  1. This is the first time I think I've ever seen people complaining about an issue coming out too soon! Whatever bugs remain can always be fixed later. Way too much awesomeness in this patch to gripe about the little things.

  2. I've always had a problem with the medical teleporters too. At the very least I'd like one zone where they don't work for some reason. What would replace them I have no idea but something that would translate into a stiffer penalty for dying.

Once upon a time there was a little game called City of Heroes & Villains then I12 came along and blew it the frak out the water and reassembled it with more awesomeness than the world had ever seen before. Really you guys got to stop with the goodies or your entire player base just might die from the sheer shock of it all.
  5. Uh can't see all the commercial videos cause the Woot studies site seems not to be able to play them correctly or even load the pages sometimes. From what I have seen though Dark Respite was robbed by an inventive but silly Rickroll. What was PERC thinking? It is good to be remined though that there is somone even more evil and creepy than Lord Recluse.
  6. Zomg! Jokes on the devs now because this would be such a cool feature to add to the options menu! The whining for it has already begun!! Seriously, I so wanted to have my goofy 60's Batman version of CoX!!!

It's kind of stupid that all these changes were at least partially motivated because players were supposedly forced to go to the Hollows to get missions when the devs know full well that all a player has to do is drop the mission from the contact that sends them there if they want to avoid the zone. Seems like they are determined to make this game so easy that it can be played by a retarded monkey.
  11. Yeah, by all means, lets have a hospital in the Hollows so the poor wittle lowbies don't get sore footsies from having to walk back from Atlas cause this is the City of wittle babies, isn't it? They's so cutesy and cuddlly wuddly! Nothing bad should ever happen to the poor wittle darlings! In fact, the Hollows is far too scary a name for such a happy place!! Let's call it Marshmallow Sunshine land!!!

  13. Lol I was just on a team of lowbies with my Kheld and two of them kept repeatedly dying by running right into the mobs in the Hollows while trying to get to the mish door. I kept telling them to go more slowly, to rest if hurt or out of end, and to try going around the mobs, etc. but only one of them ever seemed to figure it out, eventually. Sure people are stupid, but they can learn if given a good enough incentive. Keep in mind many young children play this game also so yeah sometimes the Hollows can be a much needed wake up call.
  14. OMFG! OMFG! OMFG! I'm so fraking excited about this!! Between everything coming in the next issue and being able to see the real numbers while playing, it's almost like a totally new game now.

    The VEATs seem pretty awesome to me and may be what I'm most excited about. Being an Arachnos operative might not please everyone but the same can be said of Kheldians and I and many others really enjoy them. So you can't please everyone, but I for one can't stop with the OMFG! OMFG! OMFG!

    If this is their idea of a patch with not much big stuff in it, try to imagine what's coming down the pike the rest of this year. Never thought they'd be able to top last year, but wow! Just wow!!!

    Only thing I don't like about it is the changes to the Hollows. I hope they don't make it too easy as it's my favorite zone because it really teaches you how to play this game and manage aggro. The Hollows is the best training ground we've got and I'd hate to see that invaluable crucible lost in the name of attracting more n00bies to the zone who can't be bothered to learn to play with even a modicum of caution. At the very least I hope they add some extremely difficult missions into the zone to balance it out. Leave our badlands alone or make them even more dangerous!

  17. I'm confused. Do people actually farm TFs? I've only ever seen players doing it in other missions that are much faster to restart and thus are better suited for maintaining the required padders, anchors, and bridges.

    Anyway half the TFs I've done have had all but myself and maybe one or two other die hards quit in the middle because they simply ran out of time to play. Seems like a serious burden to put on the casual player, especially hero side.

    This is the best idea I've come across in the forums to improve PvP play for everyone. I think it could be done like a modified version of the 1 out of 20 chance in D&D for a critical hit upon rolling a natural 20 (any modifiers to roll not counting) and should only apply to players firing attacks against each other that do some kind of damage. It would probably be a good idea to not apply it to critters so might even have to be confined to arena matches. You could also limit the ability of somebody to 2 or 3 shot opponents by having the reverse effect of a 1 out of 20 chance to for a catastrophic miss that actually does some damage to the attacker.

    Anyway however the mechanics of it could be done I think PvP should have elements of random chance involved to make it more fun and not just always be about who can build the better toon or even about who has the better tactical skills.
  22. Great guide and much needed for N00Bs like me! I'm planning on taking Tough, Weave, and Maneuvers instead of the passives on my Invuln scrapper if I can manage to keep the endurance costs within reason. Even without the extra toggles Conserve Power from the Body Mastery ancillary pool seems like a must have to me.

    I couldn't agree more but the devs sure have their minds made up about that one so it = dead horse. I wonder though since they don't like the ghost hover if there is any possibility that they could come up with a new animation for hover that would be vertical?
  24. Superman is hardly an example of a balanced character. If it weren't for Kryptonite he'd be completely unstoppable and god-like. Besides last time I checked everyone on the PvP boards was complaining that hero teams are much stronger than villain ones due to the ability of being able to stack Clear Mind or like powers making Dominators worthless in PvP. I suspect pleasing everyone in a game like this is nearly impossible.

    I'm more interested in how this real numbers stuff will affect all those great character builder programs out there like Mids' . Seems like a shame that all that effort on the part of fans being wasted now that the devs have finally caught up to what the players want in this regard.
