The entire AR set was rebalanced due to Ignite, and Ignite got nerfed on recharge because it was just so insane.
We were bragging in the corruptor forum about using web envelope+fulcrum and then hitting Ignite, doing over 500 damage every 4 seconds (it used to recharge in 3 seconds but took 4 seconds to animate.)
The devs saw this and did an overhaul to AR due to Ignite being so crazy awesome. -
AR/Kin/Mace.
Web Envelope+Fulcrum Shift+Ignite+Flamethrower+Full Auto+etc. -
Normally I would say two fire/rads but the detoggle potential is kinda high. If you could overcome that issue the two of you would absolutely cream mob groups and having AM up often would be nice.
...but to be honest, a brute/kin corruptor duo is really hard to beat. I should know - some years ago I was part of a superteam sg called Brutal Speed. It was ridiculous - all fire and electric brutes combined with kinetic corruptors. I miss those days. -
This is so true. Traps is really good for masterminds though, in fact, I think it is the second best mastermind secondary.
I have to agree though - it's more of a matter of playstyle. There is a thread in the Defender forum about trying to balance the primary powersets and TA is the first one mentioned in needing a buff. I am not completely sold on that idea to be honest. It has to work harder than other sets, I agree.
While leveling up, Traps gets worse at high level whereas TA gets better, IMO. I don't think anything is skippable in TA, but if I had to pick I would probably dismiss Flash arrow as the to-hit debuff is pretty minimal. Yeah, yeah, yeah - I know it adds up and isn't resistable and all that, but I really think it is the only power in the set that doesn't have the potential to have a large impact.
Traps make you a far tougher toon than TA - it's not even a question. Mez protection and defense combined with a summon that can take alphas for you is no joke. -
Corruptors can solo better than defenders in my experience.
...but yeah, team more. See if you can grab Disruption arrow soon. It works exactly like sonic grenades from Longbow. -
Yeah when you get Acid and Disruption going it is quite noticeable. Mobs take more damage than when they are in tar patch or even freezing rain.

Energy Blast was water blast during development. So very tired of hearing requests for a water set.
I think a Traps Control set would be wicked. We could really use a tech control set anyway, even though you can kinda imagine the other sets as being tech-based.
Sonic melee and armor would also be sweet. -
Maybe we should clarify, just in case - I was referring to the COH Freedom and not the server, but perhaps you are doing the same - just checking.

I love the idea of asking a question and getting attacked as a vet and by other vets. It shows what the new influx of players will be up against when they are not asking me questions, as I won't do that to them.

Cute idea, but they did mention lowering the portal level requirement to 14.
