How are we supposed to hold a spot if you can't even tell us the name?
<.<

Who's on first? -
[ QUOTE ]
Oooh... now we're talking about people failing to know their transportation? Yeah... I've run into that. I've met at least three people who didn't know about the Black Helicopter Line between Cap Au Diable and Mercy Island.
[/ QUOTE ]
feh. I can never remember which zones connect where on redside. I simply don't play there enough to ever get familiar with the layout. -
Way too much effort. I only deal with a handful of times. If some of them move out of favor, or are less volatile for a period of time, I don't earn any funds from the market. (shrug) I don't need to have a steady stream of influence from the market so I don't put much effort into it.

When I use flight, 2 slotted with freebirds I think, I'm always the last one to the mish but I have one of the fastest loading machines. Will you PLEASE speed up flight? More people would probably use it if it wasn't so slow.
[/ QUOTE ]
Firstly, you're either grossly exaggerating or doing something wrong. I have characters WITH NO TRAVEL POWER who still aren't the last to get to the mission most of the time.
Secondly, flight is already the most popular travel power. Why? Because it's FLIGHT! It's so 'superheroey'. -
[ QUOTE ]
I don't know, I can't cite the source at the moment, but at one point, the devs said that they would never give away anything that people paid for, in relation to people asking for stuff like some of the add-on pack perks as veteran rewards.
[/ QUOTE ]
<cough>character slots<cough>
<cough>respecs<cough>
To be fair, they did actually say something along those lines but it seemed to be in relation to costume parts and/or powers. Clearly, MA slots are more similar to character slots (which you CAN buy), than they are to costume parts or powers. -
No.
Yes. Yes.
You can buy MA slots.
Would I tell you? -

I didn't have to get Unabashed for the beacon. I went through one day and got all the zone badges in SG mode for the RWZ and, when I got the second-to-last badge (so all but Unabashed) I got the message that the beacon was unlocked.
That's not to say I couldn't have already had Unabashed-it's definitely possible-but since I had no other badges for that zone when I started, it's improbable.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you the only person in the SG? As DrMike2000 points out, someone else could have gotten that one. I've gotten the RWZ beacon multiple times and ALWAYS needed to get the Unabashed badge. -
- not really a storyline when you enter the game, you begin and just doing some quests to level
Yep. 'Baby heroes' don't get much epic content. In my personal opinion, you don't see any really good stories until you hit the 15-20 range, then you get several and it gets better and better from there.
- it's sometimes pretty confusing where i should go for contact persons
I'm not sure exactly what you mean here. For some information on the contacts and their missions, there is a pretty comprehensive chart here on Red Tomax's site.
- since i don't have flying yet the traveling is a pain and boring
You can get a temporary rocket pack as early as level 5. Seriously, though, not having a 'travel power' is NOT a big deal. I took a villain to level 50 using Sprint and Combat Jumping. He also had the temp powers and used up maybe 60 minutes of the charge in the process of getting to 50.
In the long run, you'll want to try all the travel powers. However, choosing NO travel power is entirely a viable option. And this isn't a role-play or concept issue - I just had other powers that I wanted more.
- from my experience not really much ai with the enemy's and see always the same on the streets. gangs standing by each other or criminals are robbing a women from there purse or break in to something. not much variation to that.
At low levels, the enemies are intentionally:
- kind of weak
- lacking in unusual powers
- kind of simple
At low levels, the heroes don't have a lot of useful powers. Also, the powers they do have pretty much suck.... well, maybe that's too harsh. At low levels, your powers have only a fraction of their potential. As you gain levels, you can add enhancement slots to the powers to make them better and you will also gain access to better types of enhancements. You can get a better type at level 12, and even better ones at level 22. -

I notice no one has mentioned the drawbacks of playing on Freedom and Virtue. So here it is.
Due to the high populations on those servers, they freqently get locked (or greyed) out during special events. When that happens you will have a hard time logging onto those servers. You need patience.
It is a good idea to have characters on other servers so you can still enjoy the game if either or both of those servers are down.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's also worth mentioning that regional internet problems can mess up your connection to one of the server farms. Freedom, Infinity, Liberty, Pinnacle, Triumph and Victory are on computers physically located in Virgina (the 'East Coast Servers'). Champion, Guardian, Justice, Protector and Virtue are on computers in California (the 'West Coast Servers').
So, if you do decide you like the game, you'll probably want some characters on a server in group A and one in group B.
This page on ParagonWiki.com has information about the game servers. -

