Just to be clear - is converting resolution (eg from 1600x1200 to 800x600) considered "manipulating" the image, or is it OK?

my first or second bank/robbery mission was cool and an interesting twist. my stalker is level 26 now and they are just getting old. i wish the devs would just stop requiring villains to do them over and over again and again.
[/ QUOTE ]
it's an optional task, just click "No" when you get the yes or no question asking if you will accept the heist.

Except that heists are the primary way to get more contacts. If you don't do Heists, then you're not going to be doing much else, either. -

I just got Hammer Down this morning - any idea *where* Crimson Revenant is?

Whoops, I can't believe I forgot that.
He's at -3.7, 103.5, 6636.5 on Nerva. I'll go through and fix those so everyone can find them.

CR wants Villains of lvl 30-35

And he specializes in Hero class enemies, so he's not solo-friendly.
Also, did Doc Buzzsaw and the Slot Machine over the past few days. They were well worth the time I took off from leveling to get the necessary badges. -
Unlike badges, Souvenirs go only to the mission holder.
-
Sorry to hear that
For what it's worth, while the Blackwand looks kinda neat (nowhere near Nemesis Staff, though) it only has 10 charges on it, so from a power perspective, you're not missing much.

What exacltly is the minimum requirement to complete Tarixus' last mission? The "Forge the Blackwand" mission.
I've been in the mission for a while now, and I don't see a boss, a glowy... is it a Kill all? I'm running out of time...
Thanks.

When I did this Saturday, the Altar was in a small pool room, the kind that's frequently off a side passage on the linear COT maps. There were 2 Behemoth spawning portals in the room (I was solo, there may be more portals for a group). The glowie was tucked off in a corner, in a position where you could only see it from about 1/3 of the room. Just follow the wall all the way around the room and you should find it (if it's the same layout, no idea how randomized his mission is) -
You have to defeat ghosts with them standing on top of the ghost traps in the fort.

I can give info on Tarixus. I've been playing badge-hunter for my SG, and in the process I picked up the Lore Keeper badge (I think- this is the Children of Enos history badge?). Yet when I stopped to chat with Tarixus, he wanted nothing to do with me. He told me to talk to someone else- female, two word name, both starting with C's, last one was Crush or something like that. That would determine if, 'our fates are intertwined' I think he said.

If he mentioned Crash Cage, then you're *probably* talking to Diviner Maros (near the ferry) and not Archmage Tarixus (near Potter's Field). Maros looks CoT-y, Tarixus like an Arachnos Mu mage. -

I'm actually considering slotting rest for the 1st time in my CoH/V career. Figure 1 rec-red and 2 int-reds should do it. I'll start with 1 int-red when I get home to see how much it helps.
That pause before the immobilized flag goes up is a killer.
[/ QUOTE ]
IntReds won't help the pause before the Immob+Heal happens, they'll just make it so that you can only be interupted during a smaller fraction of the pause. And really, if you're anywhere where you might be interupted, you probably don't want to use Rest.
I have to admit that I'm considering the possibility of slotting Rest for Heal and Recovery. If I have to pause and Heal, I want to minimize my Fury loss, so topping off the tank quicker has some appeal. Haven't decided though, and it won't be til the 20s at the earlist in any case. -
Is it Ice Minstral, or Ice Mistral?
-
OK, three questions come to mind...
1. As has been mentioned many times, will this extend to FF?
2. Will this extend to the APP versions of these powers?
3. Will a defense debuff debuff your defense debuff resistance to additional defense debuffs?
Sorry for any difficulty parsing #3, but that was, in fact, the clearest phrasing I could come up with. -
Nice post, Crazy. Some random thoughts...
The 75 person SG limit is becasue of base raids. ~150 people is the most you can have in an instance without getting problems on the server, so that makes the SG limit 75 (to accomodate both the attacker and defender). More comments on this later.
The more I think about it, the less I mind the idea of an SG-linked currency, ie Prestige. But there are some pitfalls that have to be avoided. The biggest one is this: CoH is the only MMO available (OK, that I know of) the divorces aesthetics from gameplay. In any other game, you have to sacrifice appearance for ability - almost anyone will take the ugly pink +10 plate instead of the cool looking non-magical chainmail. With the way the system is currently described, CoH tosses this feature out the door. You have to choose to sacrifice cool for a base. This is completely arbritary and non-sensical; how would you react if you were told that they were implementing a 10%xp bonus to anyone with red in their costume. These two systems are exactly the same - you get a game mechanic bonus becasue of an aesthetic decision.
So what needs to be done? SGs need to be overhauled. Prestige earning mode needs to be seperated from SG costume mode. A personal sacrifice of xp and/or inf needs to occur when in prestige mode, in order to make the decision to enter it a non-trivial one. Since the SG membership limits are based on technical limitations to the # of chars in an area, switch the limit to 75 accounts, since each account can only have 1 char logged in at a time anyway. And while you're at it, add 1-3 more levels within an SG, with editable permissions; despite how well it does many, many things, CoHs guild management is far behind the state of the art.
OK, have to catch my breath now, I'm sure I'll be back later.
Edit: CLeared up some typos. Probably missed some others. -
While I'm not a big fan of this idea, I will point out that the only thing that *has* to change when switching into sg mode is the chest emblem, you can leave all of the costume colors the same as they are in your base costume. This means it will be a (relatively) small change for most people, and no change at all for uniformed SGs where the SG emblem is the same as the required uniform.

