What makes me nervous about Ice and Invuln are the holes in their defense. Specifically toxic. Ive seen a number of Posi TFs fall apart because the first few missions have Vahz in them and the INV tanks just cant take the alpha from an 8 man spawn. Since I plan to solely level via TFs I dont want a gaping hole to any one TF. Am I making way to big a deal out of the hole? If so, please let me know.
[/ QUOTE ]
*WAY* too big a deal. Firstly, every AT is badly gimped at level 15 and every tank set pretty much sucks. No one should be trying to take an 8-man alpha on that TF. The minions are monumentally stupid - use that.
As for the holes in any set, no tank set is rendered useless by having a 'hole'. I've tanked the Malaise and Mother Mayhem missions on my invuln. The dark/dark scrapper volunteered, due to his psi resistance, and kept face-planting. So I took over and didn't die once. These 'holes' are not the Achilles Heel that people make them out to be.
Ice and invuln are widely regarded as two of the better sets. They have holes so that they aren't completely indestructible. You learn the sets; you learn the shortcomings and you work around them. I've taken ice and invuln to 50. They aren't gimped. -

Ok that's what i thought I was asking about the badge and for some reason it didn't get me it so i need to make a new guy dang.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, you don't. In order to get the teleport beacons, someone in the SG needs to visit each exploration badge in the zone while in SG mode.
- You don't have to have the same person visit each badge.
- You don't have to visit them in any specific period of time.
- It doesn't matter if the character already has that exploration badge.
Regarding the third item, the only downside is that, if you already have the badge, you don't get an immediate onscreen confirmation that it 'counts'. Just because you saw the badge and ran right over it does NOT mean it counted. Sometimes they take a few seconds to register. When visiting the badges for the beacons, on a character that already has the badge, make sure you see the badge and then stand RIGHT ON TOP IT for 10 seconds to be absolutely sure. -
I would ask in the Freedom section (if you haven't already). I have someone sitting on that mission but I'm on Infinity.

Thanks for all the help, i might give farming it a go, you would think that there would be quite a large handfull of others in need of this badge too! Thanks for all the help again!
[/ QUOTE ]
Probably. I've helped over 30 people farm it on Infinity and didn't have to search for them. I would imagine the number would be proportional to server population on other servers. -

4. Linking means not wasting time writing it again.

But you know this will come up again. So this entire explanation should have been posted elsewhere and linked. -

Level 6, either 90 days or one year (I think), and I think they tend to run it without telling us.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, they do give advance notice. They haven't run it for quite some time, though.
It's inactive (non subscribed) for 90 days, and level 6.
[/ QUOTE ]
MAYBE on the advance notice. They gave us warning that they may run it with no advance notice at some point in the future. So far, they have not done it without warning (as far as I know), but they said that they MIGHT. -

The impressive gameworld is 99% irrelevant as soon as you can fly (level 14), as missions put a destination marker on your map to travel to - just ignore everything and fly straight there. Hop into the bland, randomly-generated maze portal and wack the bad guy. Done. Fly back to your contact and do it again.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait. So you admit the gameworld is impressive but it's irrelevant because of the playstyle *YOU CHOOSE* and this is a shortcoming of the GAME? -

I was screaming at the TV at first but then realized I was being an idiot when they showed the close-up re-play.
[/ QUOTE ]
It wasn't until the reply that you came to that realization?
So, when did you stop beating your television? -
They are not end-game content. They are *GROUP* content so, yes, it's very difficult/slow for a soloer to get a decent base.

If you are having a hard time with AV's. just bring some mechs (or whatever the vill equivalent is) and shivans! I solo AV's with no effort and now have 8 member teams who get stuck actually drop a member to have me come finish off the AV for them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow. Any team of 8 that can't take down any regular AV must suck like a tornado. -

Moral: Don't claim a slot until you are actually full and "need" the slot to create your next character. Otherwise it doesn't make sense to add the slot, nor accept the terms of it being permanent.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is worth repeating. It's of no help to the OP, of course, but may prevent someone else from having the same problem. -

Mids character planner is a new on on me, so is Leandro's mission creator. Bean browswing through Tomax and while useful, doesn't seem well planned out.
[/ QUOTE ]
To each his own. Red Tomax's site is permanently loaded on one tab in my browser. ParagonWiki is on another tab.
While I don't perceive anything 'missing', the fact that I already use three separate sites shows that no one site gets the whole job done. You guys could easily come up with something that I'll look at and wonder, "Why didn't anyone else do this?" -
The BBQ threadjack was clever the first time. It was amusing the next half-dozen or so times.
Now, it's just old and tired. -

