You can have two builds for a character. This is a really nice feature *IF* you want to use the character for two completely different purposes: PvE and PvP, solo and large teams, etc. Since you're asking about general build questions, you probably don't need two specialized builds on a character at this point. Some people never will. I don't have dual builds on any of my toons.

Sign up Ironblade for team two; lvl 50 BS/regen.

will that one IO provide enough protection from KB that I can now consider not taking Acrobatics, or would it behoove me to go ahead and take it anyway?
[/ QUOTE ]
It depends on how freaked out you'll get about being knocked back on rare occasions. I have a fire/fire brute who gets plenty of aggro and bought two of the Steadfast -knockback IO's (same magnitude as the Karma IO). I slotted one to see if that was enough. It reduced how often I was knocked back so dramatically that I sold the second one.
If you were a tank, I'd say you need at least two. Getting knocked back at a bad time could wipe the team. For a scrapper, do what I did: try it with one for a while. You can add another any time you feel like it. -

okay, just a single, simple question. How in the heck can a chain link fence block teleportation? I mean, c'mon you are disassembling your molecules in one place, and re-assembling them in another...physical barriers with gaps shouldn't be an issue
[/ QUOTE ]
Move your camera angle. Reinforced concrete bunkers are not an obstacle to teleport, let alone a chain link fence. -

both power are going to be in the last slot (Level 49) and both won't have any extra slot to spare (so just the default 1 slot),
[/ QUOTE ]
As a minor aside, you get 3 more slots at 50 so you could have FOUR slots on your last power.
Resilience is pretty good. I don't have it in my build currently. When they introduced RV with all those badges, I respec'ed to get Assault and Tactics for PvP and had to ditch stuff. -
Yes, you can run it again to get the badge. In fact, you can run ANY of them to get it. Here's how it works:
There are FOUR badges total associated with the respec trial. The first time you do one, no matter what reward you choose, you get the Transmogrified badge (this is in the Accomplishments section).
*IF* you choose a respec as your reward, you will get an accolade badge also. There are three accolade badges but they are *NOT* associated with a specific trial. The only restriction is your level.
After you hit 24, you can do the first trial, pick the respec and get the first accolade.
After you hit 34, you can do the FIRST OR SECOND trial, pick the respec and get the second accolade.
After you hit 44, you can do ANY OF THE THREE TRIALS, pick the respec and get the third accolade. -

The one thing that you need to keep in mind is that you'll be softcapping typed defenses rather than positional def., although it's not as hard to do that as it used to be.
[/ QUOTE ]
Shield Defense is positional. So if you're going for the cap on a shield tank, you'll be capping positional defense (which isn't hard, considering where you start). -

You should have upped your donation by a factor of ten and then see if they stuck to their morals. Every one has their price after all.

Alleged conversation by Winston Churchill:
Churchill: Madam, would you sleep with me for five million pounds?
Socialite: My goodness, Mr. Churchill... Well, I suppose... we would have to discuss terms, of course...
Churchill: Would you sleep with me for five pounds?
Socialite: Mr. Churchill, what kind of woman do you think I am?!
Churchill: Madam, we've already established that. Now we are haggling about the price. -
We need a 'Serial Billionaire' badge. Every time I pass 1 billion influence (which I did yesterday, for the 4th or 5th time), it starts burning a hole in my pocket and I have to spend a couple hundred mill on one of my toons.

Indian givers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Use it right if at all.
Native Americans having a distinctly different sense of property ownership as opposed to those of European ancestry. One holds that early European settlers in North America misinterpreted aid and goods they received from Native Americans as "gifts," when in fact they were intended to be offered in trade, as many tribes operated economically by some form of barter system, or a gift economy where reciprocal giving was practiced. It is also that this stereotype was coined or exaggerated by the conquering European groups to denigrate the native people as dishonest and thereby justify their conquest.
Miss using this term and or using it as slander is way uncool. Thanks.
[/ QUOTE ]
He did use it right. Let me quote from the same page on wikipedia that you quoted (without credit).
"Indian giver is a North American English expression used to describe a person who gives something and later wants it back, or something equivalent in return."
I'll agree it's an offensive usage. Wikipedia commented on that also:
"The phrase is considered a racial stereotype and is often offensive, as it implies that Native Americans commonly practiced this behavior." -

I understand what you are saying, but there are MANY remedies to international offenses just like this. The entertainment industry faces this and more daily and has developed a fairly good system to deal with international violations like this.