This post lists who was there, although we actually had one more person, talking about the novels (sorry I can't remember the name).

Just a guess, since I wasn't there, but if the other person was talking about the novels, it was probably Sean "Manticore" Fish. (Though I suppose Robert Weinberg would also be a possibility) -

It got removed because you exceeded the one post/per dev post limit. Happened to me too, earlier in the thread.
I haven't leveled past the mid-teens with TA. I *think* that once I get into the 20s, where I can have both SO Recharge and enough slots in powers to make a difference, then the set will be playable, but it will be a slow road to get there. I think this is going to discourage people from playing TA (or, perhaps worse, playing with people who play TA), or it's going to give even more incentive to people to take perma-Hasten. I'm also concerned about the durations when playing on larger teams, where battles will outlast the debuffs. Haven't had the opportunity to see whether or not this will be a major issue, but it's something I'm watching. -

This will be reflected in the Defiance meter as well. We've made some tweaks to that as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just wanted to put in my $0.02 about the meter: it's currently very un-intuitive, with it's 0-1.0 scale representing (I guess) the current degree of buff. An easier to use scheme might be to have the bar scale from 0-500, showing the current %age of base damage the blaster is out-putting (with the default position being 100/500). This would just show the Defiance related damage buff, but it would give a much better representation of how damage is being effected. A more complicated option would be to have it also reflect *all* damage buffs/debuffs, which would make the display of some use to all ATs. -
Anything in the works (that you can talk about) in the way of an animated (or live action) series; either a standard 30 min show, a "micro series" like CN's Clone Wars, or a web release like WizKids "Rocketmen" CCG tie-in?
-
Any plans to expand the CoH fiction into other genre's, like books?
Edit: yay, fastest smart aleck on the boards!
More seriously: What's your favorite story within the game, and why? -
My TA/A is only up to 10, so haven't tried Acid, Gas or Resonator yet to comment on those changes.
Glue Arrow, on the other hand... Glue Arrow *is* TA, it's the mainstay of the set. It needs to be available for every battle, and it needs to last for a good bit of the battle. The 2 min recharge doesn't even bother me that much, though 90 secs might be nice, but I think the 30sec duration is too short - I know that won't last a whole battle when I'm solo. I'll give it some testing once it's live, and I may change my mind, but my first impression is that the duration is too short.
Two quick questions as well: Does TA have the 5% Acc bonus for being a drawn weapon set? Does it have the additional Acc bonus that is Archery's "special effect"? -
Well, I'll go on record saying I like the sounds. I've heard a number of people in game say they also like them, though in all honesty I've probably heard more say they don't.
Like I said in the Archery thread, I wouldn't expect a Blaster secondary unitl they finish re-evaluating the current sets. Expect Sonic Manipulation about the same time we see the other re-vamped. -
I remember when the scrapper walkthru was posted, Statesman specifically pointed out the Inner Will part of Herald's origin. I keep hoping for Pax to show up more in game.
