  1. dual blades ninja run animations looks entirely different than one haned swords.
  2. I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems crashing with Nvidia cards? I ran this game at max settings for about 2 years with no problems, then about 3 months ago I started freezing up and crashing. I forget the exact message I was getting, but it said something about a loop error with the video card. I messed around with my settings, lowering a few things....and it seemed to solve the problem.

Fast forward a few months. I played a couple weeks ago during the Halloween event with no problems. Then this morning I bought the new Booster pack and logged in to check it out. Within 30 seconds of the load screen I freeze up completely. Can't close the program, can't even move my mouse. Tried entering in safe mode and it crashed before the game even opened fully.

I'm using the 191.07 driver, which I believe is the most recent. Anyone else sharing my pain? Thanks.
  3. The Ninja run looks great and I really like it for the most part. On the other hand, I REALLY hate that something this cool that I've wanted for so long was only made availabe thru a booster pack. I wish this would have been introduced into the game in a new travel pool with three other new powers. It costs waaaay to much endurance to not be able to slot it, and it turns off CJ. The biggest draw back is I want to use it IN battle. I move around alot while fighting and I want to have that style IN battle.

I'll use it, but something as cool as this could have been intoduced to the game alot better than this.
  4. It's funny, I brought up this idea as a different option for travel in a Suggestions and Ideas thread about 3 or 4 months ago. My idea was to have a travel power that had run speed faster than sprint, but slower than super speed and also had more jump boost than combat jumping but less than super jump....all in one power with new run/jump animations for the more "natural" type of characters.

This idea was met with 3 or 4 pages of trolls telling me how stupid I was was and the idea was idiotic. Well....just wanted to say HA HA BITE ME!

    Thank you.

    These will do nicely.
  6. The only thing that is stupid about it is that toggling Walk drops every other toggle. Everytime I'll consider using walk, my first thought will be "do I really feel like retoggling my 8 toggles?"

Also, just wanted to add that I hope in the future, perhaps in booster packs and/or new issues, we get some new walk animations. A monsterous ape like gait would be nice for all body types....but if we got that, I'm sure people would demand a monstorous run animation as well. I'm not sure the Devs realize how important these little things are to the player base, but maybe the size of this thread will get them to take a second look at things like selectable stance, and run/walk styles. It's one thing that CO has that I for one just love and I think it's worth the time and effort to implement it into this game.

  9. 100% specualtion....but what else are we to do for the next 6-7 months?

I seem to remember on the original questionaire that had alot of the GR stuff on it, there was something about gaining a single slot after lvl 50 that you could slot a special globle enhancment in. My money is on this. It would probably be plausible that only true villains or true heroes could slot these global enhancments. You'd likely be able to choose from things like damage buff, exrta HP, small boost to defense or resists, recharge/runspeed buff, ect. It probably wouldn't be a huge globle boost, but enough to make it worth staying true to many.

This is a pretty pimped out build, but even without spending billions of Infamy you can get enough recharge to pull off BF+Vitals fairly easy. It is a great single target chain. To answer your question about procs, I have the Mako's lethal damage proc in 3 of my attacks, but that is only because I have full Mako sets slotted for the defense bonuses. To get the best bang for your buck damage wise you wanna use taunt IOs. The Perfect Zinger: Chance for Psi Damage is great. Most things in this game are weak to Psi.

    So...DB...

So many myths and false accusations thrown around about DB. The truth is DB is a great set. I don't bother with the empower combo because it is completely useless, but Vitals and Weaken are nice, and Sweep can increase your survivability if you need that.

Most the people that say DB sucks are the ones that try to take every attack and use all the combos. Just like any melee set, if you try to take all the attacks you will be weak, but if you focus on either being a single target killer, or an AoE mob destroyer...DB is very effective at either.

I'm still working on my second build for my main. It is an AoE build. My main build is single target and it is awesome. I have a level 50 of every brute primary and most Scapper primaries as well, and I have found no other set that is as effective at single target damage. Slot for as much recharge as you can get and put damage procs in all your attacks. I solo AVs, I surprise alot of people in PvP. DB can be very, very good. Honestly, the folks that say it sucks just don't know how to use it.
  13. Looks very nice. I share some of the same concerns as other posters like cast times, and having a "plain" option that isn't so flashy....but over all it looks great.

I'm still hoping Blasters get a new secondary to go along with Dual Pistols. I plan on rolling a evil DP blaster when GR goes live, but I wish their was a Blaster secondary that gave a little more survivability instead of more damage. Even just a martial arts secondary would be great, but what if there was a natural secondary that just boosted your speed, accuracy, total HP, defense, and resistance...but the kicker is the defense and resistance toggles would have a damage debuff component to keep balance. The more toggles you have on to improve your survivability, the less damage your attacks do. Just an idea...seems like it would be fun to play with and use differently in different situations.

