Theoretically - THEORETICALLY - the last sentence means that the dude stating it was not broken is right:

    It's playable.

I have a level 35 DP/Poison Corr that I have a lot of fun with. Certainly, she IS very fragile, and when playing at +0/x3 no bosses, there are times where I have to be very focused on what happens around me, but I wouldn't call the set unbalanced. Keep in mind, however, that it's been A LONG TIME since I've made a corruptor last, so YMMV.

Don't get me wrong though, I am aware that the set could get a lot stronger and, as always, will welcome changes to the set, although the only thing I'd say be needed (in the first place maybe?) was to allow the splash debuffs being stackable and MAYBE widen their radius.

After the 30s I wish I could skip Mental Blast on my def, the others are enough to make a good ST chain. The nuke is very good but of course will detoggle you.

(btw haven't seen a /pain toon in ages)
Obviously, I am certain not to pick Scramble Eggs-erm, Thoughts xP Other than that I do expect to pick up Psy Scream, as I love the animation for it :3 An after all, it IS stronger than Mental Blast Also expecting to take Subdue as my lvl 1 power, as it seems the better choice and finally I intend to take the nuke too, as I like the animation and like nukes all in all
  3. Hey everyone,

I have thought of making a Psy/something corr since i21 gave it to us. In the meantime, I am not sure if I should go for /pain or /time, as both sets thematically fit with the toon in mind. If anyone have experience with Psychic Blast on corrs (or defs, as it's basically the same powers) or any of the combinations specifically, please give me some advice ^^

    Thanks in advance

    28. Burn
    35. Fiery Embrace
    38. Rise of the Phoenix

In any case, I'm sure that the hangup would be Fiery Aura more than Fiery Melee - Fiery Embrace mean they get to redo every Stalker damaging power to add the damage line item.
Glad to see I'm not the only one having thought of Fiery Melee being ported to stalkers! ;D I have thought of some interesting ideas that could motivate making a Fire/ stalker instead of fire/ whatever-other-melee-toon:

I will concur on Siolfir's proposed proliferation list, but there should be a change in AS:

Assassin's Blaze should still be the name. The animation should be the same as claws and elec, where when standing in wind up mode, fire should assemble in the right fist. Then, when hitting the enemy, the fire should go into the enemy and explode into a phoenix like the one in RotP (Falcon Punch, anyone?); this explosion should then cause PBAoE damage, possibly with DoT INSTEAD of the standard demoralize (although -to-hit would be fair to add). This would help give fire the feeling of still being an AoE machine, while still dealing a big amount of ST damage (the PBAoE should not crit while hidden, to not make the power OP, IMO).

Of course, I thought of this way before i22 was introduced, so possibly this would be just too OP with the changes to AS (Though, the Falcon Punch animation should still persist, even if only ST! ;D).

Now, about FA, I think a new powerset should be "invented" to port over to Stalkers, to make it more thematically realistic, so the devs are not left standing with another "I can hide myself with electricity!". Thus, I give you Smoke Armor:

    Tier 1: Hide
Tier 2: Smoke armor (Fire Shield, just as a smoke animation instead)
Tier 3: [Healing Flames smoke clone]
    Tier 4: Temperature Protection
Tier 5: Smog aura/armor (Plasma shield, but with a smoke animation)
Tier 6: [Consume smoke clone] (This could possibly have some changes to it, I just cannot think of any as is)
Tier 7: Smokescreen (Yes, a Ninjitsu smokeflash clone, to go with the smoke theme, while also giving Smoke armor a Stalker tool; this version could also add some -to-hit or fire damage although that'd have to be burst and not DoT and a mechanics to make sure it wouldn't be bugged by Placat bugs ;P)
Tier 8: [Fiery Embrace smoke clone]
Tier 9: Either a RotP smoke clone or maybe a god mode the likes of icy bastion (Although that might be a tad too unoriginal to make it interesting)

Of course, I realise the above set would basically just be FA but with new animations, if ignoring Smokescreen. And yes, I realise many people don't like smokescreen, but really, it does seem more interesting to have a panic button as a Stalker than "just another PBAoE attack".
  5. Well, some comments on your critique points; will do my best to spread my observations.

You are right, the stealth powers have been intended as LotG mules, nothing less. I have glared at the Psionic APP before, but seem to remember people saying it isn't that good; I could be convinced to use it anyway, as long as I have the "optimal" amount of recharge in the build.

Regarding the low amount of defense in the set, I am aware of ways to increase it, don't doubt that; in the meantime, is it actually "needed" to be softcapped for the combination to work? After all, isn't the mitigation of the controls "enough" to stay alive through mobs?

Is it actually unusual for a Dom build to not include APP? I mean we all know dom's can do very good damage and, if, to some degree, ignoring Mind and Gravity, have many ways of totally neutralizing all enemies around them. Surely they won't need much other power?

That said, as mentioned above, I have thought about and wouldn't mind getting Psionic mastery instead of all the stealth powers.

Regarding hasten, thank you for answering my core question, the question of whether perma-dom without hasten is worth it!

Only point I'll comment upon in your thread is the abovementioned.

