Demote him to level 1, set base entry permissions to level 2 and up.
I'm pretty sure that's how it's done.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can NEVER block ANY members from using the base (unless you let the rent go unpaid and it locks everyone out).
The option on the settings screen about 'Base Entry Permissions' is NOT to set what ranks can enter the base - all ranks can always enter whether you like it or not. That setting is to determine what ranks are allowed to change the settings at the bottom of the screen for allowing teammates and coalition members to enter the base. -
Many (possibly most) of them are currently broken and simply say, "Nice day, isn't it?"
-
That would be correct. Every member must be kicked or choose to quit. When the last one quits, the SG goes poof.
-
Yes, I've had that 'crash at the end of the last mission' business a few times. I don't see it as a big deal as it doesn't even mess up your rewards. One crash at the end of a 2-3 hours TF isn't onerous, just a nuisance.
I have not seen any version of the other problems mentioned except in AE arcs - never on an actual task force and I run 3-4 TF's every week. -
I see. This is an issue caused by taunt auras that affect the OWNER. That would explain why (last time I checked) the auras in the ice armor set DID accept taunt sets. Those auras affect enemies only.

Let me say this again. This whole "people were wrongfully banned!" claim is total BS. Because you're just outright lying about what's going on, for the benefit of newcomers to this thread or the game, let me redirect the conversation.
[/ QUOTE ]
um, no, it actually did happen. In their datamining or whatever, they misinterpreted some level pacted toons as exploiting MA due to going from level 1 to 50 in a short time. Some toons were deleted and some temp bans handed out that should not have been. These were appealed, reviewed, fixed, etc. It's been fixed, but that doesn't make it 'not have happened'. Of course, some people went berserk on the forums about it. Annoyingly, it seems most of the loudest screamers were doing their complaining 'on behalf of others' - i.e. screaming just for the sake of screaming and making a ruckus.
Also, some screaming was undoubtedly coming from people who had toons deleted appropriately. -

Here's my question (finally! ). Once I've been gone from the game for say...three months (?), six months (?) will I lose "leader" status? Will it then be given to one of my friends who logs in regularly? I dont want to lose it because I probably will come back to the game eventually, even if its just for "free weekend".
[/ QUOTE ]
The answers to your two questions are Yes and Yes. You can set the auto-demote duration between 15 and 45 days. After that time, the Super Leader (guy with the big red star) will be demoted one step and someone else will become Super Leader.
Under no circumstances will the group disappear. This only happens if EVERYONE leaves the group (i.e. if everyone quit, or if the super leader kicked everyone and then quit the group).
Please note, you can decide in advance who you want holding the super leader rank and promote them. This will simultaneously demote you by one step (from rank 6 to rank 5).
All of this assumes you know these friends well enough to trust them with 'your' SG. Sadly, we have heard many stories here about people who thought they could trust someone in the SG and eventually came back to find all their characters kicked out of the group.
Hypothetically.... if all characters belonging to other people were 'removed' from the group, then you could never lose it. You could come back in a YEAR and you would still have the SG. -
[ QUOTE ]
Promote all of your characters to Leader, set all of your friends to one rank below that. Set permissions on all the storage items, etc, so that your friends can still access them. This way the only characters eligible for auto-promotion are yours.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong.
As quoted above by Bill: "The highest ranking member with the most recent log-out time will be auto-promoted once Super Leader position is vacated."
If all of the OP's toons have been offline more than 45 days (assuming auto-demote is set to 45), then it checks at lower ranks. -
[ QUOTE ]
You can set the supergroup auto-demotion timeframe, in the SG information window. However, if you founded the SG, the character that founded it will stay at the super-leader level, no matter how much time passes.
[/ QUOTE ]
WHOA! Flat-out wrong.
The auto-demote setting applies to the Super Leader and Super Leader ONLY. The one Super Leader will be demoted at the time interval set and someone else will be given that position. -

While I agree with what happened, the costume getting changed, after all the EULA is pretty clear on this and it's their game, it's funny that they react this way when you consider that doing mish's you rescue Peter Kent (A reporter with a secret identity) Anne Race (a writer) Joan Waters (a Tv person) and a few others with obvious ties to real life or cartoon characters.
Hypocritical anyone?
[/ QUOTE ]
If you want to call it that, sure. Who cares?
NCSoft has enacted their own rules, which are stricter than the law requires, for their own protection. These rules (in the EULA) are more restrictive than the rules they themselves need to follow. They set it up that way and you agree every time you log in. So, yes, there are two sets of rules: one for them and one for the players. And they TOLD you the rules and you AGREED to abide by them. -
So I decide to see if I can get Harvey Maylor off my contact list.....
"Can you do a newspaper article about the Carnies?"
"Sure"
> Mission: Defeat 50 Carnies
> Drop Mission
"No one believes the stuff I write about the Carnies. If people see you fighting them, it may convince people."
"Sure, Harvey."
> Mission: Defeat 50 Carnies
> Hunt and defeat 50 of the elusive Carnies in Peregrine Island.....
"The Carnies are really getting out of hand. I need you to keep them in line."
> Mission: Defeat 50 Carnies
"Bite me, Harvey."
Seriously, 3 "Hunt 50 Carnies" missions in a row? Is this guy broken or stupid? And no, he isn't just killing time before offering his arc because I have too many arcs open or anything like that. I already got and FINISHED his arc.
Maybe he hates me because he knows how much I hate his guts. -

