Ahhh...thanks. I'll make sure I see the icon before logging out from now on. Hope that fixes my problem.
-
Where exactly does the icon show up for the dayjob log out points? I know there is suppose to be one, but I've never actually noticed it.
-
I am at 73.8% on the PvP zone day job badge. My issue is that I have logged out in Recluses Victory every night for the past week and I am still at 73.8%. Is there any known bug with dayjob badges? Am I correct in thinking I can log out anywhwere in a PvP zone to gain progress on this badge?

Getting to lvl 50 as quick as possible is kinda like getting to be 50 years old as fast as possible. Taking your time and enjoying your experiences on the way there is a helluva lot better than actually being there.
-
Anyone happen to know how much defense the day job accolade provides? I'm wondering if I spend the money on that 3% defense to all PvP IO, and keep the Day Job Accolade charged, if I can get my current 37.9% defense to 45.

It is insane, especially right now with certain IOs going for a billion Infamy. What else is there to do at lvl 50 though, that is better than creating a unique godly character? I wouldn't do it unless it is a character that you absolutely love. For me, DB/WP brute was the only 50 I have ever made that I was willing to make the investment. I'm hoping Claws/WP brute or Duel Pistols/? ebil blaster will be my second character that I love enough to make this investment of time and Inf.
It might not be for you if you don't enjoy messing around on Mids. I spent hours trying different things tweaking this and that to get exactly what I wanted. For me, that part is alot of fun. Once you actually accomplish your goal and have your build exactly how you want it, it feels pretty damn good. -
The whole argument about Billz sig is ridiculous. It doesn't look like anything inappropriate unless you are looking for it to be. All I see it a snip of good art.
By the way, I am cooler than all of you because I have more ooooooooo -
I have a little tidbit about closed beta.....none of us are in it.
That was just mean huh? Here's a cute picture to cheer you up.

It might be harder to build resistance than defense because everyone and thier mom debuffs defense, while resistance debuffers are somewhat rare.Just a thought.

Very nice post. I've been looking for this for awhile now, as I didn't really understand what you just explained very well. Thanks!
I have a WP brute with 37% defense to Fire/Cold/Energy/Neg Energy, and was planning on spending 600million on a PvP IO for an extra 3% defense to all. Now I'm thinking the difference between 37% and 40% isn't worth 600 million Inf. :P -
I think they need to go back to running smaller tighter closed betas. Issues 10, 11, and 12 were all great issues. It's when you get too many people in beta that nothing gets accomplished because important info is lost in the sea of chatter that fills the beta forums when you have an open beta sized crowd. A small focused group is the way to go. I think they know that.

Using a second build can work if you have a bunch of +HP set bonuses, but if your WP...your stuck taking High Pain Tolerance with your first power pick. So no matter what you do you have quite a bit of xtra HP to deal with.
Second build is a good idea though, can't believe I never thought of that :P -
If you WP your screwed. You have to get down to your original max HP before the damage counts towards the badge. It is very difficult if you have alot of extra HP. You have to find a situation where a certain mob can get you to half health...but not kill you. It's difficult, but it can be done. I think I used Nemesis for mine. You just have to find the right combination of ebemies to do the right amount of damage.
Good Luck! -
Probably Martial Arts for me, but I need to see how the new animations end up first. I don't like the all kicks set, but I wasn't very impressed with the short video I saw of the new MA animations either. Katana is right there with MA, with Broadsword following closely. Don't care about spines at all.

Just finished tweaking my main. He is a DB/WP. I had some inf building up and decided to buy a Gladiator's Armor 3% defense to all and slot it. Now, on top of my crazy amount of HP, my sick regen rate, and all my resistances, I have 40% defense to fire, cold, energy, and neg. energy. Very sick indeed. If only there was a way to increase my protection against defense debuffs....
-
I got down to -20, but then I posted in a thread asking people to give me as much negative ratings as possible so I could be the most ebil forumite eva!!.....and within 36 hours I was at +150.
The only way to get a a bigtime negative rating is to actually be a jerk to everyone...and it's not really worth all that. -
I don't really get the argument. Of course Electric needs some sort of buff to be inline with the other sets. It has been all by itself since it's introduction and does not compete with the other Brute sets. Let's break it down simple like...
Sets like Invuln, Stone Armor, and Willpower have layered mitigation using resistance, defense, and boosting max HP or self heal. This works nicley and provides the most staright forward survivability.
Super Reflexes depends entirely on defense, which is very effective in this game.
Energy Aura is mainly defense, but it;s typed and so it gets a little resistance and recently had a heal added. It also has endurance stealing powers like Electric, but grants stealth. It has alot of toys...
Speaking of toys, Dark Armor is full of them. Perhaps the trickiest set, can be the most dominating when used correctly.
Fire has weak resists, but a great heal and a damaging aura toggle.
Now look at Electric. It has no defense, no extra HP, no heals, no trickery. It has decent resistance, dmaging aura, and endurance drain powers. It is comparable to DA without the stealth, or heal. It is comparible to Fire without the heal. It is comparible to Energy Aura before it got a heal. It is obvious in my mind it needed something to bring it in line with other sets.

Quote:I grinned when I saw this post.
To begin with, DPS is commonly used on the scrapper boards for single target calculations. However, when you take a brute with good AoE and start tracking your damage output, your DPS skyrockets.
I run herostats, and here is a sample run for some proof that I'm serious about my claims. This run isn't quite 400 dps, because I was tired. As it takes about 5 minutes to load each saved hero-stats file, I'm not eager to dig around for an ideal one.
Recorded Duration: 10:28
Total Damage Output 245,474.48 (23,418.00 per minute)
That's a consistent 390.3 dps.
Ok, gotcha. I thought you were saying you did 400 DPS single target. What your explaining makes total sense now. :P -

I doubt it will make it to live exactly like this, but good news none the less. I will likely respec my lvl 24 electric brute and enjoy taking him to 50 with this type of power added.
I like the 60% reduction of endurance use and the 100% regeneration, but personally I think instead of a heal, a +max HP would fit better. A heal might end up being too much, where as extra HP with a resistance based set goes together like peanut butter and jelly. It would be more of a pre alpha power instead of an Oh S**t heal....but 100% regen boost is no joke when your getting almost 500 extra HP as well. -
Just curious, what part of issue 15 are you "just getting started on"? The TF, the 10 new faces or....oh wait, that was it.
-
Someone is playing a Claws Brute right now.....and it's not me!
-
Gotta say that not announcing that this beta would be different than others, and waiting untill the day beta starts to let people find out they can't get thier usual sneak peek at the powers/character creator......pretty bad idea. Just letting people know a few weeks ago would have softened the blow a bit. Pretty bummed out right now

Sorry to hear your bowing out Tacky. I voted for you this time and really like your stuff. Do you have a link or anything where I could see more of your work? I'd really like to do an art trade with you. Gimme a holler if your interested.
