Just because it's an MMO does NOT mean that you should have to team for your character's progression.

Showing a mag 3.0 sleep here, with 5% chance for an extra mag 1.0...

Don't like necroing threads, but I didn't spot it when it was active...
Long story short? Locking solo/small-team players out of the endgame (or making it too onerous - bad enough about the shard requirement, but if it's not possible to get a Notice a week...) might make me quit. Going to the NCSoft launcher will guarantee I leave. I know my $20 (have to use game cardsa month isn't much, but it'll go with me.

When you fully switch sides, all of your old contacts will go Inactive - but you'll immediately gain all global contacts available at your level (such as Montague Castanella, when you go Hero, who will introduce you to a level-appropriate contact during his arc; two of 'em, I think), plus any zone-specific automatics that you'd get for whichever zones you enter.
-
No good at making chains, but I'm betting that it's basically whatever you want - except for Empty Clips ('cos of its low damage compared to its 2.5s activation time; but it still has its uses since it's AoE).

Quote:And that's one of the benefits of Illusion/Force Field. He stays alive a LOT longer. Of course, that comes at the price of teammates whining at you for being a little slower at shielding them, but.. *shrug* :PThus, Illusion probably wins depending on your definition of "AoE Damage." However, until the pet bug that causes Pets to run into melee is fixed, Phanty is a bit suicidal. He is supposed to stay at range to fire off his cone and blast, but he currently tries to run into melee to get his ghosty butt killed.

