I understand, but I see tons of other MMO videos that don't shut the entire UI down. I understand that it may be intimidating to see the UI initially for those who have never played such a game, but as you may have noticed, this was geared for players of other MMOs, and that's why I categorize the archetypes as I do.

I agree with Relentless - no one is going to watch 11 minutes of someone playing around with the character creator. It would be better if you showed the build size section, then after picking a size, just hit the random button several times rapidly to show the depth to give the impression you can look like anything.

Just slapped a simple vid together, nothing special, to show a peek at the basic 5 archetypes.

Not much of a video maker myself, but if it's decent enough people could use it to introduce it to others via email so they can get an idea of how COH/V relates to other MMOs:

WAY too overpriced for something like this. Yay to having the option, but crazy high in price.

I will never need to use it with all the other options to get one on top of the numerous ones I get right off the bat for being such an old veteran, but I like the idea of having it there for others, but please cut the price in half!

No such thing as a Nvidia Catalyst. Catalyst is the name of the ATI driver package. Nvidia/ATI are rivals. AMD owns ATI now.

Interesting. I don't agree with one of the first suggestions, and that's to skip the tutorial. Get to level 2 in a reasonable amount of time, and sell those huge inspirations for big bucks to help get you started.

Just yesterday resurgences were selling for $100,000 on the villain side. Granted, you have to earn enough to put it on the market for that much, but it's obviously worth it.

I really liked the style of this guide. Simple and correct too, from what I know of the sets - I would go 3 defense and an end cost in the armor, but otherwise it's great.

Guess I'm the odd one out. My first villain from COV launch is a level 50 Stone/Dark brute. Can't say it was easy mind you, the end use is insane, but I don't hate DA.

Btw, ATI cards do not get the 'outdated drivers' message anymore and haven't for awhile.

Lol it's true. Took them 5 revisions but now it's stable.

ATI OWNERS:

All my problems have been fixed with the Catalyst 7.5 driver. Don't ask me why, but it is true. I have never crashed once.

I run it in Vista mode - I have nothing turned on in the compatibility tab for the shortcut to the game or the updater.

Yes, I haven't tried that yet. I have a 9700 Pro in my wife's machine. I'll give it a whirl at some point. Since today is Sunday, I think I will just boot into XP and get some salvage.



BTW, I do plan on doing a massive rebuild next tax return.

I will probably end up going completely the other way next year and grabbing Intel and Nvidia goods. By then DDR3 should be widely available and DirectX 10 will be perfected a bit more.

Yes, I tried going under 'all users' which I had not tried before, and I thank Zloth for mentioning it. No use. Crashed the instant I opened an info window. I've reformatted once since February's launch date of Vista as well to no avail.

There has been 4 Catalyst driver releases since Vista's launch and this is the only game that has problems. I suppose it's all to do with OpenGL.

I can usually run it fine if I don't open the windows with a 2d picture.

Let's hear it. Spew your hatred towards this once $500+ video card like you do to so many onboard chipsets not even close in performance to this card, once the flagship of the company.

By the way, I have XP on another drive and it runs flawlessly when booted into XP.

I still have the exact same problems as when Vista launched:

Every time I open a window that has a 2d image, say, the info screen on a character, the contact list, the ID screen, etc., it either shows a black box, or (and this is what happens most of the time) it locks up the whole PC.

A bit off-topic, but to the person that mentioned Planetside, it is NOTHING like CounterStrike. They are on complete opposite ends of the FPS spectrum, as it were.

I do know, because I played it for a year a long time ago. I only dropped it because of COH.

Anyhow I thnk of this set as I think of Energy Blasters after ED. I just feel incredibly weak and the aoes are not even worth it. (not counting nova or lightning rod)
