    Thanks for the link :-)

We knew that the towers didn't respawn and that repairmen were summoned to heal the towers.

    [/ QUOTE ]
While they don't respawn on their own, repairmen from one tower can rebuild a previously destroyed tower.

I completed the Numina Task Force on the character Xivilai on Protector. I crashed on exitting the final mission and was awarded the badge but no merits.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Are you positive? I've done almost 100 task forces since the introduction of merits and have always received them even though:
    1) I crashed on exiting numerous times.
    2) I received no notification of a merit award. This failure occurred many times with or without a crash. I ALWAYS got the merits, though.
  3. Yes, END reduction on the attacks you use the most is very effective. Also keep in mind, if you use the attack a lot, it's a significant source of damage. Based on the numbers you listed (and since accuracy is already covered), I'd want to increase the END reduction to over 60% and get that recharge as high as possible.

I have one tank with a bunch of attacks slotted with 4 Kinetic Combat and 2 Pounding Slugfest (8% regen for 2 pieces). Assuming those Kinetics are already slotted, Pounding Slugfest wouldn't be the best way to go. If you can add 2 slots, Mako's Bite would be good: damage/recharge and accuracy/endurance/recharge. Starting from scratch, I would have gone with Pounding Slugfest and use different pieces from Kinetic Combat.

As for procs, the regular ones are kind of shabby. The purple ones are quite good: 33% chance for additional moderate damage. I'm not a big fan of slotting purple procs by themselves because I prefer to slot full sets.

Three Membranes would be great in Rage. Each will give 20% accuracy buff and 33% recharge so you'll hit ED on both effects.

SerialBeggar: Did the Paragon Taxi Service SG come before or after the Perez Search and Rescue SG? I've always wondered.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Do you mean Paragon City Search and Rescue (PCSAR)?

I'm not familiar with the Perez group you mention, though I believe PCSAR started on Infinity and has some members working on Virtue. I'm not an authority on that group though. I think Ironblade can fill in more details when he spots this thread.

    -Johnny

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Who? Me?
I still consider myself a newcomer to PCSAR. I've been a member for three years as of earlier this month (I think my join date was June 11 - I'd have to log in and check the SG list to be sure).

Yes, Paragon City Search And Rescue originated on Infinity and was voted favorite SG on Infinity a couple years ago. There is an SG on Virtue with the same name but there is no affiliation with us. We do have a branch on Freedom, though.

I can't tell you exactly when the SG was founded, but I can advise that the earliest registrations on our forums were early September of 2004. If you want to learn more about the SG in general, I have a link to our site in my sig.

There are some missions in City of Villains that causes powers to become detoggled. I haven't made a list of them, but I have one I'm playing that detoggles when entering the mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm curious. Have you actually tried this multiple times to see if it does it every time? As far as I can tell, *ANY* zoning (into a mission, out of a mission, zone to zone, O-Portal, etc) has a chance to detoggle you. I have yet to find any circumstance that does it every single time.

Aaaaaaaaand another fool and his money are soon parted.

Just because someone actually bought it, doesn't make your asking price any less ridiculous... it just makes them dumb

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I disagree.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Actually, neither of you have enough evidence to draw conclusions. One transaction is not statistically significant. Maybe the price was ridiculous and a lunatic happened to come along or maybe it was reasonable and multiple buyers were competing for it.

The OP's transaction might have been luck or shrewd marketeering. There's no way to tell. Actually, there is. Watch that item over the course of time. But one transaction tells us nothing.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Oh believe me I'm not attacking the op like the others are. I'm pointing out that our community has too many jackasses in it that like to bully people on the forums and make them feel unwanted.

I too would like to know if a double xp weekend is coming up and I hope it only works in official content so people will stop MA farming for awhile and do something a bit different.

Why did I just post this? To again point out the jackasses and to show that I wasn't one of them incase my above post looked that way. I was just answering the quoted question lol

    [/ QUOTE ]
LOL! And coming in here and calling people "jackasses" is taking the high road?
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Oh and "pk", why do you think ALL villains are cowardly, it honestly takes a lot to go toe to toe with more than one "Hero" alone and win, or sometimes lose.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    BECAUSE BATMAN SAID SO!
"Villains are a cowardly and superstitious lot."

Look im not saying that houtex is full of it or anything, i just dont see how they went from:

    For Windows PCs:

Minimum System Requirements for City of Heroes:

    [/ QUOTE ]
You need to read that correctly. "Minimum System Requirements" means "It will run but it will suck and you will hate every minute." And to get it to run on what they list, you probably need to turn all settings to absolute minimum.

Frankly, their "Recommended System Specifications" are a cruel joke. Phrasing it like that suggests you'll be able to have some eye candy and get decent performance. You will NOT.

P.S. Your biggest issue is too little RAM.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
OK, but this is anecdotal stuff. I've never found one in my VGs, you've never been in one without it. Do you play on freedom? Maybe all the bases on Freedom suck?