You're joking, right? If you ever meet Steve Ballmer, ask him what he thinks of the software 'industry' in China. -

At heart, all of you agree with me. A one time fee would be far better.

False. Do NOT presume to speak for me. -
I think he's referring to the stone columns on the Magic Axis.

the thing that was throwing me off was the missing pillar. i knew it was a control item so i was half right. don't go jumping all over me like i was completely wrong.

Your initial post wasn't a big deal. It was when you wrongly corrected someone who was actually right. That's when you became "completely wrong". -

Having never been on an all kin STF, I don't really know what the hell I'm talking about, and I am ... so... lame.

The Velour Fog? Lame? Never. -

it is not a ceiling item. it is the arcane control unit that is hung upside down as in reference to bbq_porks post.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong. The third tier control item mounts on the ceiling. Furthermore, the other two control items look COMPLETELY different. -

Ok, Just want to make sure I understand.
1) I can only get a purple when I'm 50. = TRUE.
2) If I kill ANYTHING in PvE that is level 49 to 55, then there is a chance at a purple drop AND the drop rate is the same reguardless of the level of the mob.= TRUE.
3) No purple drops in Architect. = TRUE
[/ QUOTE ]
The first two are FALSE. Purple drops depend exclusively on the level of the enemy. You can be level 1 SK'ed to 49 and get a purple recipe. Also, enemies below level 49 can drop level 50 recipes. For sure level 48s can and maybe 47s of high rank. I'm not sure how low they can be and still drop purples, but I know it's at least 48. -

Why is the first instinct of so many on this forum to go running to mommy?
[/ QUOTE ]
And once again, the person reporting a problem becomes the problem and is "running to mommy". I guess you're unable to comprehend that serious exploiting and unacceptable behavior hurt the entire community and there are people who are (gasp) actually willing to make an effort to help the game and the community as a whole. -

However, if you are offline for an extended period of time, it still may give you the same message.
If you look at your global friend list and see people "online" but without a server (shard) listed, those people are also affected. It seems nothing will kick the account offline until it's logged back in again.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a completely different issue and has nothing to do with the OP's concern. If you log out without quitting your team, it may display you on global lists for a while. It doesn't mean they'll get the 'already online' message or that you can send them a message.
As the OP describes, sometimes the game will think you're still online, presumably due to connection issues while you were counting down. More than once, I've been able to successfully send a tell from one character to another on the same account. At least, it seemed successful to the sender. Obviously I didn't receive it on the other character. SG lists and the search window also indicated the other character was online. -
It's not Faultline and it doesn't appear to be server-specific. I was detoggled five times in less than 20 minutes: exit a mission = detoggle, go to Ouroboros = detoggle, use the train = detoggle.
I assume it must be horrendously difficult to identify and fix this issue, based on the fact that it has been around forever and merely fluctuates in severity. -

a volcano splitting the island into 4 is silly. It would have been far bigger than Krakatoa. Assuming a natural volcano - which don't occur on the east coast.

However, I have yet to experience anything IN_GAME that would tell me whether I am doing something wrong or not when it comes to AE content and farming. Most players never touch the forums, so I am wondering what the criteria is for farming/banning??
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I'm sure many people will scream at me for this reply, but they can be safely ignored. Basically, you can't get anywhere near banning territory without knowing exactly what you're doing. You need to know the game system really well to effectively exploit it. Trust me, you can *NOT* do it by accident.
Please note, however, if a new player gets on a team with a serious exploiter, that is not "by accident". That is someone being led astray by one of the 'bad guys'. So, yes, you can end up exploiting without realizing it if you hook up with an exploiter. But exploiting that is extreme enough for banning absolutely can't happen by accident. If you're solo, don't worry. If you're a team of inexperienced players, don't worry. If someone you don't know invites you to a team with a promise of "fast levels", then it's time to worry. -
Also in the exploration badge text in the Atlas Park safeguard. It refers to Jose 'Broken' Brogan and explains the nickname.

In my mind the only redeeming factor is the granite armor. So I'm just wondering, is there something that I'm forgetting about stone that makes it really good or is it really just that stone defense is getting left in the dust by new and better sets?
[/ QUOTE ]
The only redeeming quality is being the toughest thing in the entire game (accessible to players). Depending on how you look at it, Stone has always been 'left in the dust'. It has never been super-popular because of the limitations on granite. -

[/ QUOTE ]
Bingo. For some reason, satellite borks the updater even if it handles the game well. I know two people on satellite and they both have this problem.
Their solution: spam click the updater shortcut until you have a couple dozen of them trying to connect. One of them should get through within a few minutes.