Holy crap OSHA and Mrs. OSHA are married?!?
[/ QUOTE ]
I know, right? I thought it was like hero names, like you have Ms. Liberty, Miss Liberty, Liberty Belle, etc, etc.
Oh, Happy Birthday, OSHA. -
Or the moat could fill the entire room and the bar could be raised on pilings. Now, if only we could have sharks swimming around....
-
That's good. I heard somewhere that DirectTV hates puppies and I wouldn't want the puppies to be unhappy.
-
How about DM? I have a dark/dark scrapper who took the Sands of Mu. I'm toying with the idea of taking Flurry, purely for comedy value. If we could queue up multiple attacks, I could go make a sandwich while they fire off.

Thessalia and Aibheil, you're both perfectly welcome to join in. It's good to have new faces.

Aibheil was there last week. -

Interesting that you turn this into a "Kruunch vs. everyone else".
Lot of tanks read these boards. Only a couple disagreeing with me. Probably because most of them don't care ... they play the game to play the game.
Might wanna take a hint.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or a significant portion don't see any point in even answering some of your posts because they are so ridiculous and/or seemingly deliberately insulting. Make no mistake, it's clear you know what you're talking about *most* of the time. But then you get really arrogant and insultingly dismiss OPINIONS AND EXPERIENCE that disagree with your OPINION AND EXPERIENCE.
Unless you can show us that you were handed the 'tank bible' at some point, a portion of your posts can only be regarded as anecdotal, with ZERO basis in fact and no correlation to the personal experience of multiple other players.

You are probably right. However, this time last year we already knew what date the Halloween event would start and end, as well as all the other events up till april. And now.. no info?
[/ QUOTE ]
Except that has nothing to do with events being scheduled or not. It has solely to do with there not being a new sent of desktop calendar images.
I would wager real money that we will have a Halloween event and a Winter event every year as long as the game lasts. I would 'expect' also a Valentine's Day event due to strong precedent but would not be willing to bet money on it. As for Double XP Weekends..... my wild guess would be that we're about 70% likely to have these continue in the near future. -
[ QUOTE ]
I apppreciate all the responses but the jist of the thread was whether anybody cares at all about which SG/VG is ranked first in overal prestige earned and not what your personal prestige totals are.
[/ QUOTE ]
OH! Totally different question. For that, my answer would be "it depends". There are a handful of groups in the rankings who got prestige by an exploit and there are even more that did massive farming just to get high in the rankings. In those cases, the numbers are meaningless.
On the other hand, I find the ranking useful for gauging our progress. We never exploited, nor have we ever farmed for prestige. So, the fact that we have steadily climbed the ranks is a concrete sign that we're a growing, active group. Not the only sign, of course, but it's just one more piece of data that can be useful when properly evaluated.
So, yes. I do pay some attention to the numbers and usually check our status whenever I'm in City Hall to pay the rent. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
And, because it usually comes up next, I will re-emphasize that it goes by the NAME of the bonus, not the number. Generally, all bonuses of a certain number will have the same name. The ONE exception is the Luck of the Gambler +7.5% recharge. It does NOT have the same name as the 7.5% recharge from set bonuses.
[/ QUOTE ]
According to the Wiki, "While a character can slot the same (full or partial) set multiple times in different powers, he cannot benefit from more than five copies of any one set bonus of the exact same attribute and amount."
The example given:
"The Kinetic Combat set can give +1.5% Max Health and +3.3% Immobilization Resistance. The Mako's Bite set can give +1.5% Max Health and +2.75% Immobilization Resistance. If a character slots four partial sets of both, he will receive the full total of 24.2% Immobilization Resistance but only +7.5% Max Health because he cannot get more than five Max Health bonuses of exactly +1.5%."
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, both the intro and the example are misleading. The RESULT is correct, but it's not because they exceeded five bonuses of 1.5%. It's because they had more than five bonuses with the same name. It doesn't go by "amount".
In all the examples you gave, there is no problem at all. -

Eh, sorry if I seem overly aggressive, but it does grate on the nerves when someone is so smug when they're so grossly wrong...
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? It doesn't grate on me when you do it. -
I don't see any reason to doubt it. Halloween, and the Halloween event, come around every year. On the other hand, there could be reason to doubt further Double XP weekends now that we have patrol XP. I'm not saying there won't be any, but the people who are skeptical seem to have some valid points.