    Anyways...DP looks very nice.
  14. So my Brute can become a good guy and go hang out blueside and do all that content, but every 10 minutes when my salvage/recipes fill up....I have to go all the way back to the Rogue Isles to sell my stuff? Could they possible have done this worse?

I'm not saying they should or shouldn't merge the markets, but if you go rogue you should definetly be able to trade with anyone and use either market. Anything less is just ridiculous.
  15. What's the point of having three instances of GR, if all three are so lagged out they are unplayable? Keep losing connection and getting picture book, rubber banding type play. Awesome server stabilty as usual. Every event....same ol' ****.
  16. Just curious, do lvl 50 ToT baddies drop purples?
  17. JDub

    Focus

Anyone know why Focus had it's manhood clipped and stomped on in PvP? I thought maybe because it has range and that's a no no for Brutes, but look at Gloom. It totally kicks ars. Is scrapper version of Focus so completely useless is PvP? Just curious.
  18. To the OP. Virtue and Freedom are by far the most populated servers.

Virtue is known as the role playing server and most folks ((talk in parenthesis)) when "not in character" It can be annoying if your not into that sort of thing.

Freedom gets a bad rap for having the most idiots. It does. It also has the most laid back folks that are fun to team with. It is the most populated and has the most everything. During the AE farming era Freedom was a bit to much for some, including myself, but has since returned to normalcy. If you want to be able to easily find teams to do just about anything, at any time of day...Freedom is you choice.
  19. JDub

    Lrsf

I'm looking to get a Lord Recluse SF going sometime soon with my Claws Brute. No specific time or day yet. Once I get 7 more people to commit we can iron out a time and date. I definetly want an experienced mind Dominator and a Rad Corruptor. The rest of the team is wide open, though I prefer Brutes, Widows, and Corruptors.

Post here if your interested. Once we have 8 definites we'll set it up and knock it out.
  20. I'm still not convinced this "correction" was needed. I don't see how it makes sense to use a formula for all sets to keep things even...but then make exceptions and change that formula for certain sets. I see the your numbers (Billz) say that brutes have higher DPS with a sick attack chain that takes alot of recharge, but what about a normal atatck chain? I'm using FU+Swipe+Focus+Swipe+Slash, which takes a bit of recharge...but is plausible with regular SOs. I'm level 45 with 3 lvl 45 damage IOs in each attack right now, and it takes me almost a full 60 seconds to take down a +1 Freak Tank boss. Just feels weak.

I'm hoping once I slot all my sets and damage procs this guy feels alot more powerful, cause right now at lvl 45 with regular IOs....he is not very impressive IMO. Maybe they are balancing the set around Eviscerate, but I can't/won't take it till we get an alternate animation. So I guess I'm just screwed.

There are several ways to go about this. I think the easiest is to give anyone who has multiple name issues at the time the new system is initiated, a server tag. Basicly, if someone else has the same name, you'll each get the name of your original server tagged above your head. Kinda like your title or selected badge title. No new people would be aloud to use this name, but it would allow people to keep the names they have, with very minor inconvenience.

Also, people say this is a bad business decision and would kill the transfer income, but this isn't really just about people wanting to be on more populated servers anymore. This game has lost ridiculous amounts of players over the last few months. In my 4 years I've never seen it this dead. Hopefully GR will breath new life into the game, but if not....well older games have to adapt. If our new population is half of what it once was, then it is a smart decision to do something new with the server situation.
  22. I'd like a system that keeps our servers, but allows to play on any of those servers at any time with any of your characters. Basically, you'd have all your character slots on one page when you log in. After selecting what character you want to play, or creating a new character, you's move on to the server selection page. You would see the total number of people logged in to each server, and could choose accordingly. People who want to always choose their "home" server could do so with no real change to them, while those who want to choose a server with high population could choose whichever server was most populated at that point in time.

We would still have our servers, we'd just use them a bit differently.
  23. I think it's sad to look at what has become of Focus. Before the cast time change that overhauled the entire set, Focus and Eviscerate were the big hitters of the set. With that overhaul Eviscerate became the big dog while Spin became the #2, while Focus was reduced to a nice filler only slightly better than Slash.

Now with these new "correct" numbers, Focus for brutes gets reduced further. Focus and Slash now both do less damage than Chop, Smite, Stone Mallet, Pulverize, and Fire Sword...which are all tier one attacks. Really sucks for people that hate Eviscerate. I hope we get alternate animations for claws very soon.
  24. I'd just like to throw in my $.02.

This sucks. I knew it was coming, I know it is a correction to what it was suppose to be in the first place, I know the numbers say this needs to happen, but...

My Claws Brute is at lvl 36 now. I've been running with an all claws super team. We've had alot of fun, but we are FAR from over powered. My claws brute is fun, but the damage already seems lacking. Now it is going down even more. Just a bummer cause I had such high hopes and now I finally have my Claws brute, and he isn't so super.

Again, I know the numbers say this needed to happen and these new numbers are the correct numbers...I'm just saying after 36 levels of playing I don't think this needs to be corrected.
