Great deal. Wish I did it.*
*To clarify: I already bought all the packs before this was available. It's a good money saver.

Bought my two copies off Amazon a few weeks ago.

If ONLY I would have had the money to IO out my scrapper. I IO'd out my brute for CHEEAAAP. I'm talking under 500 mill for everything non purple 'sides 2 LOTG's I still need.
[/ QUOTE ]
Back in the days when we had to walk to WW uphill in the snow, I IO'ed (no purples, no uniques) my empathy defender for under 30 million. I was astonished how cheap and easy it was, mostly due to the apparent cluelessness of others.
I got a lvl 50 Miracle:Heal recipe as a drop. Well, I exemp alot so I don't want level 50 IO's. I want my set bonuses down to at least level 35. I put the lvl 50 recipe on the market and it sold for 5 million. With that 5 million, I was able to buy FIVE RECIPES from the Miracle set (including the Heal one) around level 30 *AND* all the needed salvage. I was flabbergasted.
Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway for anyone new to the markets), when I was making my purchases, I was flexible about what level to buy and was willing to wait several days or a week for my bids to go through. I don't play the 'buy it nao' game.
IO'ing a toon for under 30 million..... now THAT'S cheap.
P.S. My goal was increased recovery in place of Stamina. I got +34% recovery with no uniques or purples, plus global recharge, global accuracy and global heal bonus. -
Oops, that's right. The figure on the SG info screen is the amount available to spend. It's the figure at the SG Registrar that represents the total including base value. Must be lag in my brain...

You shouldn't need more power slots, really. If you have survivability problems with that much mitigation, something else is wrong.
[/ QUOTE ]
My migration is fine against most foes. But when meeting fireclowns or ice zombies or necromancer elves and whatever else there is in the AE, I go down.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, we understood you're fine against most foes, but you STILL shouldn't be dying that fast against other stuff. I played my invuln tank in the Mother Mayhem mission with every enemy using psi damage and the only time I even came close to dying was against the AV herself.
As for where you can free up slots to take more attacks: most invulns take Resist Elements and Resist Energy after level 40 or, very often, skip them completely. -
Have you previously added anything to your base? The figure on the SG page indicates TOTAL prestige, including the value of anything installed in your base. The figure on the editing screen indicates your 'balance available to spend'.

If anything, I use it for screenshots.

This. It was also useful when emotes didn't put away your weapons; you could pistol-whip people with it. -

I saw a post just earlier today claiming that all Defenders will be replaced by Corruptors and all Tankers by Brutes. Now you're saying the opposite.
[/ QUOTE ]
They're all on the way out. I have it on good authority that there will be a new AT called Tankmage......
What? -
We KNOW it can happen at any time. We're acknowledging that, but also asking if it's POSSIBLE to get advance warning in situations where they know, WELL IN ADVANCE, that there will be maintenance. Not an outrageous request, I would think.
-
You may be running into arcs that were invalidated by yesterday's patch. To confirm: after you click that accept button, the contact hologram does NOT turn into a contact character and, if you go over and click on it, it says you have no mission available, right? If so, yeah, that's an invalid arc.
-
Firstly, that 10-day activity requirement is kind of obnoxious. I bet that has cost you some potential members. We have NO activity requirement. Once you're in, you always have a *HOME*. We're not herding cattle. The only time we kick for 'inactivity' is when we're full and want to add someone new.
Second, having X number of people in the SG online at once isn't necessarily your goal. My SG has our own global channel and all members (and some non-members) are on it. We might have 3-4 people *online in the SG* but 15 or 20 *on the channel*. You're recruiting PLAYERS, not specific characters. When we have SG events, people can bring any character they want. They don't need to bring the toon that happens to be in this particular SG.
How are you recruiting? If you're broadcasting or posting on the forums, I don't think people take that seriously. If there is no entry requirement beyond "Invite me?" "You're in.", people don't feel they're committing to anything. They may decide your base isn't big enough or the SG name isn't cool enough and leave. After all, what holds them there? At that point, they don't know anyone.
We don't specifically 'recruit'. If we meet someone in-game AND they don't have an SG AND they're fun to play with, THEN we'll try to recruit them. At this point, you've gotten to know them and have become friends (at least to some extent). True, this means we add members very slowly. But it also means that they are likely to stick around for a hell of a long time. I don't recall if we've ever had 20 online at once, but if we got 12 to show up for a *SHARD* TF, we must be doing something right.
As for specific things to do to increase activity. Schedule stuff. If people log on at a random time and see two people on, it doesn't make an impression. If they log on for something planned and see a dozen or more, they'll take notice. You need to have the players get to know each other. Once that happens, they'll start to make plans to team even when nothing is scheduled. If you get multiple SG members on a team and a new player sees them playing together, it tells them it's an active SG. This helps you find new members. You need to work hard to get this sort of thing started but, once you do, it builds on itself. -

