  1. From my Gaelic and Garlic heart: slĂ inte and salute!
  2. This and the Art (now Multi-Media) forums have long been my favorites. And that's because of folks like you guys. get in and mix it up, share stuff we wouldn't otherwise hear about, talk about books and movies and TV shows and comics and everything else that makes life worth living.

And here's to those of us who have fallen along the way who brought light and laughter into our lives while they were here.

    ...

    Fusionette.

I actually like Fusionette too. Probably because my first 50 was an Energy/Energy Blaster and I was CONSTANTLY apologizing to my teammates for knocking bad guys into next week, so fair is fair. Also, I know how to work with KB, having spent so much time doing so. I actually thoroughly enjoyed those Faultline missions and sought them out as soon as a character got to that level.

Ultimately I created a character that shared her backstory as part of the Nuclear 90. (He's also an homage to another favorite character from my youth, but most people don't get it.)

  4. I'll probably go back to my first pastime: fighting hobos in the park for government cheese.
  5. Yeah, mine can't possibly be accurate. I don't actually play that many hours per week. Plus I've made more than 700 characters.

To put it in perspective, a year's worth of 40-hour work weeks equals 2,080 hours. For me to have played Tommi Gunn 4,573 hours is the equivalent of working a regular job for two years and two weeks. Other than during the game's early days when I would literally fall asleep at the keyboard, I doubt I've averaged more than 8-10 hours a week of playtime. And due to being unsubbed for long periods of time, I've actually only played for about 5 years cumulatively.

    Epilogue

Fly high, fly fast, hit hard.
  7. The classics never go out of style.
  8. A last one before we go, celebrating the genius that is you.

I just ran into this guy a few days ago (before the bad news) and found he had the single best collection of titles I've ever seen. Kudos, SF!

  9. Here's hoping we see you in the next big thing.

As far as those future plans go, can you divulge some of them? To quote the Vapors' song "Bunkers":

I went down the road to see the end of the movie
Cus I really like the part where the heroine dies
She takes away so many million secrets
But she tells just a few before she closes her eyes

...just a few? Don't leave us hangin' bro.
  10. No one here hates you.

Especially if you give us the demorecord secrets!

    That's a good one, too.

Also the beans. Beans and eggs.

I really want to know about where the story was going and what plans were on the drawing board for new designs we hadn't heard of yet. Lore and superpants are the two I'm most interested in.

But the eggs are good, too.

I like DCUO's look, but the chat system leaves a lot to be desired, however the world is very populated giving it an occupied feel that I can enjoy.

I'm just not a fan of fantasy MMO's. I play DDO because RL friends do. But it just doesn't capture my imagination.
My main beef with DCUO was that it didn't understand what a hero was and simply crossed out "Paladin" and wrote in "Superhero." Having to buy things and deal with item degradation and the boringly obvious static world simply overwhelmed the cool travel powers and awesome locations. I admit that I was stunned and thrilled when I got to the space station, but the gameplay just didn't do it for me.
  13. Okay, now I'm wondering if these are accurate. I can't possibly have played her this long, could I?

  14. Okay, I have to say that I am STUNNED by this. Seriously. I mean, my first 50 only has 990 hours and I often used him as an Influence generator.

This guy I thought I had played a lot, but apparently not. He roared up to 50 and was my go-to for big Virtue events.

  15. I doubt I have any character who has a tremendous amount of hours. I'll check, but it's not going to be huge, probably.

However, I have made 727 characters in this game. Maybe some of you served longer, but I brought an ARMY.
  16. I hate that. I love that.
  17. As someone who currently has 6 dogs and was greeted by a German Shepherd when he was born, this picture is killing me. I've lost so many pets -- who were my friends, my family -- over the years that this is dirty stinkin' pool.

    Not Goodbye

    Cheers.

Not enough for zombie vomit, but cheers nonetheless.
  19. Awesome. Sorry I missed that.
  20. Did you post a picture your sister did of one of your toons? Watercolor-ish, maybe? If that's the one I'm thinking of, she is quite talented.
  21. THAT'S what is was! Thanks. I kept forgetting the dang space.
  22. I would suggest going to Deviant Art and poking through the City of Heroes gallery. We've had a lot of professional and semi-pro artists play the game, from industry heavyweights like Doug Shuler to gifted artists like Celtic Bolt who do it as a side job but are in danger of going pro any minute, and of course the awesome ImagesbyAlex. Just a few of the many, many talented artists who've done CoH-related work.

Also, find TA on DA and see the stuff he's bought. He's the king of commissions.
  23. I'd buy this. You know I would.

I counted my alts this afternoon: 727.

    I'd probably buy this twice.
