  1. No you don't understand - they only run from scrapper's Burn.
  2. Poison Trap just got fixed today - it now works with all enhancements and procs.

Elixir is actually extremely useful I've noticed, even on level 53 incarnate trials. I would skip Antidote - clear mind powers are pretty useless when they are such short duration.

I agree about the rest, although I would have a hard time not taking the nuke for fun.
  3. Yep the new Interfaces got doubled today on live.

If only that were true. It's not.... at all. Ever see the infamous SS/Fire brutes farming mobs? The mobs stay in Burn all the time due to the constant taunts - it's not due to them falling down from the occasional foot stomp. On a scrapper, they run the instant you drop Burn every time.

Do some testing and you will see what we are talking about. Fear was removed but apparently not Avoid.

It got one a few years ago. Everything in the set was sped up except Ignite which got slowed down.
  6. With my Stone/Dark brute, I use 4 slotted Stamina (perf shift proc) 3 slotted Superior Conditioning (another perf shift proc) and 6 slotted Physical Perfection on top of the Theft of Essence proc in Dark Regen.

On top of that, I have the Vigor Radial Alpha at tier 4, which gives the same end cost as Cardiac Radial, accuracy for Cloak of Fear, Fear Duration for the fear, and added healing for all of those powers on top of 3 slotted Health.

No end issues whatsoever, even though Stone/Dark is an end nightmare typically.

Although Synapse did change Regeneration so maybe, just maybe he(assuming Synapse is a guy) will hear our cries.
    Stay tuned.

You were replying to me regarding your own build which is different than the ones I was talking about, as if I was wrong, that's all.

Wrong. There is a text bug on beta though.
  10. I bet this hits live with the patch tomorrow.
  11. Breath of Fire sucks and I would never recommend it. Lethal vs fire resistance, on top of constantly having fire DoTs helps quite a bit. I guess the argument you are making is that you get a melee cone added to burn and lotus drops vs the lesser fire resistance you meet and the fire DoTs.
  12. I was referring to the above builds with only one slot being used to grant defense - you weren't even in this thread until now, Deacon.
  13. Fire/Kin Corruptor, Fire/Fire Dominator, Kin/Sonic Defender, etc.

I think a kin toon would be savagely sought after for a melee-heavy server.
  14. Kinda surprised how many of you make defenders with such weakly slotted shields for teammates. Cold defenders are wanted because of those shields along with sleet before anything else; let's be honest.
  15. EDIT: Updated.

Here is the Mid's build. I made this character on day one of Issue 12, and have probably played him the most of any of my toons. I never planned him out or built him in Mids beforehand, however I did sit down and basically copy what I have on Live to Mids recently. I have Spiritual Core, Reactive Radial, Barrier Core on auto, Phantoms Radial, and Pyronic Core at tier 4. I concentrated on regen and procs. I frequently run demon farms or fire AE missions but he feels good on anything really. I just HATE that mobs run out of Burn for only scrappers - doesn't seem fair. I can't justify respeccing into tentacles just for that though. Anyways, thoughts? I haven't decided if I am going to finish the purple set in FSC yet or not.

  16. Focused Burst is way too good to skip, but Repulsing Torrent is skippable easily in my opinion.
  17. Going to jump in and agree with /Fire - your nuke is up fast combined with Bullet Rain, then use Fire Sword Circle and Burn.

Consume is nothing to sneeze at either when IOd up.
  18. Yeah I bet if Eldagore IOd and respecced his character he would feel crazy powerful.

Fire/fire is insane. Yes, the sword attacks for fire are all good, particularly Fire Sword Circle. Greater Fire Sword does about the same damage as Incinerate only that it does it all up front. Fire Sword is your standard tier 2 attack.

You would basically be trading knockup and defense for far more damage in the long run, so it's kinda up to you. I can only speak with lots of experience as a scrapper, and the one and only problem is dealing with running mobs from Burn, which you won't have a problem with as a brute.

Crazy damage - build up, fiery embrace, and all of those scaling DoTs on top of the interface of your choice that deals damage - you can concentrate on your survivability abilities and less on your damage because fire/fire does such crazy amounts of it by default.

I would highly encourage Spiritual Core Alpha to get healing flames boosted up. This is the exact build my scrapper uses; naturally the brute side would be slightly different in the 40s but I would love to hear feedback on it.

What do you think of Eldagore's changes?

    Does this seem right?
In case you haven't been up to date with the beta testing - Cognitive's magnitude, chance for proccing, and confuse length are all getting doubled. I am hoping it hits this next Tuesday along with Titan Weapons.

...oh and the damage portion is going from 7~ to 10~.

No they all had Fear removed but not Avoid. Tankers and brutes auto-taunt everything but scrappers don't - so all enemies run for the hills when a fiery aura scrapper drops Burn still.

    Kinda sucks.
  22. Yeah I just fired up a very old character with EM/EL and Energize's recharge seems slower than it should be for a set that has zero defense, even when running fully slotted Tough. The character is only level 40 with vanilla IOs so maybe I am missing something.

I haven't noticed, but it still bugs me that the game replays the Disintegration hit when an enemy dies/gets arrested.

I find the stuns do as well as my other characters that have a knockdown effect- while not reliable per se, over time it is a constant form of mitigation that does make a noticable difference.

My gut feeling is that total focus should be turned into thunderstrike. It would keep its animation, and mag stun, and still do big dmg on the targeted foe. It would then also do some moderate aoe on surrounding targets- but then also include a mag 1 stun to them.

This way, the longer animation is justified because the dmg is increased with aoe splash dmg, and also stun is added to help mitigate incoming dmg. I would see this being used well in the set- EM really is a set somewhat focused on taking out the hard targets. So you use this on a boss or liut, the target takes a good chunk of dmg, and his minion pals take some dmg and possibly get stunned also.

This change would increase EM aoe potential some, which is one of the big complaints, and would help in sort of a back door way with the crazy long animation time on TF as it would make the animation time worth while- lots of value packed in to justify lots of time.

Also- so far as ET, I agree with the idea posted earlier the dmg needs to come right away followed by self dmg, which could leave the animation time the same but make corpse blast much less common. This change would keep the power as is so far as normalization but removes the headache of corpseblast.
Yep, could someone kick this over to Synapse via PM? I think this would pretty much normalize the set.
