  1. Right now Focus does less damage than Swipe in PvP, and Eviscerate and Shockwave both do much less damage in PvP as well. As is, I wouldn't waste the time making a claws Brute for PvPing. I'm still hoping these are mistakes, cause I really wanted to make a Claws Brute to PvP also.

  4. If there has been a decrease to drop rate, but it hasn't been in any patch notes or mentioned by any Devs, isn't it likely a mistake that will be corrected? Just curious if you guys are under the impression they are trying to sneek something in under the radar.

    Also, over the last three days I've played a Claws Brute from 1-25. I started out with missions spawned for 3 and worked my way up to 6 currently. I haven't done any tracking, but before I read this thread I thought drop rates had been increased. My recipes and salvage have been filling up so fast that I have to sell every 2-3 missions.

    Here are some comparison numbers between the new claws for brutes, claws for scrappers, stone melee for brutes, and dual blades for brutes. These are base numbers at 50 with managable chains that can easily be done without massive recharge bonuses. I figured in the vitals combo xtra damage for dual blades, but I have not figured in BU for stone melee, FU for claws, or BF for dual blades. I haven't figured in crits or fury either. I just don't get how to do it. Help? Other than the EPS, these numbers are pretty useless, but I was hoping someone could take these numbers and finish the comparison.


    New Claws for Brute:

    Chain: FU, Swipe, Strike, Slash, Focus

    End: 31.75
    Cast: 5.33
    Damage: 264.43

    DPS: 49.61
    EPS: 6.0


    Claws for Scrappers:

    Chain: FU, Swipe, Strike, Slash, Focus

    End: 27.18
    Cast: 5.33
    Damage: 438.9

    DPS: 82.3
    EPS: 5.1


    Stone Melee:

    Chain: Stone Fist, Stone Mallet, Stone Fist, Heavy Mallet

    Nope. That's why I went on to say I forgot about FU's damage buff and wasn't sure how to figure it in. I didn't think about including BU dmage buff for stone melee either though, untill just now when reading your post. I have the basics down, but I'm not that great with numbers.

    The endurance use has gotten better now that I have SOs and Quick Reflexes....but an endurance hog claws still takes some getting use to. I was tinkering with some numbers just to compare, and I found that the attack chain I want to use (Swipe,FU, Slash, Focus) uses almost exactlythe same amount of endurance per second as a stone melee buzz saw chain. (Stone fists, stone mallet, stone fists, Heavy Mallet) but the stone melee chain does alot more damage than the claws cahin ( 208.12 vs. 246.9)

    So I guess it's time for me to look at a new attack chain, but it just seems wrong that the chain I wanted to use cost equal endurance but does far less damage. It's crazy that claws even costs the same endurance as stone melee in the first place...


    Edit: My claws chain includes FU which would boost the dmage number. I forgot about the dmage buff. I don't think it would be enough to match the damage of stone melee, but I'm not sure how to figure that extra damage...

    Exactly...and that really sucks. I didn't mind the KB that much because after lvl 30 I'm pretty much always fighting +3 and +4s. Now I'll even be knocking those enemies back. Not cool Castle....not cool.

    Itf wtf

    Please don't go there. The lag in the 3rd mission past the bridge, and to a lesser extent in the 4th after you take out Romi......is NOT due to weak rigs. Atleast 90% of the people I've run the ITF with get the lag, and I've ran several hundred of ITFs. The people that don't have super puters are usually the ones that completely freeze up and become usless or just DC, but everyone gets it. The problem is with the mission not peoples computers.

    Also, I have a 4 gig ram and use the 8800GTS too and I get the lag. So I'm not sure how your not getting it. It's obviously not because of the size of your ram or graphics driver though.

    Finally got to 22 and slotted SOs.....so sweet. I'm gonna stop now so I don't completely ruin the fun for myslef when it goes live.