1.Stone
2.WP
3.Inv. (although only edged out by WP barely)
4.Dark
4.Ice
(-Yes that's two '4's' I rate them so close, it's a tie for me)
6.Shields
7.Fire
[/ QUOTE ]
Sounds good. Excluding WP and Dark (because I don't have any experience with them), I'd rank the remaining ones in that order.
[ QUOTE ]
*This is without Tough/Weave added since adding Tough and weave improves all the same.
[/ QUOTE ]
It improves them by the same NUMBERS but the actual effect will vary. Adding Weave to a fire tank will not have the same impact on survivability as adding it to an ice tank.
As for IO'ing, I don't know if I would shift rankings around. If you use IO's wisely, they have a huge impact on any tank. I have an invuln with Tough and Aid Self. After I IO'ed him, I never used Aid Self again except when tanking Lord Recluse on the STF and may respec out of it. I gave him 300% regen with IO's. -

I know that you can't get /tells while in Arena, but this is making me think that someone is leaving a Comment on my Story Arc and I am not getting it!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, that would be my conclusion.
I'm at a loss to explain why you can't send/receive tells while in the arena anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would think so an observer can't cheat and send you a tell with the location of the other player/team.
[/ QUOTE ]
I really can't imagine it has anything to do with cheating via 3rd party information. Voice chat apps were already commonplace when this game came into existence. For that to have been the reason would show utter cluelessness. -

I ran in an ITF yesterday with a Shields Tanker (I'm an Inv Tanker). The Shields Tanker died 5 or 6 times. I never died.
I'd say Invuln.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, that may not be a fair comparison, considering all of the S/L damage that the Cimerorans do, and the nasty Def Debuffs that they have.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, that's a pretty harsh TF for a defense set. I ran that on my invuln with the combat monitor running - those guys got my defense as low as -100% a couple times. They ROUTINELY had it below -50%. Of course, it didn't do them a lick of good against 90% S/L. -

As far as the time factor that is just a matter of commitment I picked a week cause I know I got it the first time in less than a week, but I was working two jobs and training several dogs at the time so maybe I could do it faster now who knows?
[/ QUOTE ]
Obviously, you were not using your time efficiently. You should have been training those dogs to do the crafting for you. -

which brings up 7) The current system is susceptible to market chaos. If Luck Charm, Rune and Fortune are all having price or supply issues, then I can't make KB protection. It was nigh impossible to deny KB protection buffs under the old system.

