I do believe you can find stuff thats hard to do. My Inv/SS Tank is always going to have to watch whats going on when fighting a Master Illusionist. But yes, Incarnate powers will trivialise even those kind of encounters.
My intention is to set up my second build as recipe free and will try to avoid the temptation of clicking Barrier when fighting nasty Carnie bosses. Might still use Common IOs though, but maybe 45s to get the badges -
Quote:Are there any tools for testing accuracy of powers? I have had a real consistent bad run of luck with Knockout Blow, which is slotted to 100+% and I'm running a T3 Nerve.I also crafted a T3 Nerve for the more defense on iTrials but after getting the hang of them and making sure to always have saturated EA, I haven't used it since. Even more so since getting all 3 level shifts.

Every time someone mentions Star Trek and Time Travel in the same sentence, an Orion Slave Girl dies.
Dang! -

Quote:This must be the issue then. I am a recent returnee so have no experience of the trials prior to the current iXP rates. But with the current system I would happily state that its impossible to unlock an incarnate slot through the trials and not have enough incarnate salvage to craft something. Unless of course, you deliberately convert everything to iXP so the slots open really quickly.I wish I had kept the Emp/Ast merits instead of converting them for iXP, though (this was before the iXP smoothing and such).
My experience is that I have crafted the common enhancement before the slot is open. -
Congratulations. Does your fiancée also play CoH?

Quote:Can I ask how you know its tedious if you haven't even done enough to craft a alpha?Slogging through the incarnate system seems like an awful lot of rather tedious effort to me. Hence why none of my 50s have done so enough to even have a Tier 1 crafted.
I had enough shards to craft my first alpha after running through 1, maybe 2, story arcs. Then I tried my first Incarnate trial, which I found extremely confusing but enjoyable. I've done about 5 or 6 BAFs, 3 or 4 LAMs and 1 Keyes and I have now slotted each Incarnate and am 50+3. Each trial experience has been different due to the different team combination, so its a very long way from being a slog yet.
I read in these forums of people that have done 100s or trials, but these are extreme players and its not necessary unless you want all the pets and every T4. I consider myself a "casual" in that I have a far from perfect build and never even bothered with special IO recipes until the Tip system gave me an easy and enjoyable route to them. But I am quite enjoying the Incarnate Trials. Which surprised me, to be honest. Give it a try. -
Quote:Well you are in luck, since the Devs have provided this forum where you can do just that.I'm not posting this as a request for massive nerfs, as I know that's just not going to happen. The much more depressing reason I'm posting this is because things have gotten so ridiculous in game I enjoy complaining about it more than playing.
Alternatively you could unslot your incarnates and IOs and slot training enhancers. Tada! -
Well I just opened Destiny. Yay!
Slotted base level Barrier and since I haven't seen the numbers anywhere I recorded what it did to my Psi Def, for which my normal very day total is a towering 0.0%
The rates started at 108%, then 36%, 6% and finally 3%.
the 108 lasts for a second or two at most and you spend most of the 60 seconds at 3%. I didn't bother with proper timings.
I then checked my Incarnate stuff and upgraded to a level shift, 90 seconds, the one that says the numbers stay higher for longer.
This time the rates went 90%, 32.5%, 7.5% then 5%. Although its starts lower the 90% doesn't vanish straight away and you stay a reasonable time on 32.5%
Also: I am now 50+3 Yay! -

Doubt I will buy any. I only fill up on salvage, which is because its a chore to clear up.
On the other hand, if the sold recipe storage for super groups I would be slapping down the readies! -

Footstomp should do more damage if you do it from a greater height
Just saying.
Seriously though: Given the dust-trail animation from running stops when we are away from the ground I am assuming they have the "tech" to tell if we have fly turned on but are actually on the ground.
Alternatively if I can't Footstomp because I have fly turned on, then I should be unaffected by Caltrops -
Thats interesting. I have a soft spot for Carnies. I have always liked the dialogue from their story arcs and if you are playing a female toon it really comes across as them trying to recruit you. So I could see them turning up to help, a kind of mutual respect thing. Now if only we could drop the ghostly aura
Also while doing a LAM last night I noticed that the Longbow Warden can free me from being terrorised. Which is nice as thats one of the few holes in Invln's armour -

I was thinking about catching prisoners. I noticed last night that my pets were shooting them before I they were out the door. I wondered if any spammed holds or slows or anything else useful for stopping escaping prisoners.

Quote:I have always* had my power trays organised so that the bottom one was number 2, middle was number 5 and top number 8. That way all trays are 1 click away.Oh, and IMO they need to add one more thing to the trial panel, a 'You have <x> Cells/Pacification Grenades/Molecular Acids, click here to use one' button (two for Lambda, obviously). Expecting people to dig through their powers window looking for one or two temps among the hundred or so that certain character can have, whilst also trying to stay alive in a hostile environment? Not good.
Since we have had the ability have floating trays I keep tray 1 open as a floater. And because its empty all temp powers appear there. Which makes it all nice and obvious.
* Since we have been able to have three trays open anyway -
Its now clear that as you progress in rank in the Circle of Thorns you become more spiky.
To be honest I think they are a little bit ott, but they are reminiscent of the original so I am happy. Heck, nothing wrong with something being ott in a super hero game, right? -
Are any of the Pets particularly good for the trials? Or certain parts of the trails, like say catching prisoners?

Quote:More examples of why time travel should be kept away from Star Trek unless it involves a young Joan CollinsI just assumed that they rebooted Star Trek to undo the damage that Scott Bakula did with Enterprise.
Actually I liked Enterprise when it was about Blue Skins and Pink Skins and Vulcans holding Earth back. Hated it when it involved aliens we had never heard of before and time travel -
I'd give them a link to City Info Tracker
