Other way around, resist lowers the damage, defence is like a dodge.
I wouldn't bother slotting the resist - S/L defence (very common damage types) is better than the Fire/Cold resist (cold is very uncommon, fire, uncommon-ish). -
You can quite easily just live with Neutrino Bolt - it's fast recharge and animation time means it chains quite nicely on its own.

Hell, going on that alone, I'd forget about x-ray beam, chaining the two doesn't add a great deal. However x-ray beam is GREEN LASER EYES and therefore has a huge cool factor - many enemies will find you too cool for school and simply give up and die rather than face you.

Hey, that's not such a bad idea! You might find it a little hard controlling where you end up, since SJ is pretty fast and goes very high - you could easily end up out of range. Nice idea tho, worth a try! I might even respec one of my guys to it!

Energy, by a long way - toggle dropping attacks with very high damage and quick animations. Add to that buildup and powerboost, just the icing on the cake.

Looks good, but I'd forget about punch - Air Superiority is much better, it has the same damage, recharge, end cost (maybe bit cheaper?), but with higher change to knockdown.

Unslotted it should increase HP by 40% of the casters total, just like dull pain and the other powers like it

I've started yet another character, Claws/SR. What claws powers are good, what are ones to avoid? I've heard things that conflict with the info I've got on the hero planner about animation times and whatnot, so any help would be appreciated.

In mass PvP, MMs are very very good! The general confusion means people won't be running away from you as much as in one on one PvP.
Just try not to get killed and let the pets do their thing! -

Sonic Siphon, Sonic Cage, Clarity and Liquify are all things you'd use in combat though.

Irradiator doesn't know how old he is, he lost his memory and has very damaged skin from acute radiation poisoning. He feels old tho
Haz-Mat, my corruptor is a 30ish family man, just trying to make enough money as a hired henchman for some supervillain so he can retire.
N-Forcer, my Warshade, is about 25. Well, his host is anyway.
Ankou, another corruptor is about 500 years old, while the spirit possesing him is much older.
I've got a crapload more characters too, but those ones spring to mind fot this topic -
Ouch, 2 attacks up until 26, I wouldn't want to do that one without respecing to it at some high level!
If you do ever want to go to the lower level PvP zones it might be worth shuffling some of the attacks in earlier. -
Hell, any experience on the cold set would be good.
On paper it looks really solid, I have to say - really heavy on the slows and debuffs, with some nice shields and a kinda heal thing. -

They melt away when they're conning purple too :P -
Take all henchmen and upgrades as soon as you can, everthing else is extras.
Slot henchmen with 2/3 acc and 3 damage. Protector bots can have different slotting - I've gone for 2acc 2dam 2disorient, but that's only useful when you get to 32.
The fist upgrade power is good right out of the bag - put a recharge or end reducer in it.
The 32 upgrade has a long recharge, so 3 recharge reducers should be in it. -
Good idea, except for the nightmares I'd get from them. Akira made toys a very scrray thing.
They'd possibly be worse then clowns. -
Well, I've just recently got my Ice/Dark up to the level where you get Freeze Ray. It's much much more fun than the Ice/Ice Dominator I started, but then I tend to prefer characters that have a lot of tricks up their sleeves. Ice/Dark has them apenty! Possibly more fun than my 32 Robotics/FF MM

I went for dark matter detonation cos it looks a lot like the nova form blast - similar damage and all that, so it can't be all bad, besides, it's another handy blast to have while in human form.
Is unchain essence really as powerful as the nuke? The Hero Builder has some dodgy info on some of the WS powers. If you then I'll certainly be adding recharge to it -
Not an easy thing to do, coming up with this - Warshades have so many tricks at their disposal!
This build starts off as a Nova, then when Gravity Well and Black Dwarf become availaible, human and dwarf forms will see more time.
