  1. I just dusted off my dm/elec buzzsaw brute and noticed a new power in my tray. Energize. I'm wondering how you might slot this with IO's/sets to get the best performance out of it
  2. yeah...kinda missed the whole shebang. Got a new Corr from 1 to 7.
  3. couldn't find any posts about the combo, but i have mine at 24 and she's really becoming a favorite. Anyone have one or a build? Wondering what i shouild slot for etc.
  4. Jawbreaker

    King of AoE?

My sonic/fire AoE blapper. The -res from siren's song + the sleep makes jumping into a big group a bit safer for the squishy. Then Fire sword circle, combust, Screeching wail if needed. Mine is built for +dmg and positional defensive slot bonuses
  5. anyone other than myself that would love to get back the old animation for storm kick?

I know all the min/maxers were glad to see it go, (ok sometimes i min/max builds, just not my MA/SR :P) but i've run into the occasional player that wants it back too

Arc #171149, "A helping hand can lead to broken fingers"
tl;dr: 3 stars. Offenses: "just a bunch of stuff that happened", canon issues, weak plot

    Reviewed on: 7/16/2009

    Character used: Agent Cerulean/Justice

"Drawback", a custom Contact who says he works for Vanguard, rather abusively asks for your help dealing with some kind of creature attack in the sewers. There may be some rookie heroes trapped down there still. The place turns out to be infested with some demonic-looking entities, led by a "Mysterious Woman", Lieutenant strength, who went on about not being ready and such. There are also several newbie heroes to rescue, some of which (along with the Big Bad) trigger ambushes. When you return you're told the Big Bad regained consciousness on the way to the hospital and escaped, which is of course your fault.

She turns up in Kings Row, having thrown some Skulls out of their hideout. Drawback has consulted with Dark Watcher on the case, who says her name is "Voxxa" and now that you "bear her mark" you'll have to fight her. Or...what? Anyway...Drawback has already sent in "Swingarm", you're to catch up and take Voxxa down. This one's on the burning Skulls map. Voxxa is in the top room and she runs on engagement. Since the elevator is only a few feet away, unless you can hold or root a Boss she's going to get away.

For the last act, Voxxa has been tracked to the RWZ. It seems she's an old enemy of the Dark Watcher and is looking for him. Unfortunately he's not in our dimension at the moment. You have to stop her before she gets any stronger, and you're told to "send her to Hell". This might have some ethical issues for the Code Versus Killing crowd, but on the other hand she is a demon. You're sent to one of the Vanguard base maps (the outdoor ones), with Vanguard versus Rikti versus Voxxa and her crew. It wasn't too hard to spot her from the air, now AV/EB strength. Her expanded bio says she was once a lover of Anansi the Spider, but he tricked her into a prison dimension. Once every so often she's released for a year; if in that time she can kiss Anansi she wins her freedom. It is implied that the Dark Watcher is Anansi, which constitutes Canon Defilement. You take her down, the end.

It's a short arc with not much too it. Ain't half bad, ain't half good neither.

Thanks for the review Venture. My goal with this was to make it the first of three, three-mission arcs. I see there's need for improvement in this one though.

Just one thing i want to mention (not that you're responding, but..) I meant for Voxxa to believe that the Dark Watcher was Anansi, but for her to have been mislead. I guess working that out in the second arc causes an issue in this one.

Maybe i'll request a re-review someday, thanks again!
  7. set up a race across several zones, no travel powers allowed

Shhhhh with your logica and stuff. My suggestion was a spur of the moment one with no thought whatsoever to any of the factors you mentioned. I never claimed it would be easy or viable... simply a single way to implement the idea that had been suggested.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is why it's a bad idea. If you're incapable of actually taking into account all of the other obvious factors that would need to be addressed to include a change, you don't need to be making the suggestion. Learn the game before you start deciding that it needs to be improved, especially in way that have already been mentioned in the past.

folks used to say that about power customization too, didn't they?

and they probably got the same types of responses too

If it didn't have SOMETHING, it'd be lame. Just "pop" and there you are. With the animation, at least you've got something to look at and judge your timing with, since it IS a clicky power.

If they made one animation for each of the Origins, *and you could choose among them* ... maybe. But not if it was enforced per-origin, and certainly it's not an emote-possible power so choosing on the fly (like flight, pardon the pun) is extremely unlikely.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Good idea. When someone picks teleport, we could get 6 powers added: [Teleport.Mutant], [Teleport.Magic], [Teleport.Science], [Teleport.Technology], [Teleport.Natural] and [Teleport]. Then, we could choose which one we put in our tray and which animation is used... much the same way that the Veteran [Sprint] variants are done currently.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    yeah i like that!
  10. Well, i'm not saying remove it, just give us options, like the flight emotes
  11. I just hate the "I need to go to the chiropractor" animation that TP currently has.

    I'd like some options, like:

    No animation ala Nightcrawler.
    A Doctor Strange-ish \m/ \m/ magical finger sign thingy.
A point at the fences animation, ala Babe Ruth (ok maybe not that one)

    anyone else?
  12. Thanks Fenris and Cien! Feel Free to steal it :P
  13. ooh good tip, i haven't defragged in a few months
  14. awesome, thanks for the help! what about a registry cleaner or some such? do they help at all, my comp has been a bit sluggish the past month or so
  15. I use AVG for viruses, anyone have a good anti-spyware program (free) that they can recommend? I've grown frustrated with my current paid spyware company
  16. Gonna try this over the weekend.

My Arc, #171149 "A helping hand can lead to broken fingers" starts off with you (and your team *hint*hint) headed to the AP sewers to help some rookies, and get more than you bargined for.

Looking forward to your version !
  17. nvm, found it....apparently i can't use The Dark Watcher as an ally
  18. I'm trying to put signature heroes/vills in a story but for the life of me can't find them under the critter options.

I've bought all the unlockable stuff from the AE vendor, i must just be missing a tag
  19. i posted mine 2 pages back, have at it, Stomp

    Fun Hero Builds?

My sonic/fire is a blast(pardon the pun) to play. Io'd for bonouses to damage, psoitional defense and recharge, she's an AOE blapper that drops large groups in melee range.

But she can also eat the floor faster than a drunken viking running across a tilt-a-whirl