if build right, i see this as the only possible combination that would be able to beat him with the tower up. if the team practiced and had their crap right. for instance, all build for damage resist.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm guessing this is some sort of personal challenge or ego trip? The team you describe, particularly with practice, could take a tower down in SECONDS. Why wouldn't you do it that way? -
[ QUOTE ]
Secondly, I wanted to warn you about travel powers. If I remember correctly, you are using a trial account. Trial accounts do not give the full gameplay experience. Not even close. Unfortunately, this means the level progression stops before you gain a travel power. This sucks. Unless you purchase the game and a months worth of play, you won't get to experience the majesty of soaring over Paragon City or jumping from rooftop to utility poles to rooftop again.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, this was covered in one of his other threads. Trial accounts can get to level FOURTEEN and they CAN get a travel power. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Also once you get into the higher levels, I believe lv20 and beyond, it takes 5 scanner missions to get a safeguard mission.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's still 3 for me on my 48 toon...did one tonight.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was pretty certain it's not. And ParagonWiki agrees. Read the last paragraph of the linked section.
Doing someone else's scanner missions counts for your progress. Although it might have to be from the same detective - not sure on that part. -
[ QUOTE ]
2) if the devs ever decide to enforce no power-leveling as they've enforced no farming, you won't be caught in the cross-fire.
[/ QUOTE ]
"enforced no farming"? What planet are you posting from? Unless, of course, we're specifically referring to AE, but I didn't see any mention of that in the OP. -
[ QUOTE ]
We even had Slax come in and attempt to self destruct, which was kind of funny.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, are you saying Slax TRIED to self-destruct and FAILED? That's.... sad.
That's almost like throwing yourself at the ground and missing. -
[ QUOTE ]
And there is no petition here either, I don't expect anyone to "sign" this thread. Just add something to their sig.
[/ QUOTE ]
Word games. It smells like a petition, quacks like a petition.....
By the way, not everybody gets the Greek letters. Those are a vet reward. (Only six months, but still, not everyone can get them.) -
[ QUOTE ]
[Edit add: If they do undertake an analysis and the "answer" is: "Gee Fire_Away, thanks for the tip. There is still way too much storage in bases and we need to cut back more." I guess I would have gotten what I deserved huh?]
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe the only kind of 'base love' the devs can imagine is 'tough love'. -
[ QUOTE ]
So far I have figgured out <QR> as quick reply and IMO/IMHO as in my opinion/in my honest opinion
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, it's generally read as In My HUMBLE Opinion.
[ QUOTE ]
Another unrelated question is it considered bad if you make multiple threads if you have multiple unrelated questions, or should you post them all in one long post that is a solid wall of text.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wall of text is bad. But most questions only need a sentence or two so having several in one post is fine. Keep in mind though, a few subjects have their own forum sections. If you have a question about badges and a question about crashing, you'd be better off posting one in 'Badges and Gladiators' and the other in 'Technical Issues and Bugs', rather than putting both together in 'Player Questions'. -
[ QUOTE ]
naw, don't let anyone tell you any AT is useless on a MoSTF run; I have done them with warshades, all kinds of scrappers, a fire tank, and once with Jules ....
[/ QUOTE ]
hm.... what AT is a 'Jules'? -
Cubicles are pretty easy. Just put the cubicle wherever you need to float something - the cubicle can be intersecting the teleporter in the previous example. Then stick the item on the cubicle wall. Then remove the cubicle.
With the size of the cubicle wall, you have a pretty wide range of positions available. The person who floated the beacons and lights probably did both at the same time and then removed the cubicle. -

I thought trial accounts could reach level 14.
To clarify Von Krieger's post (which may not need it): You can get a "taste" of flying at level 5 with a temporary power which runs out after 2 hours.
The level 14 Fly power is something you can use as long as you want. Fly a hundred yards up in the air, go grab a sandwich in safety, come back, cruise through zones that would otherwise kill you, etc. - and it's a lot faster than the temp power.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I thought trial accounts went to level 15. Don't quote me, but I'm about 90% sure they do.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's 13.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's 14.
I was teaming with someone on a trial account who was level 13 and I warned her she couldn't go any higher without subscribing. She promptly trained up to 14 and got a travel power and I went and checked the trial account restrictions and found that it was indeed 14. -
[ QUOTE ]
i m game if you wanna show me a Mostf strategy without a tank..
[/ QUOTE ]
You're joking right? Enough controllers and/or defenders make it *EASY*. -
[ QUOTE ]
I know we were all newbs at one point in time...but isn't that a bit rediculous?
[/ QUOTE ]
On the bright side, some of them will see that there's no huge big deal about having reached 50, and they'll leave.
On the even brighter side, some of them will stick around and become good players. Sure, they're annoying now with their 50 that only took them a week, but six months from now they'll have six months experience and it won't matter how fast they got their first 50. -
[ QUOTE ]
If you DC anytime during last mish (even when exiting completed mish after badge awarded) you won't get merits.
This has happened to me a number of times, and support can't/won't help.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've had this happen multiple times (client crash upon mission complete) and I got the merits every time. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Take a Dark Defender with you. They can debuff your Defense to -100%, but it won't matter if they only have a 5% chance to hit you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fixed
[/ QUOTE ]
And make no mistake, they WILL. I did this on my invuln and I did indeed see his base defense hit -100%. If he didn't have 90% lethal resist.... it would have been bad. Well, worse. -
[ QUOTE ]
Any other suggestions why this could be a useful power?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's like the storm set. In the hands of a skilled player, it's pretty darn useful. In the hands of a goober, the most likely result is to irritate teammates.
