Thanks for the warm welcome back. Unforunately the wife is iced in also and so far she hasn't left me alone at all. If she quits naggin' me I will get back to the existing list for sketches today.

if she sees that comment... you are so screwed, lol

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Is that good or bad?
  2. Did I not already ask for one of these wonderful creations? Oh, how doth the darkness encroach upon me!

If at all possible, I'd love a dual pic featuring the two halves of my latest obsession, Monster Child.

I think -- think -- that somewhere in the city there exists one of those height charts by a doorway, like you see in convenience stores. I can't recall where, or if I'm just imagining it or not. Might actually be in one of the stores.

Other than that, there's also the red-and-white antennae in various places. Standing near that should give a fair approximation of height. (I thought about using that for MC, but decided to stick him on the statue's hand in Perez so he was distinct from the background; the wings kept blending in to other stuff.)

Tommi Gunn is done. I did something a little different with this one. Hope you don't mind

  8. Holy frijoles that rocks my socks. I love the printed circuit detail in the costume's trim -- is that part of your concept or his addition?
  9. I am kicking myself for not thinking of the name "General Anesthetic!" Man, that's good!

    Nice wallpapers, too.
  10. I think it would probably be easier just to do a demorecord and then Fraps that, if he wanted to just film in-game video. See Zloth's guide and demoeditor for more.
  11. I like the pose a lot, as if he's putting on a show for the camera.

We have a lot of "Obey the Pug" stuff in our house, and those whimsical posters might be good inspiation for you. One moment, please....

    Ah, here it is.
Here's the main web page: Obey the Pure Breed.
  12. I'm going to be brutally honest, here.

It's dull. All you've done is filmed a couple GM encounters and put music to it, cliched music at that. We can't see anything that's going on because of YouTube's compression and because you've chosen to keep the camera zoomed out. At one point the camera is stuck behind a tree, obscuring the action!

What you've essentially got here is a proof-of-concept. Okay, so you now know how to use the equipment -- make a real movie with it. That means working out a story. And using varied shots: long shots, medium shots, close-ups, tracking shots, trucking shots, pans, zooms. All the things you see in a regular film.

People have done that with the CoH engine, so you can do it, too. But my advice to you is to keep practicing, and until you're as good as some of the ones we've seen before, you should probably keep them to yourself. Don't just throw everything you do on the internet, because it looks like a kid's finger paints stuck on mom's fridge.

I'm sorry if that comes across as overly harsh, but I watched the premiere of American Idol last night and the spirit has moved me. Sometimes people need to step back and appraise their work objectively.

I haven't been able to get demo dump to work correctly. All I get are unfinished images. Probably a memory problem, but it's a bummer.

Marcio is an artist I stumbled upon thanks to the wonders of deviantART (Check out his profile here). I have become memorized

Have you mesmerized every line? Hee-hee!

with Marcio's almost-pastel, cartoony style. It's got a quirkiness all its own, and I am grateful to have had him take a crack at the Old Man.

I got my completed piece delivered to my inbox tonight and this is all I can say:

    omg.

Check out his deviantART posting of the work.

I hope you enjoy it almost as much as I do!

    [/ QUOTE ]

It looks... what's the word? Oh yeah: Sweet! It's kind of a combination of Invincible and Disney's Hercules.

I'm glad you guys like it, I can't believe it's finally done!

Here's the animated gif version. The pencil and inked process has already been done, so here's the coloring.

What a great use of the star-on-star emblem!! Nice concept.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks! This is actually one of my more ambitious concepts -- read on:

So I got Monster Child up to 20 last night. (My thanks to the Virtue-ites who ran the Faultline missions with me to get him over the hump. Take that, Nocturne! And your little sub, too!) The sole purpose was to get the second costume slot, of course. MC was designed with the concept of two versions of the same character who are different sizes, like the Hulk or the Wasp.

And it worked! Making max use of the sliders, the demon version of Monster Child (the one whose power Darren has harnessed by allowing it to selectively possess him) is nearly a head taller, even without the horns and wings.

Monster Child: Darren Childe and Vulgara the Demon.

To whichever designer/programmer/dev put the body sliders in: love 'em!

    Hmmm, limited edition posters.....

I will definitely look into it, but now, you all can have a 1600x900 desktop, with other sizes on the way!

    The Big Group Pic!

Oh, yeah, have to work on the final key and other stuff I've promised to those folks who got a commission last year!

    Love.
