I agree - help me out with a side comment here. This is just my guess so please correct me as needed. I see it in this order just from my own experience:
Lethal
Smashing
Energy
Fire
Cold
Negative
Psionic
Toxic
Is that the right order from most resisted to least for the majority of the game? I may have cold/fire reversed though - not too sure on that. I still think Icicles should do pure cold damage instead of lethal. -

Quote:This. I can't believe how good it is for buzzsaw types. DM/EA is nearly designed to go together.Love my DM/EA, never could get into DM but now I am loving it with EA as secondary.
I mean, the strength of the set is that it gets you extra recharge for every enemy around you, plus of course the -tohit to help defense, plus constantly healing yourself with Siphon Life on top of Energize...
Super easy to get massive recharge, unlimited endurance, two heals, etc. It's just an amazing pairing. Yeah, you lack aoe unless you slot up soul drain as an attack and grab an epic/patron aoe, but you can spam your single target attacks very quickly, and they animate fast. -
Quote:Preemptive/Spectral/Reactive actually do the same base damage. When the next patch hits, Cognitive and Degenerative will only do 3 points less than the rest if I remember correctly. The damage difference for the interfaces isn't very high. I was actually under the impression that the DoT from Preemptive and Spectral was "moderate" and comparable to Reactive. The DoT for Degenerative and whatever the psionic one is called is "minor" and strangely enough resisted more often by enemies. I wouldn't suggest the psionic proc for any reason, since like half the incarnate enemies are robots and even in the new Dark Astoria with i22 it will be Banished Pantheon zombies.
Preemptive's end drain effect, even after the upcoming patch, is completely pointless unless you are a character that is designed to do end drain, like electric control/kinetics etc.
Spectral - I went with this one on my stone/dark since I was hoping it would help fight Oppressive Gloom wandering. I want to do some thorough testing when the patch hits to see if it would be worth it for my fire/fire scrapper, since all enemies run out of my burn patch (no taunt.) -
Quote:I dunno man, Vanguard seem really terrible in both branches, but maybe I am missing something. The buff pet turns Assault off all the time, and has a tohit check on the heal, and doesn't run up to you or the other pet for the heal to hit either. They were listed as second worst damage from that one Pylon test when we are talking about Core too.Lore: Numerically, Cimeorans or Warworks are the best for single target damage. Seers have the best support pet, which might be more useful on your character anyway. Longbow have a ton of -regen from the Cataphract, and I've heard that Storm Elementals are great at AoE damage but I haven't really seen that personally so YMMV. Really, you can't go wrong with Lore pets anyway.

Is it really worth slotting defense in Energy Drain though? Even fully saturated I would only think it would give a few points of defense.
-
I have played it quite a bit, but not on a team. I could see some of the non-momentum attacks corpse blasting. I am not dissing TW at all; I was just referring to the comment I quoted.
-
Actually I don't think it is possible outside of scripted events to get kb when you are mag 12. I've never seen it happen on my fire/fire scrapper anyway.

Quote:That still doesn't nullify what I said at all, since I never said anything about Titan Weapons being slower.Er, no.
These numbers are before the power name changes, but the cast times haven't changed afaik:
Defensive Sweep: 2.20s
Crushing Blow: 2.00s
Follow Through: 1.00s (requires Momentum)
Sweeping Strike: 2.43s
Shatter Armor: 2.30s
Whirling Smash: 1.00s (requires Momentum)
Arc of Destruction: 2.50s
So the slowest non momentum attack (the tier 9, a huge damaging cone) is still faster than ET (2.67) and much faster than TF (3.3). Plus with TW you'll have momentum after you hit the BU equivalent or any other attack except for the two that require momentum. So most of your attacks will have a 1ish sec cast time.
The big ST hitter (Shatter Armor, which had the name changed but I don't remember the new one) has about the same cast time as KO Blow outside momentum. -
Quote:Click Me.Salmon?!?! Who fights with a salmon?!?!?!
If you're going to fight with a giant fish, Carp is the way to go. -
Other than radius, Whirling Hands isn't a problem - it's like many sets, where the one PBAOE does roughly the same damage as the weakest attack in the set.
Some ideas in here are interesting though. I've always wished that it had higher chances of status effects baked in, but it's been a long time since I played this set. It used to be the top Stalker set for a very long time. -
Ah, here it is:
If they could revamp one powerset:
Synapse: Energy Melee if it's minor, totally tearing apart and starting over, he has to pass.
Posi: Energy Blast, as it was one of the first sets they did. They have a lot more tools in the toolbox now to make a cooler set.
BS: Power pools "I'd revamp presence, medicine, possibly even fighting." -
...actually, they might, according to a recent quote during one of the broadcasts. I will have to look it up but one of them said they want to fix EM without having to redo the whole thing.
-
Quote:Wait until you see non-momentum Titan Weapons. The thing with Energy Melee as it currently stands is there is just way too much delay in the set between when you queue an attack and when it actually hits the target.
On teams often a lot of the damage becomes overkill damage because between that amount of time it takes for an attack I have queued to actually hit the target often someone else has decided to attack that target as well, and often kills them before the attack even lands.
It almost makes me want to make a /macro TF "$$team Using Total Focus on $target, it will be dead in 3 seconds, please attack another target!" -
Yeah, the only thing I would change is widening Full Auto's cone. Ignite can already be made perma even after the nerf.
The nerf was necessary - it was insane before. -
Quote:Uh, really? It sounds like you are craving the limelight. Why would you care if someone helps defeat enemies faster? This comment struck me as selfish, I am sorry to say.I'd have quit the game a while ago without IOs - what I wish never happened was Incarnate stuff past the Alpha slot. Nothing makes you feel as insignificant as having an IOed-to-the-gills toon go try to solo a spawn, only to have someone one-shot the entire spawn before you get there with their Judgement.
I know I can get one too, and I know that I don't have to team with a bunch of other incarnates. But it's still annoying. -
Due to the upcoming Stalker changes, I wonder if they will be able to out-damage DM/EA Brutes and Scrappers when it comes to single target DPS.
-
Then it should just flat out-damage them in AOE potential.
-
Sonic Armor.
Also - I would think the OP would be concerned about mastermind primaries vs secondaries, no? -
Yeah that's what I am saying - arguing against it just shows a player's true colors.
-
Quote:Maybe just make the DoTs scale with fury?Well, fire armor had to have a recent buff, to put it ahead of shield defense. (Which is still so good it's broken.)
Maybe fire melee also needs a touch or two.... Because damage is ALL it does. If other sets with far FAR better mitigation are doing similar damage, that needs lookin' after. -