I don't think it changes the argument too much either way, and don't really think the devs should be trying to restrict what limited dev created content exists to organized SG/VGs, though.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think you have it exactly backwards. The devs should be adding more DIFFERENT content. There is only one SF run through the mission computer. There should be at least one TF that works the same way - just to be DIFFERENT from every other TF.

Though I do like to point out a small, interesting detail. Judging by that wallpaper picture, Lord Recluse is either A.) left-handed, or B.) a left-handed shooter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well being left-handed is traditionally associated with evil.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I'm left handed IRL.

    [/ QUOTE ]
So? That doesn't change history and the language. The Latin word for left is sinister. The French word is gauche. Left has had negative associations for a long, long time.
  13. How long have you been gone and how much RAM do you have? Long load times are almost always a result of not enough RAM and I doubt crashing at the market has anything to do with your graphics card either.

The glitchy characters in AE are the only thing that sounds like your vid card or driver might be the cause.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
They don't hae to be set the same, nor does every bin have to be set the same if you want to reserve a bin or two for your personal use (just don't set anyone else up as Leader).

    [/ QUOTE ]
Emphasis on this. We had asked for individual bin settings for a long time and finally got it.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
So, have you seen this area? Heard about it? Used it?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Heard about it on the forums and in the tutorial. Went in ONCE just to look. I normally work at a terminal out in the main area, but I pick an AE building that is less crowded (usually Indy Port or Brickstown).

It does seem like a reasonable idea for Wentworths. The only change in the WW building would be to add a door linked to a suppression room under the map.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
No, Inokis you're missing the part where *the aggro range exceeded your visibility*.

    Some missions are like that.

In fact the old Cape mission (ooooold) was bugged so that the item you're supposed to be protecting would basically start getting hit the MOMENT you entered the mission. Since it was (at that point) a 2 or 3 level mission map, you might get through the first couple mobs before you get kicked out Failed.

Just because you weren't there to see the Boss run by, doesn't mean he didn't do it - he was the mission objective, therefore if you ignore him long enough he'll do exactly what he did: escape. It wasn't on a timer. It was merely that he NOTICED you coming into the mission, and his actions were triggered by that alone. You didn't need to start a fight or even be in the same room with him, for this to happen.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok,let's say this is what happened,How is it possible to not fail the mission? Wouldn't this be considered a bugged mission?

    [/ QUOTE ]
It does sound bugged. However, it can be bugged and still be possible to complete. This sounds a bit like the 'Defend The War Walls' mission. You had to protect some force field generators with Rikti standing near them who would attack them. They were supposed to attack when you came in aggro range. Instead, they would start attacking immediately. If you knew this in advance, and bum-rushed every group, you could complete it.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Cool answer: Because sometimes he doesn't just want to annihilate you with magic, tear you apart with his metal arms or get his henchmen to swarm you. Sometimes he'll just pull out that pistol and shoot you in the head.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Exactly what I was going to say. A bullet in the head is traditional.

    It's Green Gravitic.
And I THINK there is no H on Delila.

So my quandry, how much should I spend on these things? He said that he had a comics rating guide and priced them all fairly, but they seem way underpriced from the prices I saw on that website.

    [/ QUOTE ]
This quote was in reference to the stock market and I can't recall whether it was Warren Buffet or Peter Lynch: "Buy what you know."

In other words, if you need to come here and ask, you shouldn't be trying to buy comics as an investment.

Yes, we're well aware of this. But he seems to be saying that this is a common occurrence and it should NOT be unless he's doing something wrong.

ParagonWiki indicates that this trial requires a leader in the range of 39-41, otherwise the trial will not start. If this is still the case, then we will need someone in the appropriate range.

    It is.

Didn't Posi say we weren't getting more slots?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Correct. But if I recall correctly he said it in a way that didn't conflict with the concept of universal enhancement slots. Someone will dig up the exact quote but it was something like "we won't raise the level cap, and you won't be getting more slots for your powers." And universal enhancement slots are not slots for your powers. They're something new.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I love when they do that.
Statesman: There will be no more nerfs to powers.
    <ED happens>
Statesman: It's a change to enhancements, not the powers.
  24. I quote NPC text from RWZ (if I'm recalling it correctly):
"Crey will find a way to make a profit from this place. That's what's so great about this company."

Theres was a lot more, but I would take a long time too type it all, and for some reason the chat box won't show up in screenshots.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you type /screenshotui 1 that will show the UI in the screen shots. Also you could turn on chat logging and have a log of every conversation you see while in game. (Everything you see in your chat box is logged. Makes good black mail material )

    [/ QUOTE ]
In addition: you can capture all the text in one tab AFTER the fact (but before you log out).
    /copychat <tabname>
    so...
    /copychat global
would copy all the text on your global tab and save it to the clipboard, which you could then post directly to the forums. (After you do find and replace to protect the names of the innocent.)
