How to Tell If You Are Involved in a Nemesis Plot...
Press hard on your back upper wisdom teeth.
If your face plate suddenly pops open, you have been replaced by a Nemesis Automation.
Do not worry, someone will be along shortly to reset your memory. -
Could we add to the Info text of every reward and merit, a list of all the places they can be used or traded?
As a returning player who found Fort-Whatever-Its-Called entirely by chance, I think this would be a big help -
Surprised at all the hate. As a sometime SG leader, I like to know. If only to say "Hey xxxx you've forgotten to toggle SG mode." I guess the nay-sayers must have had some negative SG experiences.

My defenders and Master Minds would love this option. -
I believe the official response is that they don't do it because of the difficulty in ensuring the request is legitimate. This was before they had the idea of a SG Owner though.
-
My son started playing at age 7, tried a few things and settled on a Master Mind as his first real character.

Not very exciting. Anyone know the full details of the Chance of +Res?
Had there been something that effected the aggro cap or other Tank mechanic I might have been interested. Most of this I already have in my "Not very IO'd" build. -
Quote:Indeed. I am enjoying the different perspectives. However it does mean I shall probably be trying to build all the Alphas, which wasn't my intention when I started this threadI really have enjoyed this thread - thank you all for posting your experiences and observations with the higher tiers of the different alphas! Great stuff in here!

Quote:If it comes down to replacing the current base system with a new one the devs are in the unenviable position where no matter what they do some players will end up getting screwed.
Perhaps they could introduce a new Plot type and use that to control whether or not old rules or new rules were enforced.
However I only think they need to introduce "new rules" if they are attempting to re-introduce base raiding. So perhaps just a "Base Raiding" flag would be good enough.
Still, I am not getting excited. I've been away from the game for two years and everything seems different. Except bases -
Depends what your "actual solution" is for. If its for base raiding I suspect the number would be close to zero. If its for new base content like new beacons, Auction House interfaces, AE Interfaces, improved storage or any of the other much requested features I suspect the answer would be different.

Quote:I'm agreeing with you about the End reduction but can't get excited over extra resistance for my InvFor Inv/SS, take Cardiac. Not only do you get a much needed break in endurance usage, but it boosts your damage resistance.
I can see me making all the Alphas in the end -
Quote:I know what you mean. I want Afterburner but Super Speed might be easier to add to my build and probably gets me there quicker. It's not a fun conundrum, and I resent the devs a little for adding these powers the way they have, as opposed to putting them on a lower tier or making them as recipes to get with merits or Astrals or such. IMO, useless top tier powers that you didn't want was a better situation than slightly attractive top tiers that you can't take.

I have probably missed all the really big discussion threads about which Alphas are considered de rigueur for a tank, but thought I would ask anyway
My favourite character is an Inv/SS. While initially tempted by Musculature, I have assumed I am better off just running Rage more often. So I've been building up Nerve since the secondaries look most enticing. But although my build is quite END friendly I have also created a Cardiac and its effects seem more noticeable that Nerve.
So I am wondering what the Tank Gurus consider the best for different Armours?
And do you chop and change Alphas? I think for trials Nerve may be the best option but when running solo or small team, perhaps Cardiac? -
Quote:Sorry but you ARE on a level peg (to mix metaphors). You have exactly the same reward as anyone else who has played the game for the time you have. So, if it were reversed and the game had been released in the EU first, and the game wasn't released in the US till a year later, would you be happy spending extra points/money to be on a level peg with people that had played the game from Beta? Even though you, yourself had played the game from the earliest opportunity in your country?
The alternative, that EU players who where there at the EU launch should get a bonus, is unfair to US players who have been invested for the same time! -

Quote:Read this post.
Then this post.
The Devs are not unamenable to suggested NPC upgrades (they did it before with Arbiter Fabulous' Trina update). Just include the costume file info so they can cut and paste it if they chose to go with it.
Hey Devs! Competition Time! -
Quote:Currently you get powersets and some costumes for $13~ a month and some costume packs and powers you have to pay extra to acquire. This isn't life, it's a video game. A video game that currently does not give me this problem.
In the Future you get a number of points each month to spend on what you like.
This is only a bad thing if the number of points you get a month results in you receiving less new content that before. At this point no one can tell.
As to whether you like a powerset or not, well thats the same now. You only know by playing. At least with this system if it doesn't interest you don't waste a thing. In other words you have to make the same kind of decision you make when buying anything, whether its lunch, movie tickets or a new house. Seems to me you are complaining about having a choice. -
Quote:Welcome to LifeBut how will I know if I like the new powersets if I haven't played them? The ability to play anything (even if I don't want to) is better than not being able to play them even if I did want to, or having to pay for each thing individually only to find out I don't enjoy playing them.
-
Quote:I don't mean to be a damper on things, but aren't I already, as a subscriber, getting a better value than the proposed plan? Like, by a lot?
Current Plan: I pay once a month, get new power sets and costumes and places and missions for free as we update the game (barring packs here or there, or silly things like having to unlock the ability to fall over) as part of the deal.
New Plan: Pay for all new content like power sets individually, or use points which you earn from buying things, along with the VIP fee.
I hope I'm seeing this wrong, but it seems... oddly disproportionate.
Depends.
If you are cynical you are now having to use points to get buy stuff you once got for free.
If you are being optimistic you can now decide whether you want to new powersets and if you don't, you can get something you do want instead.
So I think we have to wait to see how it all comes out in the wash
I'm feeling pretty positive -
Perhaps, rather than doing away with the City Traveller reward we could persuade the Devs to make it apply to all tiers of the travel pools?
Or make it so that you qualified for the higher tier if you had two powers from the lower tier of ANY travel power pool? That would help the people that want Hover with Teleport. -
Do you have any attachments or vouchers waiting to be claimed? Isn't there a limit of 20?