From what I've seen with teammates, Empowerment has gone from very infrequent to completely absent since the changeover.
[/ QUOTE ]
Definitely. Even with mountains of influence, it's just no longer worth the NUISANCE to craft empowerment buffs. I'll just buy the bloody -KNB IO or +recovery IO, slot it and never worry about it again. -
Definitely too high NOW. Originally, it was 'in the right ballpark'. Some people felt it was high, but at least it wasn't nuts. You could do it in a matter of days if you were REALLY serious about it. When we got Brainstorms, it was trivialized. You could do it in an hour. Now, it's way too high. It certainly should not be divided by 10. The previous badge is for 1,000 craftings and you get 2/3 of those while earning all the IO badges.
Given how long it takes, and the earlier badge increments, plus the fact that you've already passed the accolade requirement.... I would think 2,500 is about right. It remains epic, but not stupidly so. -
So go back to doing the regular content? Personally, I continue to do AE stuff both solo and with teams. The only problem I've experienced involving AE is the massive crowding at the AE building in Atlas Park (which I avoid).
I never had any problem in getting on non-farm teams and I'm not seeing any problems after the 'AE freak-out'.
I'm not denying your experience, but I'm pointing out that some people haven't seen any issues. And, personally, I believe the majority of players have not had and are not having problems. -
Well, I don't have to start this with, "Is it just me or..."
The last TF I did, when we exited the final mission, THREE people had their clients crash and had to restart CoH. I was not one of them.
The TF before that, two people crashed on exiting the final mission. Again, I was lucky.
The TF before that, *SIX OUT OF EIGHT* people had their clients crash. I was one of them.
In all cases, we had no more than the usual connection issues during the TF. These were all different TF's. Apparently something has recently gotten borked with the 'end of task force' routine. -
I have a toon named 'lolz dark armor'. Not on this server, though.
-
[ QUOTE ]
We don't know how much research is involved or how long datamining takes to make sure you earned it before the issue came up that caused people to lose the badges.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think that's the issue. If you're SG doesn't have the badge, that's the only data easily available. They would have to go through logs to see if it was awarded in the past. What if it was received 6 months ago? Would logs even be available?
The exception here would be an SG that actually has the beacon installed. That PROVES they used to have the badge. -

You might want to go with 2 Drives, One fast one for the OS (like a WD Raptor) and the other for Programs and Data. Just keep in mind that within 5 years you will be upgrading your hard drive to a SSD when the price points become reasonable.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have two drives also. I have a big drive with the OS, all software and all data. Then I have a second, smaller drive where I back up all my data once a day. If you work with computers a lot, you'll overwrite or edit something you wanted to keep and you'll do it on a regular basis. If you're only going to be gaming and websurfing, then ignore me.
As for an SSD in five years? Not likely. Not for the average user. Not even the average 'power user'. And even when they do start to become common, they won't replace hard drives. Like the set-up you described, they'll replace ONE hard drive. You'll still have a massive (multiple terabytes) drive to store all ur stuffz. -
PSU: Rosewill RX750-D-B 750W
Oh, I wouldn't go with Rosewill. I'd buy a fan or a case from them, but I would never buy a PSU from them. Stick with major name brands that have a reputation for dependability built over years and dozens of independent reviews. The PSU is the one component that can easily fry everything else if it fails badly. My last 3 builds used Antec PSU's. Not the only good brand, but my personal favorite.
I am on a fixed income so I will have to be buying these parts at one to two parts a month. CPU, GPU, Case is first to be bought as they are most expensive.
ooo, bad plan. Very bad. Instead, set the money aside and save it until you can guy the stuff all at once. If you buy one piece at a time, your earlier purchases may be outdated (i.e. you could have gotten something better for less money) by the time you're ready to build.
This does not apply to all the parts. A case is a case. You're not going to get the 'same capacity for 70% of the cost' like you might with a hard drive.
Also, RAM is wonky and I'll explain why. Memory prices fluctuate STUPIDLY. Once you've started saving, watch the RAM prices. If they take a ridiculous dip, buy it immediately. Seriously, RAM prices can be halved or doubled in way under a year for no apparent reason. (To the consumer, that is. Anyone who follows the industry could probably tell you what's going on.)
Also since I am on a fixed income I will not OC. if I screw up I can't just buy new parts ya know!
All the more reason not to skimp on the power supply. -
[ QUOTE ]
Is it just me affected or is anyone elses Team Teleport power (from pool) not wroking, it is functioning as teleport travel power
[/ QUOTE ]
Can you tell us exactly what it is doing differently from your expectation?
To possibly save time, I'll guess: You saw someone use a power where it teleported the entire team to their location and you thought the 'Team Teleport' power in the pool is the power they used. It is not. The power that brings the team to your location is called 'Assemble The Team' and it is a 'Veteran Reward' power which you receive after having a paid account active for 42 months.
If that helps, cool. If not, we need a bit more explanation for us to be helpful. -
But how can that be? Someone just said Infinity is dead!