I can easier accept thinking of mace mastery when being informed of the lack of visible effects in the set's defenses. That said, in the end I think that other concept players can understand my thought that when you have a "planned" development of your toon, roads decided to avoid can under know circumstances be considered walking. The concept of this toon is to be an autonomous rogue, in fact the leader of a sect. That said, he came to power by the help of the mystic power of his sect, not any other means, Arachnos counting here.

So forgive the stubbornness, but I am willing to sacrifice build performance in order to fit the theme :P

Yeah, I know many people often recommend Mace Mastery, but I didn't take that pool on the build because the toon is themed to independent of Arachnos and any other faction but his own, thus no Epic pool.

But really, my question was more if I should go through with the build, with some tweaks of course, or if mind doms need the extra recharge from Hasten for the hard control AoEs with long recharge.
  7. Hi people!

Recently I was informed that it is possible to acchieve permadom without hasten active, and have thus made a build for my Mind/Thorn with it. My question however; is it worth it on Mind especially to go without permahasten? Or will the extra recharge be more interesting to have the hard controls come up more often?

I doubt I'll go live with this very build, as it is VERY end heavy if I so decide to run the toggles (not sure if I will). This is more hypothetical to have something going if it's more interesting to go without permahasten on a Mind dom.

If demoralize was worth it, perhaps. But it only lasts 8 seconds, doesn't stack, can't be enhanced and requires you to take a hit in DPS to keep up.
I've read the whole thread here, but don't really remember all the posts (surprising, I know :P), but IIRC, your issue with the coming changes is that hidden AS will become obsolete, right?

If so, would it maybe make hidden AS, or perhaps Demoralize, more attractive if it added a debuff to the target hit? I don't remember if this has been mentioned here, but for example adding a longer duration -res or -Maxhp? Would you think that'd make hidden AS more attractive to use?

From my own stand point, let it be stated now that I am not a numbers guy. I don't really care that much for optimal DPS and all that stuff, so, speaking from personal opinion, I'll still use hidden AS in regular content, likely even teaming. That said, I do understand your worrying about making Stalker tactics less important and the motivation to play as scrapping stalker instead.

Regarding this list, don't forget about some ambushes, as there are some in game that ignore, or see through to put it more motivating, you being hidden. This is especially a weakness if you're a non-defensive based secondary Stalker, like /regen and /elec.

As I see it, this will make it easier for my main (DM/Regen) to deal with unfair ambushes and tough battles (EB/AV). This said, my main intention with the new Stalker changes, which might as well be said at some point, is to only use AF+AS against ambushes, eventual double mobs and hard targets, as a means to not lose the feeling of being a Stalker.

    Notes:
As you can see, the build has melee and lethal softcap with double parry, and then it has about 40 % energy def. I have tried to push the E/NE def to softcap as well, but it is just too difficult!

Regarding Incarnate powers, I'm gonna go Vigor Core Paragon Alpha, possibly Pyronic core as can be seen in the build, then for Interface I'm not too sure; maybe pre-emptive or spectral regarding on, what costume I'm using (to thematically fit a tech sword or a rularuu/nictus sword). Thinking of going Rularuu Radial for the pbaoe +dmg the brute gives and then for Destiny I'm thinking ageless core thanks my current feel about the end management of the toon.

Any adds or other ideas for my build?
  15. I think the devs should use the old Storm Kick animation as an initiative to slighty revamp MA. Make Crane Kick a cone, possibly 45 degrees, possibly 90 degrees 5 opponents max perhaps with reduced damage. That'd give MA more AoE and give it AoE in the first place for Stalkers. Cool animation nonetheless.
  16. I'll join the ListoTYs. Thanks for the write up V_K, there was part of the stream I didn't catch

Curious, both to the quoted poster and to the thread participants in all. Are the maps very much more impressive in Ultra Mode or driving heavily on Ultra Mode mechanics? Cause if so, I'd expect to wait with doing the arcs till I have the right gear back...

I'm pretty sure I got that mostly right anyway, I haven't run many Rikti arcs in a while.
Do correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Rikti Homeworld once attacked by the Battalion, before the Nemesis Plot that is The Rikti War(s?) started? Or was it only the Kheldian planet?
  19. So do I, Todd! Even just two stalkers on a team can make it a lot more entertaining for the one of them!

Also, we (I) learned that 4 stacks of Assault (~40% +dam) allows for 1-hit AS on LTs w/o BU... and I haven't ED saturated AS w/ damage yet: the more I team w/ you guys the more I like this idea!
Agreed wholeheartedly! This idea has really opened my eyes to what team player the stalker is when teaming with himself! Really hoping we'll get a chance to do all stalker trials, all that stacked assault! o.O

Lol, some of my villains'd agree with ya on that Dechs :P No fun being a godlike villain stronger than Recluse and Statesman (I can dream, can't I? xP) without a little pet hero to toy around with every now and then!

You mean an assured un hidden critical? Or a chance?
  23. That would definitely be cool for some more variation in our character concepts

Think in total the prizes came to 6 - 800m. There was a prize of 200m for whoever could guess "What was the name of the soldier guarding Romulus Agustulus who got turned into a nictus?" right, but thankfully nobody was able to get it
Just for the heck of it, care to cast some light on that? Who was it? :3
