Yeah I agree. I would probably use glue first, then disruption, then acid, as by that time they will be grouped up a bit more for acid to hit more targets, then oil slick, blazing arrow, and fistful or RoA depending on how high a level the mobs are, but they should pretty much all die just from the burning oil slick with all those debuffs (if your oil slick is loaded with damage enhancements.)
  2. Ooh, glad I found this thread.

I actually ended up taking Flash Arrow last, I just didn't think it did much. It's basically Smoke Grenade from Devices with different graphics. I took ALL the powers in TA eventually.

Recharge, recharge, recharge. 3 slotted Hasten is a must with this set.

Acid Arrow and Disruption Arrow will really make teams melt mobs. I think Disruption Arrow is pretty much my second favorite power in the set, behind Oil Slick.

Thank goodness the powers team fixed Oil Slick after all these years.

It's a team-oriented set like most defender primaries. You CAN effectively solo mob groups once you are high level, by using EMP, glue, disruption, acid, oil slick, then light the oil slick with blazing arrow if you have enough endurance, but really, it is more fun using it on teams.

I always have Assault and Tactics running on mine too. Anytime a defender can handle the endurance, you should grab those powers. I can see rad, sonic, and maybe storm skipping Leadership but even my sonic has Assault.

TA and Traps are kinda sorta similar - lots of debuffs that require massive recharge.

Yes, they are. If one was to do a comparison and is forced to pick, you're damn right everyone in the world would pick empathy as the 'healer' class.

Everyone loves to avoid being forced to place that label on anything in this game, but if you have to, Empathy Defender would be it. Massive regen buffs are just heals over time, in a sense. The game actually considers heals hitting something with negative damage.

Hey, I'm with you on wanting to focus on other areas when it comes to defenders. I love my TA defender to death, for example, but come on, this argument is just tiring after all these years. Just shrug your shoulders and stop fighting it.

Defense makes sense too, but using time to speed up end recovery for teammates also makes sense - that's why I mentioned regen over heals.

By the way, even though defense makes sense, we don't need yet another set of bubbles IMO, even with the wonderful changes coming in 20.5.
  5. Ok, updated the OP. No doubt other changes are coming with Issue 21, and even though the devs have their hands full with everything announced, I am still holding out some hope.

Lol... You beat me to it.

I expect regen, not heals. I expect enemy slows and a hold. I expect recharge and endurance buffs.

That's about as far as I've gotten.

Yeah, I'm sure that a producer's letter would of course need to mention stuff like that... >.< I hope you are kidding.

You have a good point, but there are other mm secondaries that do no damage - we need to consider balance. I could see it, as it would be unique.

The heal just needs an end cost reduction IMO. Sure, I would love if it was an aoe, but as someone mentioned, it's similar to O2 Boost from Storm without the disorient resistance.
  9. Nice! ...and it isn't easy, at least for me, to stick with an energy blaster. I had one in the 40s that I eventually deleted because I hated the kb so much on teams, so you get extra kudos.
  10. I added it to the first post.
  11. I mean, it does nuke damage where the only downside is size and fear.
  12. Which portions of the power should stack then?

My suggestion is to pretend this power doesn't exist and ignore it. Between Oil Slick, Flame Thrower, and Full Auto their should be little left to deal with. What is left can be Buckshot'd, and M30'd to death.
That's why we are commenting on web envelope so much. Ignite does massive, massive damage, and even if you don't get an immobilize and never team with another character that can immobilize or hold, I would STILL recommend Ignite, it is just that good.
  14. Interesting - you mean like dark is currently. It's certainly fun to play around with.
  15. I agree with William.

I just don't see them tweaking this anytime soon, if the stream is any indication. Black Scorpion made it sound like the powers team is overloaded with work as it is, with the team buffs changes and the huge influx of Lore pet powers coming up.
  16. Actually, I wonder if we could make it weak to cold damage instead of negative. I like your idea of the puking animation but how many people would get grossed out ALL THE TIME with enemies constantly puking on their character? haha
  17. Yep, on my AR/Kin I also took Black Scorpion for the shield but mostly for the web envelope.
  18. I can't remember - is this the guy that wants his tanker to do scrapper damage so he can make a Superman clone?

I will look again later, bed time now.
    I like these suggestions.

Here's my take on Rad. Melee, and my take on Rad. Armor.

So yes, I think they can work thematically within the game.
I really like the armor ideas there. First thing I disliked about the melee set was the first round with the damage aura doing lethal damage. It's already so silly to see Icicles do lethal instead of cold, and comparing quills doesn't really work since most of the set has a tiny bit of toxic damage.

I wouldn't mind seeing it though - something that is similar to fire armor without burn but doing energy damage with that unique aura that buffs recovery and recharge and all that sounds very fun. I would make one in a heartbeat - I also like the idea of irradiate as a pbaoe - it would have to do less -def than other versions of course.

I'd really like to know, especially if it's available to players, since I have some character concepts that revolves around those type of weapons (spears, scythes, etc.)

Also, the main thing that's keeping me from playing a Stone Armor character is the granite armor, which does not fit my concept, at all. So I'm all for more customization.
Oh I was thinking of the curved dual blades when you mentioned that, and the claymore is easily a broadsword clone although you did mention it would need to be two handed. I am not sure if it would be smart for them to create more sets that purposely disallow shield compatibility.
