No, no one can give any concrete evidence on either side. However, we have had multiple second hand reports of Paragon personnel saying that the game was profitable and no one in a position of responsibility saying that it was not. With that being the only information available, I figure it probably was showing a profit.
  2. Woo hoo! Now it's time for my least favorite task force!

    Requires 6 to start.

(shrug) I think they'll come back (the players). As for the devs, we had very few of the original personnel. Staff turnover isn't a huge big deal.

Complete nonsense. The game was successful and the decision was made to shut it down regardless. So if it continues to succeed, it doesn't make anyone at NCSoft look bad. They CHOSE to ditch the game. How is that 'letting it get away'?

What *ARE* you blathering on about? Yes, it was a business decision, made for business reasons. Firstly, what does "fair" have to do with it? Fairness is completely irrelevant to the discussion. A decision was made by a business and some people don't like it. It's just that simple.

If Joe's Chips change the taste of their potato chips and I don't like it, I buy a different brand. To talk about fairness is nonsensical. To say that we can't complain and/or take action in response to a business decision is also nonsense. It doesn't matter if they made the decision for sound business reasons, or because the CEO was cranky that day.

tl;dr version: Demorecord your base and you can do a tour of it any time you want, forever.

    This thread has details.

Well, you see, I could run it in under 2 hours with Ironblade. Now, 66 merits in a bit under two hours doesn't sound too impressive. But then you consider that I used my other account to anchor the TF, so it's really 132 merits in under 2 hours. Bazing!
  12. Ironblade

    Refunds?

Got mine. $65.12 on one account and $59.96 on the other. That's only $6 off from what I estimated without looking up the exact dates. Good enough for me.

So...... with a little 'mental accounting', that means I have about $125 lying around to spend on games.

orly? I've only run the first part 33 times and the second part 30 times.

FYI, I ran the original Posi 45 times. Most of those were solo runs for the Reward Merits.

I don't think so. The decision to shut the game down has resulted in more publicity than the game ever had. If the game is saved, every news outlet that had a doom story will do a follow-up about how the game was saved by the players. This will be huge news (if it happens). Not only will it bring back most of those who have left, it will get the attention of new players who will think, "What makes this game so special? I need to check it out."
  16. hmm... I saw the thread title and thought it was about the upcoming bacon shortage.
    (Which is also a myth.)

Seriously? You only just now figured this out? NCSoft is a BUSINESS. They have a responsibility to the shareholders to make money. Everything else is secondary.

I don't care if you plan to vote for Romney or Obama, either.
  20. My estimate is no.

But I need to state the difference between EXPECTATION and HOPE. I don't EXPECT the game to be saved. I think the odds of it being saved are less than 50%. HOWEVER, I also think the odds are way better than zero. So I continue to have HOPE that the game will be saved and continue to participate in efforts to save it.

I will also continue to tell off the internet loudmouths who state authoritatively that there is no chance of the game being saved. When they say things like that, they don't give us any information about the future of the game. The only information they give us is that they are fools.

Too bad. Some people have made posts suggesting courses of action that were honestly and truly STUPID. If they choose to bring their ideas to a public forum, people are free to chime in that they think an idea is a bad one.

Wait, you actually refer to a character as your "main badger" but he doesn't have the red exploration badges?!?

P.S. I'll be there. I'll probably bring Doctor A Noobsauce, beam/traps corr. I'll have to see how long part 1 takes. Might not be able to stay for part 2.
