  1. ....and unlocked Ernesto Hess last night.
  2. Charming story. I guess it might sound reasonable to a compulsive hoarder. IPs get sold off all the time.
  3. I'm in, with Doctor A Noobsauce (beam/traps corr).
At least you'll have one hero with 'Doctor' in their name. Yes, I went there!

Of course. And when you post something stupid in a public forum, we'll feel free to comment on it.
  5. I'm guessing that looking like an idiot in one forum wasn't enough. How many sections did he post that in?
  6. It shouldn't be too hard to find 4 people. I just ran this. Someone wanted the badges, I joined, he found another and I got someone off my global list. We got all 10 badges in one run.

And I got my first knockdown proc out of like 30 runs!
  7. Okey doke, just unlocked Katie Hannon as a contact on my defender.
Since this TF is relatively short, we may also do the Ernesto Hess TF after it, if there is interest. I'll make sure to unlock him also.

Well, it CAN mean that. It can also mean posting some PR fluff to get people to shut up. We don't actually know that they exhausted *ANY* options - that they tried at all.

This is exactly the point I made in another thread a while back. While I do not EXPECT the game to be saved, I believe it is possible and HOPE that it happens. In numeric terms, I think the odds of the game being saved are less than 50%, but well above 0.

True, but we can change reality by taking actions. That's how the world works.

Seriously? With all the crime and disasters? I think a better question would be, "If you were FORCED to live in CoH, and had no other option, where would you live?"

Probably in Steel Canyon, as close to Blyde Square as possible. When bad stuff started, I'd make a dash for the base portal and wait it out inside my base.

Yes/no. Yes, I would be interested in a successor to this game.

No, I would not be interested in a new superhero MMO. I would always be comparing it to this game. If this game is not saved, I will move to a completely different genre; probably fantasy.

I believe most of their money comes from players in 'internet cafes' (they don't call them that) in Asia. If every CoH player boycotted every NCSoft product for the rest of their lives, I question whether the impact would even be measurable.

Bad publicity, on the other hand, might be more noticeable. Maybe.

So are the doom and gloom posts. Realistically, ANYTHING we've heard a few times is already 'old'.

I dunno. I think that, from a BUSINESS standpoint, there will never be a better time than now. The main reason a lot of people mention for them not selling it is 'saving face', which isn't a business reason at all.

If they can hold on to it and use it later in the future and know that the players probably will be running back,
Despite their actions so far, I really don't think they're THAT stupid. So many people have been expressing their undying hatred for NCSoft. Once they've moved on to another game, I really don't think they'll come back to CoH as long as NCSoft is involved in any way.

Or maybe they are holding on to it because they may be actually planning on using the IP in the future, or parts of it.
Now that would certainly make sense. However, it really does look like they are ditching the Western Hemisphere

hmm.... no. Perhaps that's how you would react to such a situation. Not me. Accordingly, I will keep hoping.

    From ParagonWiki:

Brian was the executive producer of the "City of" franchise with NCsoft since the game's inception, and became General Manager of the new NorCal studio once the "City of" IP was fully acquired by NCsoft in 2009."

Either you're deliberately spouting BS or you have no clue. The *GOAL* was to raise $1000 within a few days. That $1000 figure was reached in about 3 hours, before the staff at Titan Networks even had time to get the web tracking update working and they had to shut it down to avoid overshooting by too much.

So, the success of that effort was amazing, rather than some sort of disappointment.

I am in the business of software. I didn't say it was trivial. I said it wasn't a huge big deal. There's a bit of range between those two extremes.
