That last animation I've seen before <,<

But its missing the LAST PART >_<

The last part involves a small door opening. It is hilarious. >.>

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was gonna say the same thing. That animation just isn't the same without the punchline.

Ive seen that animation many, many times. But never with a little door. Now I feel like Im missing out :/

  2. Yet Another Advanced Telepad Suggestion!

How about we make an optional reward from the CoP Trial a special piece of salvage that can be crafted into an advanced telepad i.e. one that has the same power & control requirements but supports at least 4 beacons?

I think that conceptually it fits since Rulululululu (sp?) obviously has some serious dimensional hopping tech plus there are more than a few SGs out there that would like to give the CoP a try but will never be in the situation to support raiding.

Bases are 100% a DESIGN problem. Not a player problem.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Designed and costed on the assumption players would want bases for PvP while it turned out players wanted them for PvE.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Some players do want them for PvP. But now bases are over a year old and the PvP part is still not properly functioning. In fact, raiding for IoP's looks like it will never happen.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have no doubt that there are very many players that want bases for PvP I am just pretty confident they are the minority.

Designing bases primarily for PvP was a mistake. If they designed them for PvE there would be a greater take up. Then if there was the "option" of doing a bit of PvP with bases you'd find more groups dipping their toes in.

On the same lines I think its a mistake for the CoP to only have PvP reward. They should allow you to pick win something that won't force to to defend you base, maybe like rare components to craft an improved 6 zone telepad.

Maybe most players are just tired of waiting?

At the three year mark, maybe making teleporters redundant is something they should consider. You could free up all that space in the base and get a slightly cooler way of getting around. Sign me up.

The teleporters would still get plenty of use from the late subscribers. I think this could at least be considered.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't get me wrong, I am *all* for having a one-stop teleport shop, but there are several folks who would call that overpowered. Especially in Heroes, that would be one teleporter room instead of a billion, and that's probably a bit more of a bonus than they want vet rewards to be.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I disagree. It gets back to the player perceived value vs cost. The effort and annoyance involved with teleporters is too much, and I say this from the point of vew of a SG that had a telepads for all the COH zones until the recent expansion.

    Ditto.

I wonder what purpose is behind this poll? Why does the cynic in my worry that the result will be used to form another opinion that is yet again far removed from the player base?

Good ideas but personally I'd like to see the Devs develop more "social" functions for the base.

Being able to sit down at the board room table would be a start! In fact anything that allows you to interact with the base would be good.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Do you mean /em sitboardroom, or something static where you click on the chair?

Because if it's the former, I8 will make you happy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Cool. Didn't know that. Thats a start
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Bingo! That was the point of my presentation; that the cost exceeds perceived value. The current ability to customize a social space for one’s Super Group isn’t thought to be high enough to justify the Prestige amounts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can I also add that the current level of functionality is also very low. When I first described to my SG members what bases would allow us to do their reaction was "so what's the points". And that was before we knew the reality of the base costs.

Transporters to all zones is a small step in the right direction but we really need cheep, cool, social functionality.

In fact, I think it's completely safe to say that the initial implementation of Bases has been a failure, and that subsequent patches and fixes over the last six months have made great strides to revamp and redeem this feature.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think that is a fair assessment of bases as they currently stand.

If they work a bodyguard inherent I think it would have to vary by the Armor. Anyone in the tankers bodyguard radius gets the following.

    Inv: S/L def I'd go with 15% + 5% def
Stone: 10% all + Slow protection
    Fire: 10% S/L + 40% Fire
Ice: 7.5% def + Status protections

Never happen but what the hell sounds good.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep. Never happen but sounds good!
  13. As a big fan of Air Superiority I guess that explains why I've not had much trouble with losing AV aggro.

Still a stupid situation for tankers to be in and I hope it is rectified* soon.

*No Devs, "rectified" does NOT mean stopping pool powers from aggroing AVs.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
The aggro aura shouldn't make a difference as AVs are explicitly immune to it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Has that been confirmed? I saw that AVs are immune to Gauntlet but have they confirmed that they are immune to things like Invinc as well?

To be immune to Gauntlet is one thing to be immune to Invinc as well is far worse.

No comments on the gauntlet issue at the moment -- but I am reading the threads and taking notes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would like to hear the "official position" on this change. At the moment we are assuming this is an intentional stealth nerf of tankers abilities to manage AVs. I think we deserve to know the reason why. Especially as this goes against previous changes to the Tanker AT that were aimed at making Taunt optional.

This issue cannot be allowed remain as it is, the only solution to this issue is to reverse the nerf or make Taunt an inherent ability.
  16. If this is true (and I don't doubt it) you have to ask

WHAT IS THE POINT OF GAUNTLET?

It seems my tanker was better off before Gauntlet existed and my Taunt Auras still effected AVs.

Every time I think the Devs cannot do anymore to make the Tanker a complete waste of space the come along and prove me wrong.

    Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

In fixing this, the player versions of these entities were locked down as well. I do realise this impacts one of the tactics Devices players used to bypass the limitations of the set. I'll be keeping an eye on this to see if the change hampers the gameplay too severely.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is a mistake. Pure and simple. So fix it.

Unless of course having a teleport power and being able to use it has suddenly become an exploit!

I cannot describe how sick I am of this kind of thing!

I’m very happy with our new mantra, or our current mantra now – moving forward, is “Give the player what they want.”

    [/ QUOTE ]

Okay, in the spirit of this comment this is what I would like with regard to Super Group bases:

    1) The ability to sit down.
No reason why this shouldn't be limited to those lovely looking super group tables that were added recently but we really need the ability to sit down properly.

If you want to go for the "Delux" version then add some "improved" chat features like being able to have votes, hidden and public votes.

    2) Auto Side-kicked/Exemplar SG Missions.
Give that SG Mission Generator a reason to exist. Please allow it to generate random missions. BUT to separate this content from news paper missions have it so that they auto-sidekick everyone to the same level. That would be a real help to super groups.

    3) The ability to invite alts and characters that are off-line.
    No explaination required I believe.

Description: For when the new telepad beacon comes out that teleports you to an active mission, I suggest the mission computer dispense randomly generated door-missions (like the newspaper) only accessible through the telepad beacon, allowing a person to run missions without leaving the comfort of their own base. This would also give people more reason to spend time in their base.
Limitations: To avoid having the mission stuck in your mission log should you lose SG membership/access to a telepad with a mission beacon, the missions could all be timed, like the PvP door missions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think Randomly generated SG Missions should be given out by that (currently useless) Mission Computer.

I also think it would be great if SG missions could auto side-kick/exemp everyone to the same level as the mission taker. That would be really helpful for Super Groups.

I thought bases would be a lot cooler if there were a couple buildings in the zone that allowed access to them instead of the blue, glowey column. Like, an office complex/apartment building in the zones. As you get the teleport beacons, you can upgrade the building that facades the base.

Eh, I don't know. That column was just kinda a surprise.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That sums up my feelings nicely. I HATE that blue column.

If you want to go for the bonus points allow the face to be customised (where have I heard that before?)

Make floor tiles such as the white linoleum stackable so you can use them for actual flooring.

Fix the EZ Flooring so it's usable as a floor tile. Make its hit box smaller (16 feet square) so it will tile a floor, adjust its position so it aligns properly with walls (it's only a scale inch or two off), and make it stackable.

They may have to model it without much vertical relief to make it work, I'm not sure.
Limitations: May support any base item no larger than the entrance portal