    I did just notice something I find very curious and disappointing. Many folks have asked or atleast hoped that the KB in Shockwave would be reduced to KD for the Brutes set. Well Scrapper's version is 1.45, and Brutes version is 1.87! Anyone have any idea why Brutes shockwave would get even more KB than the scarpper version?

    Before yesterdays patch, my character would run with his hands down at his sides when his claws were drawn, it looked pretty cool. Now he just does the normal run animation. Which way is it on live? (huge model)

    What level are you ?

    I keep getting DCd since this last patch, so I've dinged lvl 20 4 times now....but haven't really got to see how much quick recovery helps. I've got 3 recharge DOs in each attack which is about 70%. That gives me a pretty nonstop attack chain, which might be why I've running out of blues.

    I'm reservaing any critique untill I get SOs slotted.

    So even though I swore I wouldn't play a claws brute past 10 on test....I just dinged 20. I HAD to see how awesome Focus is on a Brute....and it is face melting cool.

    Few notes. At 20, my attack chain is FU, Swipe, Slash, Focus. I have one end reduc in each attack (DOs) and am not running toggles...and I have to stop and rest between every mob. Endurance use seems a bit heavy, but other than that they feel great.

    I have all the numbers from Brutes and Scrappers on paper in front of me, but don't feel like taking the time to post them.

    So looking at Claws for brutes numbers I see that with the exception of Follow Up, every attack has had it's recharge time lengthened, and it's endurance use increased....along with damage reduced. I undertsnad and expected the damage reduction because Scrappers have a higher damage modifier, but can someone explain the recharge and endurance use increases?


    I'm having a hard time understanding how Dual Blades are exactly the same for Brutes and Scrappers, besides the difference in damage....but Claws needed these changes for Brutes to use them. If the attacks do less damage than the Scrapper version, and I can use them less because the recharge is longer...then why does it also cost more endurance? I'm just not wrapping my head around this.

    I don't get how leaving the AE buildings as they are, but making the inside of AE an actually zone is extreme....but removing the AE buildings from all the places you named and pissing off endless people isn't.
  19. I'd love a Redname response to this also. It was said long ago that the 24 hour period would be adjusted downwards, but I don't think it ever happened. I can't explain the OPs experience, but I run the same 3 SFs every night at the same time, and constantly get half the merits cause I finish 5 minutes to fast for it to be 24hrs.

    AE Zone

    Quit changing the subject to other silly things. The idea of AE being it's own zone is a good one. I hate when people bury good ideas in nonsense filled posts that distract from the actual OP. Noone cares about the differences between farming and PLing, or how someone roleplays, or what you see out the windows...stick to the actual subject.

    Itf wtf

    I do an ITF, a 3rd respec, and a Lady Grey SF just about everynight on my main. I was doing an ITF tonight and it just dawned on me....I am amazed that I spend 40 minutes of my life playing this horrible laggy crapfest every night. Seriously, we all figured it would get fixed when it was first released, but nope. The ITF is one of the greatest TF/SF in this game, and yet it is a miserable experience because of the lag. I mean seriously, killing a computer with 12 billion HP just as massive lag makes the game play like a picture book? That;s not fun...it's borderline torture.


    All hyperbole aside, can we PLEASE get this fixed? I've heard the 3rd mission is so bad becuase of so many capes on one map. If this is the case, then please remove the capes from all enemies but the bosses. Just fix it. The fact that it has gone on this long is actually embarassing.

    AE Zone

    Great idea OP, and I'll go one step further. Leave the AE buildings where they are, but make the inside of the AE buildings into it's own CoOperative zone. They have to open up a few more floors in the building to accomdate everyone, but basicly when anyone entered the doors to an AE building in any zone, they would get a load screen and actually enter a new "zone" while inside. It would be just like entering the RWZ, but the entire zone would be inside the AE building.

    They could also ALWAYS have an AE 1, and an AE 2. That way zone 1 would likely become the "farmer" zone and zone two would just be for overflow and folks who aren't farming.
