Not fore! Fahr! Lack it's all hotted up, lack to barn yoo! Barn yoo real dang bad, way a fahr will do.

I like the fact that you have nemeses of your heroes; I do that, too. It gives me something to unspool in my mind as I'm running through missions. "This will foil him! Bwa-hahaha!"

This is Heimdal. He's my Villain main Sm/Elec Brute.
Here is a clearer pic of him.
I steered away from the horns and went more "god-y" with the head treatment. Enjoy!

That first screenshot is hands down one of the coolest character screenies I've seen. He looks like an angry thunderstorm approaching, about to get to hurtin' folks. -
I think you have some of the best three-color costume designs I've seen. Really excellent.
I see they all visit the same designer-slash-tailor, who really likes that Sharp pattern. -
Interesting twist on Christian mythology. Christ with a sword is a new one. You do have a few spelling errors, though.
Did you cut and paste this from the game? -
Well, go with the metal hat and horns, to start. Definitely a beard.
Hmm, actually, my dwarf guy Ironthews (see sig) is similar, although he uses old costume parts. -

Awww. Gitchy-gitchy-goo! Who's a cute l'il fella? Huh? Who's cute?
Grawr! >snap<
Hey! Why you little-! -

Dark Ether bringing the meat and working the grill!
And also a pick-up game of touch football.

Dark Ether has caught the winning touchdown! Yay! But he's accidentally stomped through Ironik's bocce court! Oh noes!
Ironik Crane Kicks Dark Ether to the head! Dark Ether flies through the air and lands in the banana pudding! Everyone laughs at Dark Ether! Dark Ether, boiling mad, launches into a counter-attack, banana pudding flying everywhere! Everyone nearby gets covered!
Gah! Food fight! -

No. It's still creepy. How do we know that he didn't just say that to the devs for his bio writeup and he's really just a stalker (a villain stalker?) in disguise?! Huh?
I mean - all he DOES is stand there in his little yellow circle, right? When is he out getting flattering pictures of ANYTHING?!
*cough*
[/ QUOTE ]
What makes you think he just stands there all the time? Just because he's there when you see him doesn't mean that's the only thing he does. Sheesh, the ego you have... thinking contacts just stand around all the time when you're not around, waiting for you to come back. -

To be honest, I have your demoedit and playback stuff, Zloth, but it is rather complicated for me, as I have no background in programming, video, or anything. I saw some really cool videos made by others, and decided to learn. that was just step one. I promise it only get better from here.
IMHO, posting these videos for critique is the best way to improve. I lean (heavily) on the wisdom and experience of others right now.

Mercy, here's what they do the first day of film school: they show you a movie clip and say, "Watch this carefully." Then they ask you, "How many cuts were in that scene?" No one ever gets that answer right, because you generally don't notice the edits of a film. Once you start paying attention to that, you'll be amazed at how many times the perspective changes.
Check out how many cuts are in this simple scene, for instance. (Plus it's funny as hell.)
That's a huge part of making an engaging film -- variety of shots. The point of any single shot is to convey information. Because of the lack of expression on the CoH sprites, close-ups are mainly used for variety. But even a cutaway to a blank face can improve the emotional impact of a scene. -

I guess I'm wondering more about what technique people use. Do they use a filter or paint. I'd love to get a tablet. It's on my wishlist.

If I had to do dust and smoke? I'd probably outline the area, and then fill with a 50% (give or take) opacity of the color of choice, and then apply second layers of the same opacity with the paintbrush to create depth in the cloud.
(Although, let's be honest, I'm lazy as hell so I'd probably avoid doing a piece -with- dust or smoke to begin with, but that's what I'd do if I went crazy and made one)

GIMP is freeware that does many of the same things, AFAIK...I've never used it so I can't tell you for certain.

All the digital stuff in my gallery is GIMP and mousework. Best I can tell, it's the poor man's photoshop without so much clutter. *shrug*

Not to hijack the thread, but that latest pic you did (Goju Mariko) is astonishing. For me, you've surpassed even the cool simplicity that was Pandora Xavier. Excellent job! -

Yeah, that helps. Me am bad with speeling and gramur. Hukt on fonix wurkt for me.

It needs more fixing, but the bones are solid. (Although sentences like this: "One day as Mikel neared the age for his Rite of Passage, when a young man begins the path to becoming a true warrior," cause me cognitive dissonance because it's a dangling phrase.)
I'd like to see the soulmate play a bigger role in tempering his wrath to drive that point home and you can't technically banish yourself, but overall it's pretty good. It does conflict with established mythology, but in cases like these I just assume that it takes place in an alternate universe where the story turns out differently. -

Assuming every art forum regular's main character got together for a BBQ party...who would be the one to bring potato salad,
[/ QUOTE ]
My only level 50, Photon X, is an android, so he doesn't eat or drink. He'd likely cook the hot dogs and hamburgers over Memphis Bill's fire... after MB blew up the grill.
Cuke Nukem would bring the salad... and then start making out with Turbo_Ski.
Ironik would bring canoli... and his bocce set.
Slaughtermouse would bring a wheel of cheese... then get into a fight with anyone who tried to eat it.
Tsuba Inu would bring spring rolls... and raw meat.

what kind of meat do catgirls like,

Tube steak.
What? -
Theoretically -- I say that because I can't quite get thefeature to work correctly for me, but others use it successfully -- Zloth's Demoeditor will dump a bunch of screenshots to a file and you can then just stitch them together in Windows Movie Maker. Probably a bit more labor-intensive, but it's similar to animation in that you have total control over the exact frames.

Yes. He chose his superhero name at a Japanese restaurant.

Food-based heroes for the win! I have a guy named Cuke Nukem. Before I changed his bio to something a little more serious, he originally got his powers by eating an irradiated salad. -

Double post ahead...
That's a good choice of song. My only real issue is that it doesn't seem thematically tied together, just sort of random outdoor shots. In which case, I'd like to see the highlights from all of City of Villains. Especially since I can't really play that side of the game, what with the lag and all.
Show me the goods!
(Value-added sentence added above. Imports always have extra stuff.) -

Nicely done. I particularly like Issue 4, especially with what you did with the logo. The Owl's Shadow (8) and Penny Tuesday (3) screenshots are very good.
I'm not too crazy about the font for the logo, though, probably because it's been used a lot. Seems like modern wayward meta-teens would have something a little more graffiti-like. That's just me armchair art designing, of course, so feel free to ignore it. -
She looks sad. Is it because it's the same map she's been seeing for 3 years?
-
Very nice.
I've been planning a similar film for a while, using that kind of music. The coolness of this proves that my idea has merit.