That's because people aren't used to working with Resistance buffs, only Defense buffs. There is definitely differences in how you have to play since you're taking steady (though a lot less) damage instead of only being hit now and again.
-
Quote:Even though there is no logical or defensible reason for making it take any longer or making it more difficult for solo/small team players.I don't care about it taking more work in the long run, I don't care if it takes five times as long,
I highly doubt it would take more than a day's work for a competant coder to copy and paste (and then modify) the reward table code into an if(weekly_mission=this mission && start_from_crystal && team_size <= 4), adjusted for the standards of whatever language their scripts are in, of course, on a half-dozen or so select level 46-50 missions from each side. [ie, the reward table comes up instead of standard if it's the weekly target, was started from an Ouro crystal, and the team size is 4 or less to allow for those who wish to solo or run in small teams]
It would still take longer, though, via that method thanks to the shard requirement, but at least that might help appease the vocal "Suck it up and team!" crowd we have here. -
It's not lag or anything like that. It's the irritating, pulsing visuals and those godsdamned tier 2 demons that WON'T SHUT THE <BLEEP> UP. Plus pets completely obscuring the auctioneer so that you have to waste time trying to find an angle from which you can click.
-
Quote:And that means they can't take one second to click their pulsing toggle off and then click it again before re-entering he mission? For MM pets, a simple /macro Goto "petcom all goto" and then placing off to the side is no effort at all (I know I do it). For Controllers, just desummon. The recharge is fast enough that you can have a new pet when you enter the mission.Like people hopping in between missions in a TF or arc to empty their pockets.
Or
To pick up inspirations that they had left sitting there and could snag more easily then hitting the base.
Or
A quick market check.
I don't buy the excuses for not doing such simple things. It's either abject stupidity or deliberate rudeness on their part. Neither is acceptable. -
Maybe if Gun Drone was as fast and uninterruptable to summon as the Auto Turret Maltas get, then I'd use it. Until then, however, no thanks.
EDIT: Oh, and it'd need a movement speed buff as well. It was far too slow even without Inherent Swift... -
Alas, I'm too easily overwhelmed by choice and my power bars get too crowded, especially in the critical easy-to-reach 1-4 (and Alt-1-4; hate Ctrl-1-4) range, so anyone got suggestions on which Mace attacks I should leave out in order to keep it down to 6 attacks total?
(including Shield Charge and probably one non-situational epic attack, though I haven't decided on a pool yet; don't need slotting advice, but suggestions on which epic'd best complement SD/WM would be nice - though if Mace Mastery unlocks the Arachnos mace for use with my regular attacks, I'll end up being lazy and going for that. :P) -
Quote:Gun Drone does suck, yes. That's why my AR/Dev Blaster didn't take it, and doesn't miss it, when he I19 respec'd for Inherent Fitness. It shouldn't be this way - It should be a joy, an addictive experience, something that one looks forward to rather than dreads. All but for one power.
Quote:This has got to be one of the most disappointing teases in any secondary I have ever played. The fact that it comes right after Time Bomb is probably the reason I feel so cheated - an insultingly useless tier 8 power preceding an insultingly useless tier 9 is like rubbing salt in a wound. -
Probably because it's the least used, especially solo.
Location AoEs are awkward to use and position properly in the middle of combat, especially in team combat where you have little to no visibility, and especially when the AoE is so tiny (4ft radius). Does a bind like LSHIFT+LBUTTON "powexec_name Ignite" work like it does for teleports? That'd actually help a bit... (EDIT: And it does; tested it on my unused 3rd build and also found out that it *doesn't* work with MBUTTON or RBUTTON, just using the power instead of using-and-placing in those cases)
Lasts only 10 seconds with a 4s cast time (plus a couple of seconds to place it), so odds are most immobilizations/holds are going to be ending quite quickly by the time it's placed (especially if you're relying on one of your own). And when it does end, that mag 50.0 fear means the target is out of there after having taken very little damage.
Overall, not that great a power, even if the damage numbers under optimal circumstances are very good (27.8 damage per second according to City of Data?). -
My bad. :P Haven't played FF to that point (not the buffing type) in a long while (had a FF Defender back in '09 that I dumped very soon after getting it since I wasn't teaming enough), so I'd forgotten and the name made me misremember... (ie, that it was a Trip Mine/Time Bomb/Poison Gas Trap type deal)
-
Dunno why Force Bolt wouldn't, but I'd assume that Repulsion Bomb's a (pseudo-)pet and thus, like all pets, doesn't trigger Containment.
-
Damn. Now it's doing it again - downloading a 182MB update after this morning's 44MB update (though I was able to get into the game after that one). Bet it'll be followed by the 246MB fix/download.
EDIT: Hmm. Nope. No 3rd download/fix. Yay. And I see that the 182MB one's a coh.majorpatch. -
1 - Quick Strike/Hide
2 - Body Blow
4 - Kinetic Shield
6 - Assassin's Strike
8 - Smashing Blow
10 - Entropy Shield
12 - Placate
14 - Build Up
16 - Power Shield
18 - Burst
20 - Combat Jumping
22 - Hasten
...is what I'd do for those levels. Don't like Hover on my melee characters and, thanks to Ninja Run, probably wouldn't even take Super Jump unless I was stuck for filling a power choice later on. -
Beanbag's a staple. Easily the best of the Blaster stuns.
-
Yeah, got back in after the second (246 MB) fix download. Yay.
-
Yeah, Trip Mine and Time Bomb don't break stealth. Quite useful.
-
Bleh. First, had a 44MB update. Logged in, got to the server selection, but it logged me out when I tried to select any of the servers. Then a 182MB download. Now a 246MB download.... And they're coming down slow at ~150KB/s (less than 1/3rd of what I can normally sustain). Very annoying.
-
Thought we were having the publish *tomorrow*. It hit me tonight, and something's wrong with it.

Anyone else getting this?
EDIT: Just spotted the thread over in Player Questions, so ignore this. :P -
The Sleep Grenade's only a mag 3.0 sleep (so Lieutenants and under), so it'll work great for setting up Time Bomb if you play with Bosses off (definately have one SO's worth of sleep on it, though, if you don't want them waking up before the bomb goes off).
Of course, if you've got a Stealth IO and Cloaking Device, you have a 65ft stealth radius and so most Bosses and under won't be seeing you at all (the exceptions being Rulaaru eyes, Rikti Drones, and Snipers, plus a few Longbow that seem to have Tactics), making the Sleep Grenade + Time Bomb tactic fairly rare.
