore Powerset, what would you make?
Personally, I'd like to see the Cabal Witches from Croatoa as allies... -
Quote:Yeah, don't forget about a giant nuke every minute and a half or that you can boost recharge by a massive amount which makes you farm far faster on top of IOs/procs/interface plus having all of that stuff (except recharge) on cimeroran/warwork pets crushing enemies within seconds.Do Incarnate powers really make that much difference? Your standard farmer is mowing down tons of weaker mobs rather than fighting the sort of thing that Reactive procs will have time to add up on, so as long as you use a build that doesn't require Cardio and can survive without a Destiny buff the only thing you're missing out on is the level shift and a bit of recharge or damage. That will make you PL faster, but I can't see it making such a huge difference as to make non-Incarnate PLing worthless.
Incarnate abilities certainly increase the variety of characters that can farm well, but I don't see them making the old pre-Incarnate farming builds that much faster.
There is actually quite a big difference. -
Quote:Vigor might be better for a tank that wants end reduction. Only Cardiac tier 4 core has more end reduction but Vigor also buffs acc and healing.Cardiac might be of interest for a tank -- it would let them offload some slotting from endurance reduction. I have tier 4 in my MM, and the 45% reduction is a godsend (traps MM, takin' a kneel almost constantly
) because all slotting is oriented around, well, everything useful *except* endurance reduction.
-
Yeah I went with Spectral on one character since I use Oppressive Gloom and dislike wandering mobs - same goes for fiery aura scrappers using Burn - immob them in that patch. The DoT of Spectral is the same as Reactive but doesn't get the yummy resistance debuff. Spectral is also thematic for dark armor anyway.
-
Well, would you get more out of what Vigor Core or Vigor Radial would give over Cardiac if your goal was to have a bunch of end cost cut down (since Vigor gives 33% end cost red in either branch?)
I agree about Destiny - Clarion or the new Incandescent are highly sought after for the UG trial, especially Clarion.
Many of the new Interfaces are getting doubled in strength and are currently on the beta server for us to test:
The damage of the Degenerative and Cognitive branches was intentionally lower than the damage of Reactive, Spectral, and Preemptive. However, the damage difference ended up feeling like too much of a penalty for doing Psionic or Toxic damage. We’re increasing the damage of both Degenerative and Cognitive to be closer to the other DoTs, without completely eclipsing them.
Speaking of Degenerative, the –MaxHP has been retooled to correctly apply to all possible targets. Against most enemies in the game, Degenerative will apply a fairly sizeable –MaxHP debuff. Against very high-health/strong targets, Degenerative will apply a fixed debuff of 150 hp per stack. This helps keep the ability on par with reactive when fighting targets like Hamidon Mitos, Reichsman, etc.
The Endurance Drain over Time component of Preemptive has been significantly increased. Preemptive has also gained a chance for a –Recovery debuff of slightly less magnitude than that of Gravitic Interface. This power should now be a very attractive option for builds with sapper-type powers, or for characters who want to help their teammates sap a target more easily.
The duration of the Immobilize and Confuse procs was erroneously being affected by Archetype modifiers for those effects, in many cases making them so short as to be useless. The duration of these effects should always be 4 seconds in PvE, and 2 seconds in PvP.
The proc chance of the status effects in Spectral and Cognitive branches was too low to be useful to a solo player, without really gating league power at all. We’re doubling the chance to confuse, and increasing the chance to immobilize by 2.5 times its current value. -
I'm not sure how many 'actuals' are required for a person to believe a set of numbers tested in a very specific scenario with a specific build that could have affected a specific time period vs the dev's intended design, but I bet it is high.

EDIT: nevermind - it took over an hour for the NCSoft emails to come
-
EDIT: Nevermind - it just took an hour for them to get the email
-
Ok, now they are going to just buy the VIP starter kit and forget the points, but now it is getting to a point where it asks them to confirm it via email and they haven't received the email, even after using the Resend button, and even though they have already received email from NCSoft already.
-
Those numbers are also wrong according to Arbiter Hawk's spreadsheet data.
-
Ok you confused me there, since the VIP starter kit does buy you a month of VIP.
-
Should be noted that Assault is end hungry by itself, but typical slotting using SOs would be 2 acc/3 dam/1 end reduction when running hasten for your attacks - might get by with 1 acc with fully slotted targetting drone (put at least one end cost in targetting drone.) Personally I never slot acc for nukes - most nukes have higher accuracy than most attacks in the game and nearly everyone will hit aim+buildup OR in this case be running targetting drone and eat yellows and reds before full auto. Combat Jumping is overslotted. Maneuvers is unnecessary - all of those combined won't really keep you alive. Using Body Armor + Tough together might get you some additional survivability by a little bit with decent use of Aid Self here and there.

Quote:Ah thanks. If they are trying to take advantage of the black Friday offer, you need to go via the ncsoft.com website, I believe

Question: when a friend of mine clicks on the 'become a VIP' in the game character select screen, it is listing it as 14.99 - does it change at the end of the transaction or something?

EDIT: nvm, got my answer
