Indeed. I am a big fan.

This weekend just gone I took my lady to the Globe Theatre and we watched Arthur playing Mephistopheles in Doctor Faustus. He, and the rest of the cast, were bloody marvelous

No, the episode stated specific reasons why it was possible in this situation, why the normal rules of "having met the later version fixed it for your time line" didn't apply. Which was the massive numbers of time lines coexisting on top of each other and the fall out from the temporal engines.

Thats like calling Canadians American. Technically the continent of America so yeah, but also so amazingly wrong.

  9. 1-5 Star rating systems was never going to work very well, as anyone that remembers the days when we could star forum users. Over time a 3 star rating is the best anyone can expect. I was always surprised I managed to keep a 3 star rating

I would much rather see a pure "rep" system, like that used by some forum software. Where you only "rep" things positively and you cannot repeat rep the same author.

I would also like to be able to personally rate reviewers. This would mean all story reviews are public and you could potentially find reviewers with tastes that closely match your own.

Some rating systems use a system or individual "credit", these typically allow you to give something a negative rating but it impacts your own. Hopefully discouraging needless pointless negative comments and completely preventing people that exist just to 1 star.

    This^

I look at Freem and see that I can do everything I did with my first 50 (some 600 hours) without spending a penny with the exception of some chat options (removed for sensible reasons). Everything else (bases, inventions etc etc) do not constitute the core game. You might feel differently if your first 50 was a controller though

I also think its good business sense to leave some things subscription only. Having subscribed long enough to have permanent Invention access and having bought more that one costume pack, if I got the Incarnate content as well then NCSoft might never get another penny from me So while I don't think a request for a one off purchase of Incarnate content is unreasonable I don't think it makes good business sense.

    O.O

I didn't know that! I've done the arc too.

You are not forced to resub. I've played my heavily IO'd characters on Beta when they were locked out and they played fine. Just create another build if its that much of a problem.

But you are saying that this is "pushing you away" which I just don't get. If you carry on paying what you pay now you will get the same and more. If you pay nothing you will still get to play. You will have gained a lot. So it does sound like you are complaining that you won't get everything you've got today for free.

All of my 50s are IOed up. So in order to play them I'd need to resub each time which sort of defeats the whole point of premium.
That makes no sense. Previously you would have had to resub, post-freedom you will have to resub to get certain features. No idea why you feel hard done by? *shrug*

Plus if you have reached tier 7 you get life time access to the Invention system as well and at 45 months I think you are on Tier 6, so not long for you to sub before that happens. What are you complaining about?
  14. *flippant comment about time loops in Oro*

I'd recommend ether petitioning a GM or just counting yourself as blessed and run it again

PS: Might be worth asking a MOD to move this out of the guides section and into Player Questions where more people will see it.

I'm on the Hero side. Infamy? WTF?
There has always been a significant lag on prestige costs and sometimes it gets its knickers in a twist. I think logging usually solves the issue. Can be a real pain when you are trying to switch between configurations though

    This is not true.

If someone reports a character for violation I believe a GM takes a look before you get generic'd. However if you make a reasonable case you can get you character reinstated. I know of two cases, one called Ms Albion (who got reinstated) and one that had "Angel" in part of his name (but was nothing like the Marvel character in appearance or origin) that did not. The difference between the two cases (as far as I can see) was that one of the players was a lawyer

    Good luck.

PS: I suspect that if you tried hard enough you could find a similar published character to almost any character!
  18. Nice ideas, particularly the buffable target.

I'm not expecting base updates any time soon though

BBC in the UK cannot show adverts, not even for their own DVDs.

I thought it was a decent episode, all pretty obvious but aimed for the younger viewer I think. Next weeks episode has me thinking of Sapphire and Steel.

The 90s movie suit didn't have scales, the rubber bunched up when he moved and I kept getting distracted by his rubber ears. So I never thought the 90s suit was very faithful at all.

  23. Assuming developer resource was not a problem I would "balance" the market by making an off line version. I would make it a game in and of itself, called something like "Wentworths Day Trader." The conceit would be that you are a special broker hired by Wentworths to look after the interests of a number of clients from a variety of different dimensions i.e. all your characters. It would track how much money you have made for Wentworths*

The idea being that you could log into a browser, access all your characters' goodies, move them around and buy and sell on the market. It would also give improved visibility of selling prices and track them over time, like a proper financial web site.

It would probably mean the end of flipping but I am sure ebil marketeers would come up with other money making schemes.

It would also mean I could play the market over lunch time at work and not during my "game time" which would be a serious win for me.

*The Blackmarket too, but we all know Wentworths runs the BM right?

Also, at some point over the last 2 years they "fixed" an apparent problem with 50s inf rates so they are earning more for the same task, twice as much I believe.
  25. Maybe if you ask some of the nice forum people like MTS they will make you a custom replacement for the map disc that will really stand out.

Personally I would not object if the Devs made a larger version an option, although it seems to be defeating the point of the things imo. And if they dis make it an option they better do it AFTER the make those stupid Mario Discs optional.