Thanks, it'll be a while till i build the wings, but I will favorite this thread so I can look that up when I get it ^-^
[/ QUOTE ]
A word of warning, so you don't get to the tailor and get disappointed. Both wings and capes are 'back options' and you can't use them until you do the cape mission which becomes available at level 20. (An exception is in place for capes from a PURCHASED booster pack, like the Valkyrie/Mac pack.) -
[ QUOTE ]
In many sets, there's at least one power that flat out sucks, and taking it just to fill a mental checklist is fine, but it's never going to make you more effective than something you could have picked elsewhere.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree with the "in many sets" part. That's not the same as "all". And I NEVER take a power just to fill a mental checklist. I take them because I find them useful. -
I'm pretty sure that it's working as intended and they are supposed to be monumentally stupid.

thay cannot be sued by US copyright laws for someone having a character that looks SIMILAR to a copyrighted name/face/character/fart smell this si teh same reason people cannot sue Wierd Al for the songs he makes,
[/ QUOTE ]
You are clueless and should just stop now. NCSoft was ALREADY SUED over this, so I guess the US legal system disagrees with your expert opinion. And, since I guess you weren't aware, Weird Al contacts the artists he parodies and GETS THEIR PERMISSION IN ADVANCE. -
And, because it usually comes up next, I will re-emphasize that it goes by the NAME of the bonus, not the number. Generally, all bonuses of a certain number will have the same name. The ONE exception is the Luck of the Gambler +7.5% recharge. It does NOT have the same name as the 7.5% recharge from set bonuses.

Playing a scrapper...
I could never say no to a tank on the team...
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd normally say the same...until I ran on a lvl 20-ish team running the midnighter arc the other day. Inv/* Tank didn't have his status protection. But he did have both the flight and speed power pools and I believe he had 3 of the 4 powers in each pool.
[/ QUOTE ]
But, in this case, that would be "saying no to a knucklehead on the team..." -
Hoarfrost - You're seriously gimping it by not slotting with heal sets. You want close to 100% on heal and recharge and this can be done in 5 slots.
Combat Jumping - I took it way earlier on my ice tank, for the extra defense. Similarly, you should get a Steadfast Protection +def unique in there if you can afford it. (I assume you can, with multiple LotG +recharge in there.)
Energy Absorption - It's hard to judge how the build will play, END-wise, just by looking at it. I have a partial taunt set in this power but also some end mod. Not much, I'll admit. It's a pretty good power 'right out of the box'.
Taunt - Has a long duration but only hits 5 targets. I'd slot it for recharge before taunt duration.
Ice Patch - I don't have a feel for the recharge rate for the tank version (never having played Ice Melee). It's an ugly, ugly power. My ice controller has it slotted with a lot more recharge.
Overall, looks like a build with very high survivability. It could be better, but it sure ain't gimpy. Aside from damage output, I guess, but if you wanted to do a lot of damage, you wouldn't have taken Ice Melee. -
[ QUOTE ]
You know, is there honestly any good reason CS shouldn't just take 2 minutes and help him? I can't think of one. And 'working as intended' and 'Some random guy is leader now' aren't 'good' reasons.
[/ QUOTE ]
You do realize that we have only heard one side of the story, right? And, even if it was relayed with perfect accuracy, any report from a single individual will be inherently subjective and biased.
The entire auto-demote system exists precisely to address situations where a leader goes AWOL. The reason for the absence isn't relevant to the discussion. The system is in place to keep the other members of the SG from being screwed by a leader disappearing.
P.S. At any rate, the 'random guy leader' was offline 41 days and due to hit 45 on May 16th. Hopefully this situation has fixed itself as of the 16th. -
[ QUOTE ]
Really *any* well played defender is a great asset to a team, and I'd encourage you to try several, as they play very differently.
[/ QUOTE ]
Someone had a line in their sig that went something like this: "Playing different scrapper sets is like the difference between playing raquetball and playing tennis. Playing different defender sets is like the difference between playing hockey and playing the piano." -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty much with you. I'd never take all 9 powers from a primary or secondary, because I never feel like all 9 powers apply to the theme of a particular character.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't go quite that far. I have a few characters who have every power in their primary. The primary set is the 'heavy hitter', operating at maximum effectiveness. I'll frequently take only 4-5 powers from the secondary and I've never take all 9. Of course, one character's secondary can be the primary on a different AT. -
[ QUOTE ]
AFTER that happened, now the GMs are demanding that the toon be deleted outright OR the player's 5 tear running account will be banned.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, but this sounds like either a misunderstanding or someone in the chain of communication deliberately lying to stir up trouble.
This is not how it works. If a toon did need to be deleted for some reason, it would have been deleted. The GM's don't 'demand' that a toon be deleted.
